Same as the front light. The battery powers both front and back through the same switch. Ground wire on each light goes to negative terminal of battery. Hot red wire on each light goes to switch and then switch is wired to positive terminal on battery.

How do you charge the battery? Is it able to charge of the engine when running?
I just use a Battery Tender charger. The engine does not charge the battery when running.

What is the relay for?
You don't need a relay unless you are wanting another power source to turn it on or if it was pulling alot of current
can i use electrical tape instead of soldering
I think electrical tape alone will not hold up. At least use twist connectors or some other crimp connector.
