    Taro is also a staple food in the south pacific, where we frequently cook it in underground ovens (and of course lots of taro chips)! Love from fiji!

    at the end what you poured in the container is what you serve to the clients or it has to be mix with milk? and that can it be left in the fridge?

    • @yanimalscafevlogs
      @yanimalscafevlogs  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      it must be kept in the fridge! We use it as a base for our taro smoothies and taro milk but it needs to be mixed with milk ~

    Thank you! 😊 🙏 How long does that much taro paste last? Refrigerated shelf life?

    • @yanimalscafevlogs
      @yanimalscafevlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will last 4-7 days in the fridge! if you make taro smoothies with it, you can keep it in the freezer to last longer. It will be a little hard to scoop so just freezing in small portions will be okay 😊

    Loved the video! We don't get Taro powder from where I come from. Is there an alternative? Can taro powder be made by drying Taro root in an over and then grinding it?

  • @arlanator
    @arlanator 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hi there, thank you for making this! your video was very helpful! I'm considering using taro root in cocktails, but it looks pretty thick - do you think adding water after blending (and heating to combine) would achieve a more liquid product without diluting the taste? also how long does taro paste last in a fridge, and can it be frozen?

    So good. ❤❤❤ question is.
    After cooking taro. You blend it w coconut milk and taro powder? Taro powder gives you that purplish color ???

    • @yanimalscafevlogs

      hi, yes! the taro powder adds a little extra flavor and color but can be omitted if you want~

    • @yanimalscafevlogs

    I’ve seen you guys use it for smoothies but do you think the paste would work well in a milk tea? Or is the texture not right for it?

    • @yanimalscafevlogs
      @yanimalscafevlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The texture is definitely unique as a milk tea but it still tastes great! We use the taro paste for our Taro Milk drink and it’s pretty popular. We have a black/green milk tea base and can replace the milk with milk tea when requested. But if the texture seems off, I would stick to just the taro powder ♡♡

    What does Taro taste like? I heard people say that it "It tastes like the milk that's left over from fruit loop cereal". Is that true?

    • @yanimalscafevlogs
      @yanimalscafevlogs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think artificial/powder taro faintly tastes like fruit loop cereal, and other people have said so too! Real taro has more of an earthy flavor, like a mild-distant cousin of a sweet potato haha

    • @yanimalscafevlogs

      it might be a baby taro and the grown taro. the smaller ones are known to be more starchy but shouldn't change the flavor~

    I cant bear to watch this, it's so dangerous. You need a kind of cradle to rest the taro in so it doesn't move and a slicer machine to cut it .
