In that first game he fireballed a 2/3 taunt rather than the thing that ended up at 7 attack and did almost all the face damage that game. 3:55 "in games like that, what can you do?" I dunno, maybe fireball the threat rather than a small taunt minion in the way of the threat?
And that's part of the reason he's better than you. He was giving himself the best chance to clear the board with a madder bomber on the following turn. What he understands is that playing well in a card game is about maximizing your odds over many repetitions, not the result of one instance.
Killing the 2/3 removed one madder bomber target, which slightly increased the odds of it hitting the trogg twice and killing it. Not that much, though, since his opponent had at least one turn between the fireball and bomber to play more stuff and it had to hit twice because he didn't have mana to ping. If he'd fireballed the trogg, his opponent would have a 2/3 on board and it wouldn't even matter if the bomber killed it, it's still only a 2/3. He also had a polymorph to deal with a big threat if one was played (which it was, a 7/7). It was a greedy play that relied on good RNG and it lost him the game. Even worse, if he HAD been lucky the net effect would've been to kill the 2/3 as well as the trogg, at the cost of taking an extra face hit from the trogg, which is OK but not exactly amazing and definitely not worth the risk.
Infinite Monkeys No, it quite dramatically increases the chance of killing it actually. The rest of the nonsense you wrote is irrelevant because you don't understand basic statistics. What you also don't seem to understand is that taking attack off of the board is less important than taking health off of the board. You win this game with board control. His only chance to retake the board was to hope his madder bomber got a clear, and he makes it more likely by taking health off of the board instead of attack. There's a reason a 4/5 is considerably better than a 5/4, and it's because the game is about board control and it's much easier to remove a minion with 1 less health. He has a win rate of something like 8+ wins for a reason, it's because he's better than you and understands the game better than you, and so do I.
The trogg did 21 face damage over the course of the game. If he fireballed it, it would've done 3 instead. If you don't think 18 extra damage is game losing then you're the one that doesn't understand basic maths.
For someone who is getting rekt by rng that often, Kripp sure says "How do you lose with this deck?" a lot. Just today I had an insane deck with cairne, black knight and a really good curve but I got my entire lategame in the opening hand against a rogue. There's no coming back from missing the first 3 drops if your opponent plays decently. I think that might have happened to at least some of Kripps opponents aswell.
Yeah but Kripp isn't anywhere near as awesome as he thinks either. To be honest, seeing him lose and whine about it is like 90% of the reason I'm watching his videos. I always have to imagine him bend over by some mouth breather Pulp Fiction style.
"There was this guy in arena, okay, and his deck didn't comprise entirely out of magma ragers! Wow! I mean..., there were cards, that actually did something. So lucky!" - the average Kripp crazy arena video
probably the best hearthstone player around. just people don't realize it because he mostly plays arena. but he has already "won" at 3 other major games as one of the best in the world.
"Oh my god he played so badly", "he is so lucky", "is this constructed?", "how can you ever lose with that?".... Kripp 2016Turns out he's preeeeetty bad.
ya ok. if hes such bullshireno how is it he was top rated hunter in wow in the world. first to beat diablo 3 hardcore. one of the premier path of exile players when that game started. and he just went 100 or so wins out of 9 arena runs in a row. if you think he's bad im guessing your dumb. just sayin. guessin you suck at most things like you do analysis P4tK
Just had my best deck with N'zoth as very last draft card rounding up my already nice deck. Decklist: Mortal Coil Power Overwehlming Soulfire Flame Imp inj Kvaldir Possessed Villager 2x Zealous Initiate Darkbomb Dark Peddler Frostwolf Grunt Shadowbolt Darkshire Councilman 2x Im Gang Boss Ironforge Rileman Raging Worgen Imp-losion Gnomish Inventor Infested Tauren Sen'jin Shieldmaster Tomb Spider Bomb Lobber Booty Bay Bodyguard Sludge Belcher Strangelthorn Tiger Drakonid Crusher nerubian Prophet and here it comes, the very last card choice was made with N'Zoth. Great in this deck! 10-0 atm
3:46 "So I ask you guys, in games like that what can you do?" Well my first thought is on turn 4 you fireballed one of the spirit doggies instead of the trogg that had a much higher ceiling for damage, the turn after whoops new target to use the polymorph on and you were proper fucked at that point. Now rewind and fireball the trogg, then poly the 7/7 you'll only have a 2 attack minion smacking you in the face from then on out until it's buffed to 3.
"The opponent mulligans his cards. "Oh my god dude, are you kidding me?" says Kripp. The opponent plays a 2 drop. "Seriously dude? This is crazy." The opponent draws a card at the start of their turn. "No fckin way dude, I can't beat that." The opponent hero powers. "This is some crazy RNG bullshit" says Kripp."
That comment can still be true, some opponents in those 12 win runs likely had ridiculous decks, he just managed to out tempo/play them, or they got shit draw. And not all of his arena runs were 12-0, i think one or two of his losses in some of those matches were decks more ridiculous than his.
"they got a shit draw" so even decks he stomps we're just saying "That was clearly an OP as fuck deck, he just drew shit and we never saw any of it". Holy shit, that's one of the most insane apologist ideas I've ever heard.
OMG! WTF is this bull****? No way! Gimme a break! Oh, come on! Really?! Jesus, this guy is insane! Wow! How the **** is this even possible?! What kinda bull**** is that?! This guy is actually playing constructed! Holy cow!
i ran into a warlock at 4/2 who had the most insane warlock cards and managed to pull of the most insane combos. dude had knifejugglers, darkshire councels, possesed villagers, po's and a void terror to suck it all up. needless to say it was an early loss for me.
I don't play Hearthstone that much, but I always watch it on Twitch, so a lot of the time I subconsciously look to the right of my screen whenever something funny happens to try and read chat. :P
It's sniping i guess, but I don't stream and often get rolled over by this kind of decks as well. These games usually happen at low wins, like 2-0, 3-1 etc. Idk why, that's just the way it works for me. At high wins I encounter good decks but not completely insane ones. There was just 1 unbeatable hunter deck I've faced, with 4x Highmane and 2x Krush at 11-0. That's a good place for this kind of deck to be.
He traded Spawn of N'Zoth with one minion on Board. Funny Sidemark: this one other minion was N'Zoth himself. After (!) that, he played like 3 or 4 more minions.
In the first match at 2:23 I think the right play was to fireball the 3 attack minion that could potentially grow bigger, the 2 damage wasn't a threat at the time, and you had no creature to kill the trogg even after you got rid of the taunt. So I just though that was the worst play, next to fire ball face, or fire balling your own face.
+Matt Silverman The only way you are going to win against an opener like that is to get lucky and to maximize your odds of doing so. Setting up the Madder Bomber is the best way to do that. If the opponent only played one minion the next turn after the fireball and Kripp Madder Bombered and killed the trogg, it would have been praised as a good play.
Fireball on the 2/3 is a giant waste regardless... Trogg had the potential to do wayyy more damage and you are still relying on 2 hits between likely 5 targets since the sham is going to play at least two things ... Seemed pretty bad but tough situation anyways
I seem to play against these types of decks all the time. I'm not the best player but I'm certainly not terrible but my opponent always has an answer as well as playing minions. It gets so frustrating.
i love how whenever kripp loses to someone with a good deck "Wow a crap player who got a good deck" He can never admit that someone just played better than him
"it is pretty depressing how many games you lose to bad players, just because they get lucky with good cards" my arena runs in a nutshell (well at least i know how does not ever get a useful legendary in arena, so others can have it!)
im at 4-1 w/ rogue deck contains 2x eldritch a faceless shambler and a sunfury shield chick. also other cards are 2,3,4 drops. have no stabbys or eviscerates, but still put up some real bs for people
I cringe every time Kripp complains about a topdeck when it's so early in the game. Like, would it really bother him less if they didn't "topdeck" it, and the card was already in their opening hand?
Jacob S The fact that it isnt in his opening hand is exactly why he complains. If you topdeck a perfect answer on turn 3, you had a chance of 1 in 25 to draw that, so it's pretty freaking lucky dude
+Vitor Or maybe their deck has a good curve and they have 6+ possible good cards to draw for turn 3. You never know what the odds are to draw a good play without knowing their deck. You also don't know if they already had an almost nearly as good play for turn 3 already in their hand and just chose to use the one they drew because it's a bit better. What's really pathetic about Kripp's attitude though is he gets just as lucky just as often as his opponents, because luck breaks even in the long run. But he almost never mentions it when he's super lucky, or when he top decks the perfect card. But when his opponents do he never stops whining about it.
I had a 12-1 zoo arena similar to the stinky pete guy. 4 1 drops, 2 darkshire councilman implosion and mal ganis at the end. fucking crazy, only got beaten by the most outrage hunter deck I have ever seen.
17:49 Kripp admits to having a drinking problem.
Lol I was thinking the same thing!
to the top
I don't get it
don't you know what "getting hammered" also means? maybe you will understand after you start college
Hammered - drunk
"Always never lucky!" - Kripp as he "only" goes 12-2 in Arena.
In that first game he fireballed a 2/3 taunt rather than the thing that ended up at 7 attack and did almost all the face damage that game. 3:55 "in games like that, what can you do?" I dunno, maybe fireball the threat rather than a small taunt minion in the way of the threat?
if he played another big threat it's Gg since he doesn't have enough pressure.whats your win average, 2?lmao
And that's part of the reason he's better than you. He was giving himself the best chance to clear the board with a madder bomber on the following turn. What he understands is that playing well in a card game is about maximizing your odds over many repetitions, not the result of one instance.

Where was this that bad? He wanted his Nzoth to be alive, which is completely reasonable

He traded Spawn of N'Zoth with one minion on Board. Funny Sidemark: this one other minion was N'Zoth himself. After (!) that, he played like 3 or 4 more minions.
do you even know the deathrattle of the 2/2 that died?
In the first match at 2:23 I think the right play was to fireball the 3 attack minion that could potentially grow bigger, the 2 damage wasn't a threat at the time, and you had no creature to kill the trogg even after you got rid of the taunt. So I just though that was the worst play, next to fire ball face, or fire balling your own face.
Agreed. He could have won that game, he just did too many missplays. Regardless, respect for the kripp, two videos a day is a blessing
He was setting up to Madder Bomber the next turn. I would have made the same play.
and you would have been wrong too
+Matt Silverman The only way you are going to win against an opener like that is to get lucky and to maximize your odds of doing so. Setting up the Madder Bomber is the best way to do that. I cringe every time Kripp complains about a topdeck when it's so early in the game. Like, would it really bother him less if they didn't "topdeck" it, and the card was already in their opening hand?
I find it funny how he complains about every single thing(top deck, rng, etc.)and the salt flows through him
Jacob S The fact that it isnt in his opening hand is exactly why he complains. If you topdeck a perfect answer on turn 3, you had a chance of 1 in 25 to draw that, so it's pretty freaking lucky dude
I topdeck cringe every time.
+Vitor
Or maybe their deck has a good curve and they have 6+ possible good cards to draw for turn 3.
