Hearthstone is a card game based on WOW, it is also a digital card game.

I still remember when Kripp played the game completely blindfolded and only relies on hearing the sound of card his opponents played and his wife telling him which side (lef or right) on the board the car was played. He kicked ass in that challenge.

Well its not outside the realm of possibility in warcraft to have a sentient weapon, but yeah it would have to be named differently.

See, part of me hopes he does a jeopardy-esque thing with this series. Have multiple people on, present a card, then the first one to "buzz" in gets to decide if it's real or fake and why in the case of the latter.
Perhaps just having it be "What is fake" and make it more obscure with the higher points.
There was a gameshow called Streamer Showdown, that had segments like that, finding errors in cards, trivia, identifying cards by a part of their image, etc. It even had the game designer Ben Brode in a few episodes, and it's pretty impressive how well he knew the game.

He probably remembers Junkbot at 4 mana because at the time, Mechwarper was a must in every mech deck. That reduced the cost of all your mechs by (1)
nah I think it's because Junkbot was a tavern 4 minion, also 4 mana sounds reasonable for its stats and effect.

As someone who's been playing HS since closed beta and who started following Kripp around Naxx or GvG, hearing him tell all of these old war stories makes me incredibly nostalgic. Good times indeed.

14:18 this weapon was a pretty powerful card in odd Paladin, the extra recruits, divine shield and attack boost you could get from this were quite powerful.

i played very little hearthstone and exclusively free to play and i got some cards before kripp, though i write that down to a notable difference in enthusiasm and him being generally a pretty slow paced person.
They kept saying Junkbot was from gadgetzan, but I was so sure that it was from goblins vs gnomes, since I tried my best to make it work but the card just wasn't very good. They even played the GvG trailer.
I looked it up and he is from GvG, not gadgetzan.
Love this series of videos. I forgot that the mega-windfury elemental was ever in BGs. I kinda remember it coming in, being stupid broken, people complaining and it swiftly got removed

I started watching because of the mercenaries videos cause i wanted to try mercs at the time. Since then you exploded into a great fun and unique hs TH-camr with creative ideas who brings the hs community together. Your views exploded as well, shows everything can be turned into sth interesting with creativity! Keep it up man, you re doing awesome, hope you re also having fun!!

Kripp used to be among the most hardcore of gamers in his day. This man was nuts. He was one of the best hunters of WotLK, was member of one of the best guilds, and was also one of the two people that managed to beat Diablo 3's Heroic Inferno pre-nerf (that other person was his own buddy). It's barely any surprise that those talents carried over to his Hearthstone career
Haha, he's actually not that great at battlegrounds. He's not bad, but definitely not among the top players competitively.

That first elemental. I knew the art and new it was 4 mana and 4/4 or something like that. Didn't even read the text. So, i was right it was wrong, but for a different reason. I guess some participants would have better results if they would just say right or wrong without explaining. But it is more fun to watch their train of thought :)

As a non-Hearthstone I thought that Deadly Arsenal was fake because it looked like Pathfinder RPG art.
Instead it's artwork by Wayne Reynolds the guy who did the artwork for the first 12 Pathfinder RPG books cover art.

08:40 I had a really good warrior deck which played this and that one guy which exchanges decks w/ your opponent (Togwaggle, I think?) and that one 6 mana guy that destroys all 1-mana cards in your opponents' deck. I remember doing pretty well w/ it.

kripp is actually wrong on all giant-like minions being epic. i can at least recall mulchmuncher, which was an 8/8 and its cost was reduced for each dead treant and it was a rare card, not an epic.
That's probably one of the few exceptions though. Also, it's technically not a giant so Blizzard probably didn't make it an epic for that reason. It still stands out though.

@10:50 The funny thing is that Icehowl shouldn't have been a Beast, back on WoW's end. Yetis in WoW are classified as Humanoids.
This has traditionally gotten very sketchy with the Skinning profession too.
The colors triggered me off on Hydra. I was "Was that stone always grey? What? No, it's a wood creature...". And than it got to me - I got used to seeing this card as green, cause that's a Hunter card :)
I mmediately noticed King Mosh was fake because there was no period at the end of the card text lol
