Zidane is an all-time great player but it is really baffling why he would have these occasional moments of rage. Sent off twice for violent conduct in his World Cup career.
Whether for the right/wrong reasons his bursts of outrage were due to his demeanor (being somewhat of a loner which tapped into his insecurities) and feeling that he needed to protect himself. The best players are not always saints.
One of the best World Cup I've ever watched. A well-deserved title win just like the one in 2018 but the 1998 one was special. In the 2018 title win France never played with all their power.
Another blast from the past! ...and it's getting more exciting! Still having chills when thinking about the totally numb Brazilian side in the final. What a shocker...
@@TheSportsFiles-mm1kg totally true... he just wasn't himself... and that puzzling change of ming just before the match opened the door to a lot of controversy, one being that their sponsor Nike was demanding that he played (and hang the new Nike boots around his neck) for obvious commercial reasons
Yeah, there are a lot of theories on what happened that day. The most realistic is that a young Ronaldo simply succumbed to the pressure. But I read there were other suggestions like his gf had an affair. He was injured, and Nike forced him to play as you suggested, etc.
@@TheSportsFiles-mm1kg I agree, there was no such thing as a conspiracy or foul play like some people say. He simply wasn't 100% fit. I'm completely convinced that even if he was at 100% France would have still won the tournament.
@@DTNenforcer Yeah France was better organised and they exploited Brazil's weaknesses. Zidane scoring 2 headers from a near-post cross was no fluke. They spotted that it was a problem area for Brazil.
When you have finished all your World Cup videos I recommend that you can make UEFA Euro videos for instance. How did Denmark win the 1992 Euro or How did France win the 1984 Euro

And soon Mexico will become the first team to host it thrice, unfortunately the main host will not be Mexico hence the Azteca Stadium won't host a final for the third time. In 1986 Mexico was not going to be the host, they only became the host after Colombia was not going to be able to host that World Cup

Again with this nonsense. France was superior and achieved a well-deserve Worlc Cup win in 1998. Even if Ronaldo would have been 100% fit France would have still won but probably 2 - 1 or 3 - 2. The only clearly rigged World Cup of the last decades were the one in 2002 and the one in 2022.
@@rdrock-vd2dw 1982 wasn't, I wouldn't say 1986 was rigged but cheated instead. Add 1934 and probably 1966 too. I didn't add more since I was talking about the rigged ones in recent years.
Remarkable the French managed to win the world Cup with a squad of less than 40% of their players the children of immigrants, as opposed to the over 70% in the recent Euros. Shows the massive benefits which unrestricted immigration has brought to that country.

Bro till this day I think if he hadn't gotten the red card in the 06 Final France would have beat Italy

Zidane finally broke his curse at failing just at the last stage. This world cup really put him onto the international stage

Yeah, other Brazilian players have mentioned they were shocked by what happened to Ronaldo and feared for him on the pitch that night.

94 was better
Mexico was the first team to host the world cup twice.... 1970 and 1986.
Yep, that's right. Italy was the second team to host twice in 90, and then France became the third in 98.
