I'd say the theme aims to focus more on their shared determination to achieve their goals, but yes it's still VERY impressive that it can fit two people who are so different AND they kept to the old tune from RSE

These leaders are some of my favorites, because this Gen is them messing with nature instead of reshaping the world, as the other leaders, but when they awaken the legendary, their plan falls apart, and realize that what they were unleashing was too much for them to control. In the end, they take full responsibility, and disbanded their teams. In other words, they were the only ones who completed their plan, but immediately regretted their actions soon after.
there's also how they almost ENCOURAGE the player to keep trying to stop them. Archie with his playfully talking down to the player, and Maxie with constantly insisting how far ahead they are for you to stop them. They aren't trying to be evil, but they still want to stop you from messing with what THEY think will help the world. So you STILL want to kick them into next tuesday, despite them not necesscarily being bad people, and I LOVE this game's teams for that. Probably the most underrated teams in the Pokémon world.
Hell. Yes. People always sleep on Team Magma/Aqua. All of the members are amazing, especially Maxie, Archie and Courtney, their motives make some sense, and they talk to the protagonist like actual human beings instead of the usual “How has this brat gotten my hair so twisted” or the ignoring them completely like Lusamine. Plus, they actually want to fix the world.
Also, this generation was to show that humanity cannot control the beastly power that is nature. More than guns, bombs, predators... natural disasters are the most unstoppable force. Nature cam screw us over as any moment. And Maxie and Archie tried to control that power, but they couldn't because it is too much for anyone to control.
well, you could say that Cyrus technically got what he wanted based off of Platinum's Stark Mountain arc. as the other commanders are still looking for him. He could have stayed in the Distortion World instead of coming back to Sinnoh.

Archie is too outgoing and friendly to be a school bully. He calls the player affectionate nicknames (little scamp), has a big heart for pokemon (especially water types), and treats the player more like a rival than a true enemy. Just because he's muscley and wears a cocky grin doesn't mean he's bully material.
OK so- I can see how things could work out with Maxie and his goal. He wants Groudon to spew lava on the wetness of the Earth so more land will arise, it has nothing to do with the drought other than giving Groudon more power to do so and follow through with Maxie's plans. He just wants to turn all of the water to rock. So basically; Maxie plays too much Minecraft.

its so bizarre how years earlier the Pokemon Special manga had Maxie as a strong willed, person who wants to have fun with his friends and is all about individuality and making up a plan as they go on, while Archie was the one with a regimented orgnization, a complex, thought out plan and acted based around what was 'loigcal' to him, to the point of ruthlessness and so the games, when they remade ruby and sapphire, gave the pair completely opposite personalities to their manga versions.

Kevin Sakovich I could just simply state that this song is amazing at the beat drop, however I feel that A: the storytelling is both more relatable to how other people felt, and B: It is far more interesting to present the story rather than just say: "When I first heard this song I didn't think it was that great but then the beat dropped and my opinion changed so now I think it's awesome". I practically fell asleep just _writing_ that example; I'd hate to have anyone be forced to actually _read_ it. So, judging from the amount of upvotes it has, I'm guessing I made a good choice in presenting it in that manner, in terms of getting my opinion across accurately and concisely.

When i was first playing this game there was a thunderstorm, so right when the bass dropped lightning flashed through my windows and curtains, at the point I knew i had a fight ahead of me.
Personally, I felt that the roles Maxie and Archie had in Alpha Sapphire seemed to fit a bit more with how things went, Archie the crazed power hungry villain, and Maxie felt better as the cool, collected antagonist of Archie, who logically knows that Archie is heading for disaster.
Yes, I like both teams as well, and I liked how they did try help in fixing in the errors of their ways. But Maxie's after-battle animation is ALWAYS hilarious to me XD
it's a shame, these guy's ideas were really wholesome. More water = more life???? More land = less fighting??? Maybe it's the the ORAS nostalgia kicking in, but they're one of my favorite villains, solely because of their lack of actual villainry

Playing Ruby as a kid, the music was never that important to me. Playing Omega Ruby as a teenager, 0:14 stole the show for me. its so bizarre how years earlier the Pokemon Special manga had Maxie as a strong willed, person who wants to have fun with his friends and is all about individuality and making up a plan as they go on, while Archie was the one with a regimented orgnization, a complex, thought out plan and acted based around what was 'loigcal' to him, to the point of ruthlessness
and so the games, when they remade ruby and sapphire, gave the pair completely opposite personalities to their manga versions.

I could just simply state that this song is amazing at the beat drop, however I feel that A: the storytelling is both more relatable to how other people felt, and B: It is far more interesting to present the story rather than just say:
"When I first heard this song I didn't think it was that great but then the beat dropped and my opinion changed so now I think it's awesome".
I practically fell asleep just _writing_ that example; I'd hate to have anyone be forced to actually _read_ it.

Playing Ruby as a kid, the music was never that important to me.
Playing Omega Ruby as a teenager, 0:14 stole the show for me. That transition from the starting melody that was very similar to Ruby and Sapphire to the new music was *CRISP* . Definitely one of my favorite team leader themes. At best, my second favorite.

Maxie's partner: a weird orange camel-thing that can't hold a candle to Sharpedo on any aspect. Has anger issues and badly needs a haircut. Would also get punked by Sharpedo in a fight.
