- Miniaturist Journal 106. These past few months I haven't had too much time, but there is progress on the project I've been working on. I've been building and painting the cooking kitchen. And something I ordered online came in the mail this week. I was so surprised by it! Sew fun!

Fantastic way to start my day!!!! Thank you!
My pleasure! 😃
How adorable is the sewing machine..so clever..❤
Isn't it?! Thank you! 😃
I love your videos! Thank you for taking the time and effort to make them for us.
My pleasure Diane! Thank you for your kind comment. 😃
I love watching your videos while trying to go to sleep. Your voice, along with the various sounds of you moving objects around or cutting or even just manipulating that cardboard makes me so sleepy. They are soothing sounds. You’re also just a really amazing artist, and I enjoy watching you craft or talk about your crafts. You deserve to have millions of subscribers. I’m going to start leaving your channel link on popular pages so other people can enjoy your content, too! I love your stories and enjoy watching you unbox or open package from the expos and fairs you go to. It’s fun to see the miniatures you make and buy! Thank you for sharing yoir world with us! ❤😊
Thank you so much Kelly, that's very kind of you. And I'm glad to be of help to get you to sleep 😃 🐑 🐑 🐑....😴
@@MakeMiniatures It is the opposite for me, I get all enthusiastic and excited when watching your videos - sleep would not be possible during that! I know her/his comment was a compliment, but I can't imagine falling asleep to your wonderful videos.
I can see through your window nicely. Looks lovely. My dad was really good at furniture and wood working. After watching you, I want to give it a try. I’m 60 and retired so I have lots of free time to learn. Your wood furniture making skills are amazing and inspiring ❤.
Thank you so much! I hope you give it a try. I enjoy woodworking a lot. There's so much to explore and learn. Wonderful to have the time to do that now. Have fun! 😃
Very cool cabinet work! Thank you for showing us some of your process.
Thank you Heather! 😃
Your cabinet is lovely and you make it look so easy! Love the colours.
Oh, trust me, I make plenty of mistakes. Then I just sigh and start again. Thank you Linda! 😃
Fabulous cabinet ❤
Thank you so much! 😃
Very beautiful
Thank you Susana! 😃
Your cardboard mockup looked a lot better than mine when I make them. Thanks for sharing.
Hahaha! Thank you. Well, it doesn't matter what they look like really, as long as they do their job. 😃
One day dear, your creations will be coveted by some other collector or crafter. I love your work. And the canal houses just blew me away. Hope you're feeling happy and healthy, not overwhelmed by life. I'm also surprised at the quality, the moving parts as well.
Thank you Melissa! I'm okay, just lots going on and no time for vlogs. Things will get back to normal in a few weeks. The sewing machine is good isn't it? 😃
This was lovely! Your cabinet is beautiful and that was brilliant to use those glass slides for the doors! I love kitchens, especially yours!
Thank you so much Jen! If you see those glass slides at car boot sales, snap them up! 😃
20:13 That little rice cooker and hot water kettle are adorable, as is your retro sewing machine!
I agree! I suspect they are bigger than 12th scale though (like the sewing machine), so not for me I'm afraid. Or maybe that's a good thing or else I'd be tempted to buy too many of these miniatures. 😃
The sewing machine is amazing and cute. Very retro, I think it looks 1960s too!
I think so too! It fits my old dollhouse very well, but I also like it in the sewing area of my last canal house. 😃
Very nice cabinet~ the inner colour plays off the floor so well!
Thank you! 😃
The dramatic colour combination you've chosen for your cabinet is Stunning but to be able to view it through your huge kitchen window makes it a double bonus!
Thank you Elizabeth! There's something special about seeing something through a window or open door. Maybe it's because the view is partially hidden, or what you see is framed, or both. 😃
That cabinet is gorgeous Josje, and I love the red interior too, how fun are miniatures with moving parts love it, and you’re so right when it comes to more important things in life than making vlogs, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Thank you so much Julie! 😃
Butifull cabinett!
Thank you Dale! 😃
Thank you very much! I enjoyed that - even if I wasn't able to watch it on the day it came out. You do such dainty work! kindest regards, k
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you Kat! 😃
I love the sewing machine 😊. The golden yellow color in your kitchen is very nice. Thank you for sharing. You can even sew a minature sewing machine cover for it.
Good idea, I should do that! Thank you so much 😃
Beautiful cabinet! I might borrow your idea as I’ve had to redo the kitchen floor in my dollshouse and somehow ended up short of tiles at the back of the kitchen and other than a fake door, I couldn’t come up with anything sensible. A version of your cabinet will do very nicely though and provide a lot of display space as well! Thanks for your lovely videos. Also no need to apologise for ‘late’ videos, it’s lovely when they pop up in my feed, but it’s definitely not a must to post every week!
Idske
Thank you so much Idske! A shallow cabinet is the perfect solution for hiding missing tiles 😉 Plus the added bonus of extra display space, it's a win-win! 😃
In the United States, we have very inexpensive stores (Sell Junk lol). Some of them are called dollar stores, or 99 cents stores they sell all kinds of items including small picture frames and the glass is very thin. They’re very inexpensive if you have a store like that it might have that kind of a picture frame with thin glass, it’s worth buying just for Glass. Warm wishes from Los Angeles Dale.
🎉hi josie, the cabinet is lovely 🎉
Thank you! 🤗

We don't have dollar stores here but something similar. I will look out for the picture frames. Although I have never found them before, you never know do you? Thanks Dale! 😃
🎉hi hun where are you are you alright? I worry can you tell lol . I miss your wonderful videos so i do hope your well and just on holiday. See you soon i hope? 🎉🎉
Thank you! But don't worry, I'm back 😃
Love the red marbled floor, it turned out so well! The cupboard is lovely, the room looks familiar LOL. Did you use the shaper for the top of the cupboard? As to the glass, I've seen thin glass in our resale store that is somehow used in the welding industry? The sewing machine is really cute it will look nice in your vintage dollhouse. it's amazing how many moving parts there are. I bought one years ago, sold as a windup toy, it too "works", LOL.
Beautiful as ever Josje! One question though. I noticed you never prime, is that for a reason? Groet, Jan-Willem
Hoi Jan-Willem, That's correct. But only when I use those hobby paints like Americana, ArtDeco, etc. I find that the paint looks much better when I don't prime. Just sand well, apply two or three layers and sand lightly in between. It gives a wonderful finish. Groet, Josje. 😃
@@MakeMiniaturesHi Josje, I see what you mean. Thanks! Groetjes, Jan-Willem
