That’s so me. “Wow I’m so late I need to leave” *showers* *deep conditions* *puts on makeup* *cooks five course breakfast* “I just don’t understand why I’m so late all the time what am I doing wrong” 😂
My sweet child, I've been in this game for 32 years and I'm still passionate about what I do. I routinely work 96 hours per pay period/4/12 hour night shifts in a row and then usually pick up a 16 hour on call shift on Fridays also nights because we are in a critical shortage and have been for awhile now. My prayers are with you that you remain passionate about where God has placed you, remember, "they may not remember your name but they will always remember the way you made them feel..." Maya Angelou
OMG how???!!! I am 50 and can barely tolerate it any more. My long commute, getting through the all the floors of the parking garage, then over a bridge and up the elevator with my heavy bag of food etc has me worn out, and the shifts that run 13, 14, 15+ hours, then the commute back home only to get a 3 hour nap before I do it all again... and the standards just keep getting higher and higher, the amount of charting, the patient and administration expectations....
I’m a nursing assistant in Australia working a full time nightshift job and a casual side job which is also nightshift and I am LOVING all your nightshift content! You don’t get to see a lot of other people who do nightshift so it’s great to see how you fit things into your day 💪🏼 #teamnightshift
Thankful for nurses. Just this passed week my grandfather was in the hospital, and I stayed with him... the nurses there were so sweet, tired or not, they came and made sure everything was okay and that he was happy. God bless nurses / doctors / anyone in the medical field. 🙏🏼❤️
I seriously love you. I love your vlogs. I’m not a nurse or anywhere near the health field but I have so much respect for you and everyone in that profession. I do admire your work ethic.
I’m a CNA and I work five 12hour shifts, every third weekend, and attending nursing school. It blows my mind that You have a routine! Every time I get one it gets messed up 😩 lOVE YOUR VIDS!!
Every one deserves a nurse like you. So caring and compassionate. I have come across so many other nurses that act like they hate their job and resent the patient
I’m not even a nurse, I graduated with a psych degree but I just find your energy and personality so inspiring. I love watching just to see snack ideas, how you stay positive, and just seeing you go about your day. Thank you for being an inspiration to those who are lacking it at the moment 💕
I’ve been a CNA for 10 years and have worked in pretty much all medical settings. I’m currently working with Hospice and it can be a little bit of a challenge but I love it! You definitely have to have the heart to do this kind of work ❤️
The first video went viral because a lot of us, like me, were interested in seeing how night shift works! Tips, tricks, hacks anything that will help me be more prepared before I start my nursing career I wanted to see! Nursing is something I've always wanted to do since I was little & I didn't have access to this career field until now & I'm excited & nervous & happy & scared for what my future holds in nursing. Your videos ARE SO GOOD & make it easier to prepare not just for night shift but for my overall career in nursing period. You make me very excited to become a RN. THANK YOU for your lovely videos girl! keep up the good work (:
I love your videos so much. I've been watching your channel since before I got into nursing school and now I'm over halfway done, and you give me so much hope and reassurance that I'm where I need to be. Thank you for everything you do!!!! You rock.
I wish you would have shown a little more and talked a little more of you’re timing and where or if you fit the gym/activity in, how many hours you aim for of sleep, when or if you see your SO, how the shift went and how it effects your day after work pending the difference in the shift. I’m new to night shift and these are the things I’m curious about with other night shifters to see any adjustment ideas to my own routine. I guess I was just looking for a little more thorough since it was a 3 day stretch video I got excited to see your advice/hear what you’ve tried and what worked/ didn’t work. Nonetheless thank you for your effort in all these videos!
Lol there is no way to fit in the gym when you work 3 in a row. I work out religiously, but by the time you get home, it’s already past bedtime. I usually don’t even have time to shower. If I get home at 9:30 PM and have to be up at 4:30 AM, well you do the math. Our shifts start at 6:30 am and I have a 1 hour + commute, plus we have to pack any food we plan to eat.
Honestly, you're one of my favorite TH-camrs!! I love your positive and happy attitude throughout all your videos and I just want to watch all of your videos at once!! Your videos are very informative and I love how you promote products even when not being sponsored. *Keep up the good work* Xo, Paige :)
Girl, I just love you!! I have the utmost respect for nurses. My mother was a nurse and I remember her being on call for the OR when I was little. It didn’t matter what time if night it was. If she got the call she was up and dressed and gone. God bless you, my angel😘🥰💗!
I have struggled through college left and right for personal reason and it has been one thing after the other. I just came across your account and it has been so motivating. I had to put nursing on hold and in the mean time I’m finishing up my public health degree until I can start nursing school, so thank you so much for being a real option for me to go to. It helps keep my faith with this wanting to be what I do with me life
Friday October 11th when you were getting off work , i was getting ready for surgery ! .. i had my thyroid removed on the 11th , so almost a month post op &’ i feel amazing , now .. i actually started watching ur videos when i was in the hospital for a week because my calcium levels dropped rapidly ! .. so you were the reason i got through being in the hospital for a week , getting blood tests 3 times a day , getting vitals every 4 hours &’ being woken up early every morning to take my medication ! .. so thank you for what you do 💙 .. i have so much respect for nurses 😍
Somehow found you on here, about to do my first 7 day stretch. Dayshift monday, two nightshifts, then 4 backshifts in a row... So excited to see that people can live normal lives while working insane schedules at a hospital! I feel like there should be more people speaking out on youtube about their medical careers and how they handle them, i would love to but I dont know if my hospital would allow it.
Holly I just want to say I randomly came across this video from a year ago but I keep up with current you - you seem SO much happier now and I’m so happy for you!
Thank you to all the nurses and doctors who work around the clock to take care of us All! It truly takes amazing strong people to do what you do! God bless!
I love your videos and your enthusiasm through out. Thank you for everything you do. Seeing you love what you do, gives me so much more motivation to pursue my dream career as an EMT.
Your night shift video is awesome because there isn’t enough content out there about it! I’m a night shift nurse too and was so excited to see your channel!!
You help me alot with nights!! I’m a former night shift worker and the peanut butter toast was essential so thank you so much. Stay safe during the pandemic and thank you for all that you do doctors and nurses saved my life on more than one occasion
I’m a lot like you! I honestly prefer nights 2 and 3 because knowing your patients and essentially what your assessment will be like (unless they had issues the shift before) really does help. Currently about to nap for my shift tonight. My schedule is not a good one this last two weeks. 1 on, 1 off, 3 on, 1 off, and 2 more on. Currently made it to the first day of the last 2, then 7 days off (6 is more accurate though since I have a resident meeting the day before my next scheduled shift). I love your videos and I was actually thinking about starting a TH-cam channel for new nurses too but still on the fence since I’m in the throes of my RN to BSN program currently too.
I just graduated from nursing school and will be taking my NCLEX in just a couple of weeks. Once I pass, I have a job as a night shift nurse (which I was a little scared for) but I am so glad I stumbled upon your videos because you are honestly making me so excited to get started!! Thank you for all the tips!!
I so love your videos!! I’m not a nurse YET. I have been a cna for 4 years and I’ve switched gears due to health issues(I had my thyroid removed last year with lots of issues). I am a heart monitor tech and I love it! I love the healthcare field. I am 46 years old and I am hoping to go to nursing school next year. You inspire me with your great work ethic and your positive attitude!!! Much love from Alabama.
Your so much more enthusiastic than I am on a 3 night stretch. Day 1 is usually okay but by 7am the lack of sleep is setting in and I might fall asleep in the car lol. I usually want to die on day 2 and everyone knows it 😂😂 day 3 I’m just so freaking happy it’s over, I randomly get a burst of energy that carries me through the shift and back to my bed lol
My SIL is a nurse with two babes 2 and under at home. She does two overnights on the weekends and one on Wednesday. Stay at home mamma every other day. Thank you for sharing your days!
I'm back on the night shift after working days for a while, and your videos are so helpful. I love your energy and how real you are. Scarfing down some food as you're running out the door is 100% me on the first shift every time. But for real, I think its INSANE that you take 4-5 patients, that sounds so intense. I don't think I could take 5 patients.
Girl, I relate to you so much. I’m a night shift RN. I feel like we work on very similar floors based on your description. We start with 4 at 7 pm and can go up to 5 or admit after 11 pm. Which can definitely be a lot! Love your videos!
Hey Holley, I love your channel. I currently work as a night shift PRN tech on a Telemetry unit. I start nursing school in January. I swear you're one of the best nursing youtubers out there. Keep up the great content!
Please keep posting nursing related videos! I’ve been a nurse for 5 years and I’m currently on night shift for the next 2 months and I love seeing other nurses routines :)
I used to follow you when you were in nursing school, I was in at the same time. Now I'm a night shift nurse going on year 2....found you again and I'm so glad I did. I swear I heard my voice "night 1 i'm going to NAP.....nap...."
I hope people don't really give you grief over your patient load. Before I moved to the NICU I did adults and due to the fact I work in a Level 1 trauma center I know how those 4-5 patient assignments can keep you inanely busy. My old floor used to be so understaffed constantly that I typically started out with 5 then got an admit every night. It is crazy. Btw, I love your video's. I am so glad I found your channel. I have been thinking of starting a channel for years now and you are inspiring me to get it going! Love you!
I love this content because it’s so realistic and relatable. You aren’t like a Hollywood youtuber that just has fun all day and films It you show us the real shit that most all of us do! Keep grinding I love your stuff!!!!
I love how happy & upbeat you are after a shift☺️ I love your videos Holley & can’t wait to become a nurse like you someday!! You’re my motivation to keep grinding through. 👊🏻📚
I found you through your night shift as a nurse video that you said went viral! I’m so happy to have found you. Your videos are so fun and interesting. You are very hardworking and inspiring!
i did night shift for 14 years & said i would never do days. i’ve been on days for 2 years now since transitioning out of the hospital setting & it’s honestly the best ever. i don’t regret spending my youngest years doing the craziness of nights but i’m so thankful i’m done with it. i finally feel like a normal, productive human again 😂
Christi Lynn I’ve been doing nights for 19 years! I recently moved to weekend option, so now only doing 2 night, which is fabulous !! I’ve only done days when I worked as IV home infusion . I never want to do days in a hospital!
Patti Hawkins not sure exactly what i’ll end up doing but it’s amazing how many opportunities they’re actually are. i work for a large insurance company so i can transition almost anywhere.
Hello! When I first started nightshift 3 1/2 years ago, I came to TH-cam searching for content to use as a tool in helping me manage and “survive” my shift. Back then there wasn’t many references for night shifters like us. I recently came across your channel and love your vids! It’s such a helpful tool for other out there looking for guides, tips, and just “night in the life” stuff! I’ve worked 7 on 7 off 7p-7a for 3 1/2 years and am finally going to 5 nights a week 8 hour shifts! Hoping to get a good new routine running when I start🤞🏼 Also off topic , but your hair is beautiful! Much love from a night walker as well 🌙
Full time ER nurse working straight nights 3 kids under 5 ! Life is no joke but I can totally relate, 5 hours of sleep is a luxury. Sometimes I don’t know how I can function on so little sleep. On my days off I up 04:40 for Orangetheory classes, the only thing I do for myself ❤️
I love your night shift videos Hollie!! I also work night shifts (but none of my friends do) and your videos make me feel like I’m not alone in the night shift world 😊🙏🏻💖
I'm not a nurse but I learn a lot watching these videos on working nights. My husband and I own a commercial janitorial company and currently operate as management so to speak so we work nights every night pretty much.
Honestly idk how you work as a nurse so much AND make fire content AND edit said content AND workout AND have a boyfriend AND have friends and family AND have me time. Whatever you do though PLEEEEEASE don’t stop!! Love, an obsessed subscriber 😘😘
I love your energy when during those 3 days. I work as a QA in a 24hrs facility and I work night shift. Sometimes the 3 day is rough. Thanks for sharing. 😊
I enjoy every single video you post, especially nursing!!!! Could you make a video on what steps a high schooler should be taking right now to prepare for nursing school, like what classes, what jobs we should be doing know, who or what we should we be looking into? I’m an STNA and I’m not sure what my next step should be as a junior in high school. I have been taking college classes for pre-recks. But not sure what else I should be doing?
Hi Tayla! As a high schooler I would be talking to your counselor or whoever has access to helping you prepare for the colleges you're interested in. I would recommend finding pre nursing tracks at those colleges and attempting IF POSSIBLE to get some of those classes out of the way if you have that option. If not, totally fine! Work towards meeting the requirements of the college and look into nursing schools too! Some schools will pull you straight through and others you might transfer depending on your program. :) . Above all - WORK HARD NOW. It does pay off later on down the road I promise.
girl I love when videos are posted!! I wait for them for sure. Also, I ordered a hello headband that's leopard and I'm obsessed! can't wait to wear it to work!!
I work in a 911 call center and I love your videos because our schedules seem to be similar, and the stress and work load too. I’m one of the few girls where I work that loves hair and makeup and working out too so I love being able to watch your videos about how you incorporate it into your hectic weeks too.
I’m the same way, I’ve been a night nurse for 9 years and function on about 4 hrs of sleep! I’m not a good day sleeper! On my first night, I’m up for more than 24hrs. I feel ya girl!!
i’m so so inspired by you!! i’m an enrolled nurse student from australia and i love watching all your videos!! thank you for being the best channel ever 🥰💛
In school to be a MA but may be pursuing nursing once I’m done next oct..this is my second video I’m watching of u..love them so far! You seem like you love your job!
Your floor sounds so familiar!😯 My first job out of nursing school was the same way! They called it “the dumping ground” because we took EVERYONE! You rocked that 3 night stretch!💤
I recently ordered that striped headband!! I love love love your videos!!! I’ve been in such a slump these last few years gaining about 70lbs that I worked so hard to loseIn the years prior to that and you give me such motivation and inspire me to do better. You’re a true queen my dear 💕
I’m in school for CNA in Delaware, I’m starting clinicals in January. Your videos have answered so many questions I have had and have showed me different ways to do things :) My goal after CNA is RN.
I also work on a super high acuity med/surg unit at a large level 1 Trauma center (Dayshift). We get ICU step downs and the majority of our patients are critical or advanced care. Dayshift nurses on my floor carry 6 and nights are 6-7 depending on staffing. Its ALWAYS rough. But I've worked there 5 years and I do 3 day stretches every other weekend. I actually just finished one! Eventually you get used to the crazy.
Thank you my sister is a neo natal nurse and 3 night shifts too. It's hard on her, I encouraged her to maybe find something else in nursung in the future. At least she gets paid well.
Sounds like you work in what we call IMC (intermediate care unit), that is one unit that keeps me running as a respiratory therapist! That patient population is too sick to be in medsurg but not sick enough to be in ICU, but that can change quickly! I always say IMC nurses are badass and master multitaskers! I see you workin' hard, girl!
i love watching your videos while studying for med-surg and maternity this semester! i love you and your videos!! you help motivate me thru nursing school
nurses and doctors really deserve the world
Same with patient care techs
All healthcare truly
Sometimes
And teachers too
Not just nurses and doctors.
I had anxiety when she said she needed to leave but had a full bowl of food and cup of coffee haha
That’s so me. “Wow I’m so late I need to leave” *showers* *deep conditions* *puts on makeup* *cooks five course breakfast* “I just don’t understand why I’m so late all the time what am I doing wrong” 😂
Me too!!!!
I give such a big eye roll if people are saying your ratios are “too low.” Patient safety and nurse sanity are more important imo.
rodalye218 yes! I was thinking 4-5 is soooo many patients
My sweet child, I've been in this game for 32 years and I'm still passionate about what I do. TubnQT dang I’m really thinking of going into the field, is it worth it?
the fact that she was still filming and showing us everything while she was running late just shows how much she cares about her subscribers 💗💗
I’m a nursing assistant in Australia working a full time nightshift job and a casual side job which is also nightshift and I am LOVING all your nightshift content! You don’t get to see a lot of other people who do nightshift so it’s great to see how you fit things into your day 💪🏼 #teamnightshift
"Let's move on karen" 😂😂💀💀
Hehehe♡
I worked sat, sun, and mon 7pm-7am for a year. Worst year of my life. I bow down to people who work night shifts. Amazing people.
Thankful for nurses. Just this passed week my grandfather was in the hospital, and I stayed with him... the nurses there were so sweet, tired or not, they came and made sure everything was okay and that he was happy. God bless nurses / doctors / anyone in the medical field. 🙏🏼❤️

dang you're a busy girl! That's so awesome!!! I don't have the same routine every day but this is in general how it goes down. :)
Holley Gabrielle ugh even a general routine would be great!
God bless you girl.
😯😯😯
Every one deserves a nurse like you. So caring and compassionate. I have come across so many other nurses that act like they hate their job and resent the patient

You know it's gonna be a good day when Holley uploads!! Love you so much!!
Thanks for watching, girl! much love
I love a woman in scrubs , always appreciate you nurses and health care workers

Charlee Stough same🙌🏼🙌🏼
Holly I just want to say I randomly came across this video from a year ago but I keep up with current you - you seem SO much happier now and I’m so happy for you!
Thank you to all the nurses and doctors who work around the clock to take care of us All! It truly takes amazing strong people to do what you do! God bless!
Working my first night shift tonight and I work three days in a row each week :) excited! Thanks for the video
this makes me feel so much better about graduating in may and starting at my hospital! Your videos always inspire me! love them so much!!
I love your videos and your enthusiasm through out. Thank you for everything you do. Seeing you love what you do, gives me so much more motivation to pursue my dream career as an EMT.
That transition at 5:50 was something I felt deep in my nurse heart.

I just worked 3 in a row and watched this. Nice video. You are so encouraging and positive. You are helping advance this profession that we love!
Girl I feel you...I get the same comments about being tired around 5 am when the med pass starts.
Hahaha YES!
Karylyn Williams Thats a HORRIBLE time to get tired, yikes.

I love these videos!! I have just finished all the Prerequisites for nursing school and I’m so excited for the future!
Hey, I just want to say thank you for your content. I’m a brand new LPN and your videos motivated me into applying for RN school. Keep being you girl!
I felt the post second day 😂 “I’m not showering” but I make myself because I always feel disgusting.
i did night shift for 14 years & said i would never do days. i’ve been on days for 2 years now since transitioning out of the hospital setting & it’s honestly the best ever. i don’t regret spending my youngest years doing the craziness of nights but i’m so thankful i’m done with it. i finally feel like a normal, productive human again 😂
Christi Lynn I’ve been doing nights for 19 years! I recently moved to weekend option, so now only doing 2 night, which is fabulous !! I’ve only done days when I worked as IV home infusion . I never want to do days in a hospital!
Patti Hawkins yeah i do home infusion, never would of done days in the hospital 😂 hopefully i’ll be working from home by next year! 🙌🏼
Christi Lynn I’d love to do something at home !!! What type of job?? I did home infusion for 5 years 20 something years agi
Hoping to get a good new routine running when I start🤞🏼
Also off topic , but your hair is beautiful!
Love, an obsessed subscriber 😘😘
you’re such an inspiration i absolutely love ur channel ❤️❤️ i’m pre-nursing right now but can’t wait to begin the major next spring!! ☺️
Currently going in for night 3 of 3. So true what you said about usually having a crazy night when you previously had a good shift! Love your videos!
your videos definitely help me for sure! i’m a nursing student right now so thank you for all the help and tips you’ve shared over the years! 💕
girl I love when videos are posted!!
I get so excited anytime you post a video ❤️❤️
I’ve been following along since 20k subscribers, and to see you with 100k more is amazing! So proud of you and your hard work! ♥️
I absolutely love your videos girl! I work 5 NOC shifts then 3 off your vids are so helpful!
I’m the same way, I’ve been a night nurse for 9 years and function on about 4 hrs of sleep! I’m not a good day sleeper! On my first night, I’m up for more than 24hrs. I feel ya girl!!
Everyone needs to give you respect for everything doctors and nurses do for us!❤️
i’m so so inspired by you!! i’m an enrolled nurse student from australia and i love watching all your videos!! thank you for being the best channel ever 🥰💛
Your videos make my day 😃😃 always love hearing others opinions on healthcare! ❤️
Glad you enjoy :)
Needed to see this! My 3 night stretch starts tomorrow! I DREADDDDD doing 3s! Only do them if I absolutely have to
I work overnight at a hotel and your night shifts give me life 💙
I recently ordered that striped headband!! I love love love your videos!!! I’ve been in such a slump these last few years gaining about 70lbs that I worked so hard to loseIn the years prior to that and you give me such motivation and inspire me to do better. You’re a true queen my dear 💕
I’m a CNA at a nursing home and I have those jogger scrubs and they are AWESOME!!!!! Love your videos!!
Loving your night shift videos~I work night shifts in health care so I can totally relate!! Awesome job!
Ugh. I do a mix too. My 3 day stretch starts tomorrow. I haven’t done one in a bit so I’m not excited for it haha
POSITIVE THOUGHTS! YOU CAN DO IT
I’m in school for CNA in Delaware, I’m starting clinicals in January. Your videos have answered so many questions I have had and have showed me different ways to do things :)
My goal after CNA is RN.
Eventually you get used to the crazy.
so obsessed with you and your videos!!!😍
Thank you my sister is a neo natal nurse and 3 night shifts too. It's hard on her, I encouraged her to maybe find something else in nursung in the future. At least she gets paid well.
I did nights for 7 years as a dispatcher and I literally have no idea how I survived...I work eves now and even that’s a stretch some nights lol
Maybe some day I will feel the same haha. I hear ya! Can be hard some nights!
KLH631 Dispatchers are the best. JS. 🖤💙🖤
Just ordered my Hello Headband and I am sooooo excited!!
Im one of those who discovered your channel recently and I really love your channel. You are such a positive and happy person and it is fun😄
I love your nightshift videos bc I’m a new grad nightshift nurse! 💉

You may not see it now, but you are definitely gonna go far! Love you and all your content!!💕
I just ordered a headband and used your code, I'm so excited to get it. The wide band is going to be amazing compared to the ones I have now for work
Love this! A fellow night shift nurse. I'm a surgical night nurse. We are always full to the brim with ortho. Love the vlogs!
