Thanks for joining me on another surf adventure, in this video I surf THE AMAZING SHORT SANDS BEACH on the OREGON COAST in my travels back to my home town of Santa Barbara. After scoring some super fun and super freezing waves I explore this amazing place and rinse of after my surf in a beautiful waterfall (tidal fall) before I hit the road to Umpqua Hot-springs for a long soak before finding camp for the night.

I’ve been surfin here since the 70s ! I used wear a 2/3 mm suit, if you ain’t tough, you ain’t gonna make it here. You need to ride our winter swell when it’s like 10-15 and clean, cold and fun!

Just surfed Short Sands last week, love that place! I didn't think of it at the time but it was cool how you got under the waterfall, great way to rinse the wetsuit, ha. Great video!

@@LorenBird Haha..I use bulldog leashes, surf cold water and never had problems..I once bought a board and leash that was brought back from Bali..there was no leash on the board so I got a discount..when I got the board home in the bottom of the boardbag was what I thought was loads of snapped pieces of thick pasta..turned out that it was the leash..the change in temp made the leash rock solid and brittle so it snapped into loads of tiny bits..mabey it was the sudden change in temp made it brittle..sorry for the short novel..)

Do you ever run into sharks down in socal I hear stories about white sharks being seen often I surf a lot here in Oregon short sands and cape kiwanda mainly I never see any
