Armand Assante Talks Gotti 2 | CritiX Interview

We caught up with Mr. Assante along with Executive Producer, Mike Motta during the newest fan convention “Mob Movie Con” held in Atlantic City, to discuss the exciting details about the upcoming sequel. Mr. Assante promises that while this film will focus on the last 10 years of Gotti's life which he is unfamiliar with, he will do nothing to compromise the legacy of his previous films.
No word on when Gotti 2 will start production but it has said to be written by Nick Vallelonga (who co-wrote and produced "Green Book") and George Gallo (who wrote "Midnight Run") as well as executive produced by Virtual Cons - parent company behind Mob Movie Convention held in Atlantic City.

The original, was an absolute masterpiece.. the sene where he’s confronted by the guy in the truck while he’s on the phone… was perfect.. so well performed.. you believe that you’re actually watching this go down as your passing by on a New York street.. haha

Gotti movie was unreal. One of the best mob movies to date. Right up there with good fellas in my opinion. Armand is an incredible actor. Very excited for this one.

The original Gotti is one of the best underrated mob movies ever.
I think it’s amazing that despite being a TV movie, Gotti manages to be an amazing movie that way outshines so many of the bigger budget theatrical mob movies that have come out over the years

What ever they do... I just sincerely hope they keep Gotti Jr away from this film. I'd hate to see him ruin it like the Travolta movie. Other than that, I'm all for this movie. I can't wait. It's been a long time coming.
Gotti Jr. gave his blessing and provided the memoirs that this film will be based one. Outside of that we have no idea how much involvement he will have. 🤙
His sister is involved good god no. He’s agreeing to do it but you can tell he doesn’t want the family involved, they’ll fuck it up, there not directors or producers.

@@richardcoats6430 Agreed abiut not dying a traitor. But my response was to people questioning the Gotti family input into the new Assante movie. My opinion was that who but they really knew what Gotti's last years were like,except maybe prison guards. Maybe a couple friends who might have visited

After the disastrous Many Saint of Newark, I don't want HBO putting hands in another old gold.
That was David Chases fault,not HBO....HBO has been the PINNACLE of great series and movies...the best....with THE SOPRANOS being the best TV SERIES in history..no sopranos, no breaking bad,etc....and GOTTI is def 1 if not the best HBO original movie....HBO will do it right....David Chase should've left the sopranos alone....

I’m getting a little tired of gotti…When will a film or tv drama mini series be made about mobsters like carmine galante, or tony accardo, or even Vincent Gigante?
Assante is 10 years younger than Gotti, but by this point 10 years older than what Gotti was when he died. He would have to do a span of 10 years of him in prison, so that’s basically playing 20 years younger. Should leave the legacy of original and move on.
