Very interesting video ❤❤❤
Thank you!! 🐺😁
A joy to watch, I must say. Viva, Incoming Microscope!
Thank you so much!! Incoming Microscope!!! 🐺🐺🐺😁😁😁
The amber is flux from factory and the wire is probably a repair from the factory. If there was a error on the board that got found they would repair it in factory till the later revision could be printed more than likely they found the traces did not provide enough power. They do this so the new ones they sell do not have the same issues even though its the same board.
Ah I see!! Thank you for that!! I’m going to get some new wire and put the mod for the power port back!! 🐺😁
What a fantastic video. Thank you. Keep them coming.
Thank you!!! I’m aiming for 1 solid video a week! Quality over quantity!! 🐺😁
A relic of the past!
Yo btw soon imma shout you out
A relic of the past just like me!! 🤣
A shout out would be awesome!! Thank you so much!!! 🐺🐺🐺😁😁😁😁
@@wolfmanrepairs no problem bro have a good day
@mcpro30 thanks!! You too!! 🐺🐺😁
Each piece is original (with additional modification)
Yeah I’m starting to think these were modded like that from the factory. I’m going to put that power port mod back 🐺😁
Great job!! Keep these amazing machines alive! Those blue wires appear to be some kind of factory modification. I've seen them on multiple model 2 boards, sometimes they are red, or black as well. I have no idea what they are for. It does not appear to be a custom mod as most of those are done in very different locations on the board. All sorts of weird things like that are undocumented in the later life of the Genesis. Try a 32X to find some weird design choices and wires!
Thank you!! The SEGA Genesis especially the model 2 is one console I’m always buying broken and repairing / selling so more of these consoles can be working out in the wild!!
I’ve seen a bunch of the mods to the power port. Makes me think I should put it back. Yes I agree the 32x has some weird stuff going on!! 🐺😁
I have that board revision. The audio was pretty much fixed, compared to older MD2 runs.
Sega factory modded since the beginning. Hell, the JP MD1's VDP (GPU) during the launch run needed a major one due to a bad glitch that crashed the machine. Those specific Mega Drives have additional circuitry on daughter boards, mounted on foam bricks.
Thank you!! I did not know that SEGA would mod the boards like this. I always thought it was someone who was in the console before me. I will be putting the mod back on the power port for sure!! Thanks again!!! 🐺🐺😁😁
@@wolfmanrepairsNo problem. And I've seen the DC connector mod on other MD2s. It was a pretty common thing. Also inconsistent, because some don't have it (don't think my VA3 does, though I'd need to take it apart).
@ZonicMirage yeah I’ve been seeing it on and off on the MD2s. That’s why I wasn’t sure if it was from factory or not. I might start doing to mod myself on consoles that don’t have it. I’m thinking that they put the wires on the DC jack to help minimize solder cracking from people putting the power plug in the jack too hard. 🐺😁
sega always did bodge wires
Yeah I’m definitely going to put those wires back!! 🐺🐺😁😁
