so many things I love about this performance...love the violinist over Tommy's left shoulder singing sitting on this bar stool....love the conductor bouncing and getting down with Tommy and the girl playing the flute at the 3:15 mark throwing a little shoulder and hip action as she plays

They said the same thing about the Beatles in the 60s. People my age misremember how the music we loved was viewed by people in their 60s. Elvis was viewed as pure evil in many places and remember Styx back making? When we showed up for a concert the "normal " didn't get what all the long hours were doing. You dont recall how music festivals viewed by the mainstream, those who were in the position we now occupy. And lest we forget we had music that was junk ourselves. Listened to Twisted Sister lately? We didn't want more of Dean Martin, or Sinatra. We wanted Zepplin as much because our parents hated it as any other reason. Leaf Garrett and Donny Osmond also sold records

I have a friend that plays in a band and he told me one evening that he wouldn't walk across the street to see Styx even if it was free to see them. I say his loss. Many good albums and songs to disrespect them like that. Those kids in the band are having a good time. What's to hate on ?
I liked Shaw's subtle shout out to Lawrence Gowan when he sings, "Is it any wonder I'm not a criminal...with a criminal mind." For those who don't know Gowan had a hit in Canada with a song called "A Criminal Mind."
