Despite all that went down I'll still be a fan of iced earth. Once one always one. It's most unfortunit what happened happened. I will continue to play iced earth on my live broadcasts. I guess for the time being ashes of ares is the closest thing we have. I still wonder what a song like this would have turned out with matt singing it. I'm still a barlow fan through and through.
the universe of Rock n Roll surprises us in all aspects, lyrics, music, cover art, video clips, etc ... who listens to rock n roll has infinite possibilities !!!
About 2 years ago I attended a Raven ceremony, taught by a couple of elders who in turn learned from a Native American shaman. The whole day, we integrated the lesson of the Raven, which is a guide of timelessness. The Raven represents it, teaches it- It's this settling into and immersing yourself in the present moment, a.k.a. timelessness, where you free yourself from dark thoughts, programs and beliefs- then you know true freedom. It was to my shock and great delight that Iced Earth made a tribute to this mystical animal.
Stu Block is a phenomenal lead singer. He has done an incredible job on Dystopia, Plagues Of Babylon, and especially Incorruptible. Matt Barlow will always be the classic lead singer for Iced Earth, but I am very happy that Stu Block is their lead singer, and I hope that he is the final lead singer for Iced Earth.
Great band and great song!! I absolutely love the album Incorruptible. Jon Schaeffer is one of the greatest songwriters ever. This is one band that I can always depend on putting out great music and they have never let me down.
I never believed that there would be IE after Barlow... With all my respect, i was mistaken, they evolved and they still produce masterpieces for us and for that i am thankful beyond words.
Barlow was the band but the band is a band without barlow and you see it here Im just saying it now cuz i have nothing else to say and i like iced earth and i like raven
Absolutely amazing and glorious. the boys are back! getting a little something wicked vibe here. I can already tell this will be my new favorite Iced Earth album. Stu is just amazing and this Jake dude is killing it. Loved it, every second of it
Levent Vahdettin Sorry man! I misinterpreted your post. I just get tired of everybody bitching about every new IE song that comes out, saying "meh, sounds like every other IE song." My first thought is, what songs have YOU written lately? My second thought is, IE has been around since 88. It's inevitable they're going to re tread on certain ideas/sounds. EVERY band that has been around that long is guilty of this. At this point in IE's career, they are what they are. You either like what they do or quit bitching and find another band.
THIS IS ICED EARTH!!!!!!! I feel "The Dark Saga" in this song.... The Keyboard and the guitar solo are amazing, and Stu Block is definitely the right guy to sing in this band... Something EPIC this way comes.... The new album will be a masterpiece....
as someone who became a fan many years ago, Barlow will forever hold the place of best in my eyes,...but,..owens settled in well to,...and now block takes over holding of the mantle. i love the early IE sound this song evokes
Shawn Jones same here I also thought this is barlow singing and yes i do realize dark saga in this song which is a good thing since dark saga and something wicked are their best albums imo
I can't tell that way I feel when I listen to this masterpiece This song really helped me to making sadness depression go away and made me happy also with raven wings that I feel when stu says "With blackened wings I fly"
Took me what, 20 run throughs of the song at minimum to really think about the song lyrics? Think its about death, but done in the most epic way possible for people to hear it.
No Ignis is right "and with a sad sigh knowing he exhaust be all other options like Egypt romevwnd babalyon before it "you have learned nothing but how to be more cruel to each other. Three times I have made arguments for you 3 times I was madeca fool.... no more"

Now THIS is what I have been waiting for from Iced Earth !! Such a great song, true return to the epicness of the old albums. If the rest of the album reaches the knees of this song, we're in for a good time.
Iced Earth was always missing a guitar player with the chops to really back up the song with a kickass solo and I'm happy to say they finally found one!
This song makes me think of Medivh, from the Warcraft franchise, flying from land to land, warning the people of Azeroth about the Scourge, carrying out his duties as the Guardian of Tirisfal.
Jake is insanely great on the guitar!!!! His solo just catapulted this song up many percentages! Much better than anything Troy played in the band for a whole decade. A big upgrade for Iced Earth 🙏

So glad to have Brent "Deadly" Smedley back on drums!!!! I've listened to this song like 15 times already! Killer riffs, great lead guitar work, great vocals, great song! Every member is on point here. Also, I really like how Century Media has presented these songs on TH-cam with the artwork, album promotion, etc. Great job guys!
Metal brothers, down here, did the complete analysis of the compositional and technical aspects of this great song. I want to add, on those critics, that the songs who made us love Metal, are not only excellent works from the artistic point of view(remember great compositions of the classic music, with great number of instruments and the totality of the music means, technics and expression ways, that don't make any sense to us, because we cannot feel nothing at all listening to them, although they are classic- perfect works. They are not contemporary). At this point of view, the song creates from the begining a classical taste, so gives the promise that will be classic. Listening to it, touches the depths of the feelings , emotions and brain cells, and reminds us the reasons we loved metal music. The song is a metal jewel, at the part of music. But also has excellent- esoteric lyrics. The voice of Stu lifts an excellent song to the level of a masterpiece. The intellectual messages and meanings pass perfect, so as the emotional. Its a great modern-classic metal work. Thanks for the feelings, wish long live for the song and come back soon to Greece for the band...
I can place this song on repeat for hours. Absolute masterpiece.

Yep
🙋🏻♂️
It's mediocre at best.

Listening to this song helps me forget about my problems and what’s going on in the world. I can sleep to this song.
Like the guitarist of this band being wanted by the fbi?
@@magyar9479 your the fucking reason we wanted a wall at the border
It's getting better and better..... 10 million strong must hear this!
i hate Tim Owens
Amaranth Leonhart why?.
Owens is awesome
Totte Kallkvist Blech Owens is garbage.
Totte Kallkvist, have you been living under a rock? Owens? Stu would eat him and you for breakfast
I believe Jon will write some music either in Jail or out but we will hear him again. God bless him
One of the finest albums I own. Metal is as alive as it ever was.
One of the most beautiful and real songs I've ever heard!
It strikes right at the heart!

Agree with you. One has to seperate the music from politics.
I mean as far as band drama goes it wasn't the worst thing that ever happened, atleast it wasn't "as I lay dying" levels of wtf

The singer sounds like Barlow so much, miss those old days
not at all, hes not a bad singer, but NOTHING like barlow

Iced Earth thank you for this wonderful song🤘
Man I can't get over the chord progression at 2:05, it's so simple but there's something so powerful about it
Yes, it's top level song writing to be able hear when the simple works perfectly.
Great song for this moment in my life. Literally listened to this at my darkest. Thank you Iced Earth!

did you LITERALLY listen to this at your darkest?!!!!!!! so cooll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nobody LITERALLY gives a fuck

No wonder nobody believes in science . They don't have a sane mind . If you're a scientist you're a shit one .
Framing Armageddon made me an Iced Earth fan. Far too perfect an album; especially conceptually.
This music has some magic. I love it. A masterpiece. Perfect music. Iced Earth rocks!

in my oppinion this song is between melancholy and watching over me! good job Stu!
Levent Vahdettin Agree. With a little "I Died For You" sprinkled in as well.
@Levent Vahdettin, @killerdude35 - This is what we call a ballad formula, and sadly for Iced Earth, they've fallen right into the trap.
Levent Vahdettin Hate if you want to but I think it kicks ass.
