Hey @InnaSoloTV I like your reaction! So there are Matrix 2,3 and 4 now (5 is in the amking) but they're not that good. 2 was okay, 3 not so much, 4 outright sucked. However there is one thing more: "Animatrix" it is an animated movie, made out of chapters with different stories. I recommend it because it is good. It also explains how the original war with the machines happened, and how the Matrix came to be, but WARNING it is brutal. Matrix 1 has some nasty scened, but that one is brutal.
They frame it as a 'true love kiss' thing, but the more 'real' explanation is probably more like - getting kissed was sensory input to his body when his mind was trying to tell him he was dead. It was the wake-up call he needed to finally 'know' that the matrix was just an illusion.
There's actually a sort of an explanation for why he's alive again, but that's a spoiler for the next movies. And it's not a crystal clear explanation there either.
I am 47, I saw it in theaters with my girlfriend. The "pod waking up" scene blew my mind. I asked my g/f what she understood from the movie. She said, "that if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything". For unrelated reasons, we broke up.
I think most people were blown away as there were almost no spoilers for the movie. The whole marketing was riddled in mystery "What is the Matrix?". Even those who were already in theaters usually haven't spoiled anything, especially since there's a lot of unexpected things through out the movie. I remember having talked to friends after I went out of the theater and just said "You have to watch it" ;) This movie really makes you hold back any spoilers.
I seem to remember that Hugo Weaving ("Agent Smith", also "Elrond" -- which made me think of him as "Agent Elrond"...) was actually trying out different speech patterns to use for Agent Smith, before he (and the producers, probably) decided on the one we hear. So, his "creepy", slightly non-human speech pattern is quite intentional. Good actors are more than just the right face for the job :-)
People imagined AI long before 1999. Alan Turing, and authors like Issac Asimov were writting about it in the 1950s. There are older movies, but check out 2001 a space odyssey
You could argue that ancient Greek myths about things like Talos the metal man are a sort of AI as well. A manufactured object that was also alive. It's a very old obsession of us humans
And even in the modern AI sense, there are early versions appearing in print during the late 19th century during Industrial Revolution. It’s the logical question to ask after a species invents machines (and to @TheGallantDrake ‘s point, this includes even the rudimentary machines in Ancient Greece): “when will these replace me”. Wikipedia has an “Artificial intelligence in fiction” article if (pardon the reference) you feel like going down a rabbit hole. :)
Keanu reeves gave half the money he made in the matrix to the special effects department saying "they where the real reason why the movie was such a hit"
Around the time "The Matrix" came out, my friends had a game store and Keanu Reeves came in to buy a wooden chess set. The wife running the store and selling him the chess set didn't know who he was because she never watched action movies, but said he was very polite and very nice! That seems to be his genuine personality.
I saw this for the first time in a theater on opening night when I was 18. I had never even seen a trailer for it. My friend wanted to see it so I went with him. It took me about half the movie before I could understand wth was going on. This is one of the few movies I watch about once a year.
if this came out today, it would be fully spoiled by trailers and social media. So glad I saw this knowing practically nothing beforehand!! One of my favorite movies and perfect from start to finish.
Social media spoiled it for me long before I finally settled down on watching it. Which is really unfortunate. I guess that's on me for not exiting when the movie came out.
When Neo takes the red pill, he doesn't travel into the future, he wakes up. When this happens, the crew track where his body is in the pod in the real world and detach all the cables allowing him to escape. I was a teenage boy in the 90s. For me, it was the best decade for films & music. Blade & The Matrix are still my all-time favourite films. Seeing them both in the cinema upon release, amongst other 90s classics was certainly an experience, given that I went in blind like you have. Being over 40 now, I do feel that Blade 2 and Matrix Reloaded are actually superior to the first films, but I'm probably in a minority. Thanks for sharing your first-time watch of this incredible film. 👍🏻
I think when it was made, the Wachowskis just wanted to make a good movie. ONE good movie. But when it became suah a phenomenal hit, and the studio wanted more, they said ;yeah, there's a lot here to work with, we can make more'. And they definitely DID. Not just the sequels, but the videogame and the Animatrix series of shorts..... They had a rich supply of material to mive, and they made the most of it. SAtill, no matter how good, nothing can compare to the first-time experience of the original Matrix film. Enjoy whatever additional Matrix material you choose to watch. It's all good, and they alkl fit together like pieces of a much larger puzzle. Just don't expect htat first time experience again.
The best novels/movies/series/et al operate at multiple levels. Some levels are more obvious than others... "Zion". "Trinity". "Nebuchadnezzar". 🤔 And don't forget " *Switch* ". ⇐ As subtle as Agent Smith's speed punching. I'm still pissed that they killed Switch. Oh, and Tank. And that little perv Mouse. I had some coding for him to do for me...
Just had this conversation with ChatGPT> Me: Good morning. Hope all is well. What do think of the film, "The Matrix" CGPT: Good morning! "The Matrix" is a groundbreaking film that has had a significant impact on popular culture and the science fiction genre. Its themes of reality, perception, and the nature of existence have sparked countless discussions and interpretations. The film's innovative visual effects and action sequences also set a new standard for filmmaking. CGPT: I'm sorry if I have given you that impression. I am here to help and answer any questions you may have. There is no need to be scared of me.
The thing to keep in mind when watching the Matrix is that it is a story in three parts. Like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, each of the three movies is only a part of the whole story. One has to watch all three movies to understand the complete story.
Watch the anime series The Animatrix .. which is really the next in the series but tells in short stories more background to how the matrix was created and is excellent ..
_"Is that a floppy disc?"_ No, that was a minidisc, basically a smaller, rewritable CD. Edit: As for wushu (often called gong fu in the West), there is a myriad of different styles. "Wushu"/"gong fu" refers to any Chinese martial arts style, much like "budo" refers to Japanese martial arts. 34:04 is so simple.. The kid try to say "There's no spoon.. We are not at real world.. This spoon is just bunch of codes in this computer system..In the matrix.. " Matrix is like a windows, linux etc.. Everything in this world is designed by machines.. This world is the computer simulation of the real world.. So there are numbered the speed codes, gravity codes etc.. If you know that world is not the real world, you can change the codes.. For example you can change this spoon codes and make it bendeble..Because it's not a real spoon.. :))
3:50 Why? Because the phone was ringing. And whenever there is a ringing phone, a woman must answer it. If there is a speeding truck crashing into it or not. 😂
I got a huge smile when I heard you say, "AI. And we have AI now and this movie is from 99." Awesome. I feel strange every time I use ChatGPT.. I've been out of the Matrix since long ago. I am 39 years old but I live in a 76 year old container! - As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.
By Trinity kissing Neo, I think trinity was forcing his real body to breath. It's the body's natural survival mode. His mind was making him believe he was dead. When she cut off his air by kissing him, the body sent a survival mode signal to the brain to take a breath(inhale from the nose, because he can't through his mouth while being kissed) which also sent a confirmation message that he's not really dead. Once he took that breath, his matrix mind figured it out and his special coding kicked in. He got up and took control. I also believe that Trinity's coding is supposed to link with his, which kicked in at the moment she kissed him. It's like sending and extra life to your team mate in a video game. The Oracle knew that Trinity would be hesitant to act on her feelings until the appropriate time. So to most people it just seemed like a corny fairytale moment where he wakes from a kiss, but it was actually logical science. Btw...Neo is an anagram for One, as in The One.
The first scenes are in the matrix. The opening dialogue is from the real world. When they give Neo the red pill, it allows them to trace his body, so, we first see the real world when the machine unplugs Neo from the Matrix.
When I was in high school, I went into the city on a weekend and was really annoyed when I walked past Martin Place and it was barricaded off. I had to walk an extra block to get where I was going. I mentioned it to my friend at school on Monday, and he said they were shooting The Matrix in the city. Turns out they were shooting the scene in front of the fountain with the woman in the red dress. I'd never heard of it, and had no idea they were shooting a movie in the city at the time. I watched it in the cinema when it came out, and it blew my mind that the city that The Matrix was in was my city! I kept recognising buildings and streets that I'd walked past many times, it was actually a bit distracting. And when we walked out of that cinema, me and my friends were just as excited as you were about finally knowing what The Matrix was.
Also the director of John Wick, Chad Stahelski, worked as the stuntmen coordinator for The Matrix. That's how he met with Keanu Reeves (Neo) and Lawrence Fishburne (Morpheus). When Chad got the chance to become director of John Wick, he reunites his old friends from The Matrix to play John Wick and The Pigeon King.
“Guns. Lots of guns.” Did you notice that that line was also said by John Wick in the third movie, Inna? It’s apparently a callback to when Neo said it in this movie.
Sci-Fi has been considering AI fer darn near a century. I became aware of it in '69 in high school. A computer class that my programmer mother now tells me she was not aware of. Thanks dad.
There are more movies from that franchise: -> Animatrix (here plotline is set between the 1st Matrix and the 2nd part); -> Matrix: Reloaded (the 2nd one); -> Matrix: Revolutions (the 3rd one); -> Matrix: Resurrections (4th part and most recent from 2021).
24:03 yes he broke the floor but you must understand this.. This is not the real world.. They are in a computer program.. They change the codes in any program.. For example, they can change the gravity codes, so they can jump higher, or they can change speed codes etc.. And think about it.. If any file changes any codes in a computer system, what will happens?.. The Antivirus programs can detect that anomaly or file and try to delete it right? .. In matrix, Agents are kind of Antivirus Programs and their mission is protecting this system (matrix)... If anybody bend the rules, change the codes, speed faster jump so much higher etc, the system sees them like virusses and Agents try to delete those virusses.. Or as we see, try to kill them :)) You must think like a windows, linux etc. A computer system in the Matrix.. Think like that :))
I think it's interesting that even the machine intelligence run low level processes on a 'dumb' system that lets the human hackers do things like talk, or walk, without alerting everyone. The only time the agents seem to 'see' something is when a plugged-in human is seeing something out of the ordinary.
Non so quale effetto abbia avuto su di te questo film e a quali conclusioni ti abbia fatto arrivare. A me è piaciuto moltissimo. La prima volta che l'ho visto mi ha dato una sorta di scossone e mi ha portato a riflettere parecchio su quella che potrebbe essere la realtà effettiva. Grazie per la bella reaction, meravigliosa Inna
There are a lot of metaphors in this story, 1 Follow the white rabbit comes from Alice in Wonderland. 2 Red pill or Blue pill, Red pill means open your eyes & see the truth, Blue pill means keep your eyes closed & live in your delusions. Neo is an anagram of the ONE. DÉJÀ VU or a glitch in the Matrix? 🤔
one of the BEST movies of all time it was lightyears ahead of it;s time and the camera filming which we now call "bullet time" was developed for this movie even thos this was 1999 it still looks just as good and fresh today 1/4 of a century later....
32:33 is not "the money" is the "normal life we are used to" delicious food, warm and safe beed, clean bathrooms or something usual as seeing the sun. Do we take the red pill knowing something like this before?
This was a very influential movie, on movies and video games. Unreal Tournament came out around that time; the bots in UT were the opposite of the Agents - great shots, but bad at dodging.
Inna: "Have I ever seen the WB logo gRRRRReen?" Me: "hmmmmmmm.......-checks the profile: born in Ukraine and raised in Italy- ah, ecco! Mi pareva! PAESANA!!!" Otimo video, felice di aver trovato il canale =)
25:43 Morpheous try to say "Free your mind.. This is not real world.. We are inside a computer program.. If you change the gravity codes for yourself, you can jump.. Dont think that you'll fall.. You must tell the truth to your own brain..The truth that you're not in real world.."
4 Matrix's and a release called Animatrix. Little story explaining the history of the AI. Another series of movies with AI control is THE Terminator. Skynet .
i like you...BUT i think you talk too much at crucials moments and miss few things...few informations... you cant be focus...into the movie while you talk or sing... for example at the end..they dont destroy the matrix..only one agent..(not really dead) and you dont know if there is a "Matrix 2" ....impossible if you watch focus ! have you really see the movie ???
AI has been around since the 80s for weather, economics predictions and other cientific stuff, the difference is that now it has been released to the masses for amusement but it's not like that 25 years ago computers and tech did not existed XD
It was their way to show that Trinity and Neo were moving much faster then the normal people. Showing them moving really fast isn't dramatic though so they showed it from Neo's perspective which made everyone else seem to be moving slow.
No one traveled back in time. The simulations imitates life as it was at the end of the 20th century, but they have always been in the year 2199 (or close to it)
Thank you so much for watching

Yeah. Trin kissing him is when Neo fully realized ‘there is no spoon’.
Absolutely. People think its as simple as 'oh she kissed him and suddenly made him come back"?
It was 💯 the 'there is no spoon' realisation.
It is amazing how no one tried that before. It's even more amazing how no one tried it after.

The only time the agents seem to 'see' something is when a plugged-in human is seeing something out of the ordinary.
keep watching.
Non so quale effetto abbia avuto su di te questo film e a quali conclusioni ti abbia fatto arrivare. A me è piaciuto moltissimo. La prima volta che l'ho visto mi ha dato una sorta di scossone e mi ha portato a riflettere parecchio su quella che potrebbe essere la realtà effettiva. Grazie per la bella reaction, meravigliosa Inna
By far the best sequel/prequel the is overlooked Animatrix.
YUP! EXACTLY!! 😒☝👍👍
Loved the reaction.... did not show him flying at the end. All the best with your channel.
you can tell when they are in the matrix from the green overtone.
one of the BEST movies of all time it was lightyears ahead of it;s time and the camera filming which we now call "bullet time" was developed for this movie even thos this was 1999 it still looks just as good and fresh today 1/4 of a century later....
Keanu is pronounced key - an - oo (as like the oo in too).
This movie could have been named ...
"Neo: tumbling down the rabbit hole"
😌
32:33 is not "the money" is the "normal life we are used to" delicious food, warm and safe beed, clean bathrooms or something usual as seeing the sun. Do we take the red pill knowing something like this before?
This was a very influential movie, on movies and video games. Unreal Tournament came out around that time; the bots in UT were the opposite of the Agents - great shots, but bad at dodging.
Three sequels to go...
Yes, after all these years, Guido the Killer Pimp is still a jerk! (Reference to "Risky Business", 1983)
there are no sequels...
@@icoborg Yeah, just like the Terminator and Alien franchises.
@@icoborgExcept for the Animatrix. It's surprisingly good and fills in lots of holes.
The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolution, Matrix Resurrection, and there is a 5th film on the way.
Sadly, the 5th movie would not involve any of the Wachowski
You overlooked the best one by far, The Animatrix!
49:37 "That look. She looked at his mouth. Kissy kiss?" 😂😂😂
😂😂
I was 19 years old and watch this on vcr casette 😊😊😊
Inna: "Have I ever seen the WB logo gRRRRReen?"
Me: "hmmmmmmm.......-checks the profile: born in Ukraine and raised in Italy- ah, ecco! Mi pareva! PAESANA!!!"
Otimo video, felice di aver trovato il canale =)
All that action in black leather and platform shoes 😎 doesn’t get any cooler than that
great reaction to a great movie🤗
Thank you 😊
25:43 Morpheous try to say "Free your mind.. This is not real world.. We are inside a computer program.. If you change the gravity codes for yourself, you can jump.. Dont think that you'll fall.. You must tell the truth to your own brain..The truth that you're not in real world.."
Loved this reaction! If you get a chance you might want to check out the matrix reloaded. The story continues from there
You really love...TRINITY !!! 😁😁😁
4 Matrix's and a release called Animatrix. Little story explaining the history of the AI. Another series of movies with AI control is THE Terminator. Skynet .
saw it in cinema in 1999
i like you...BUT i think you talk too much at crucials moments and miss few things...few informations... you cant be focus...into the movie while you talk or sing... for example at the end..they dont destroy the matrix..only one agent..(not really dead) and you dont know if there is a "Matrix 2" ....impossible if you watch focus ! have you really see the movie ???
AI has been around since the 80s for weather, economics predictions and other cientific stuff, the difference is that now it has been released to the masses for amusement but it's not like that 25 years ago computers and tech did not existed XD
Trinity didn't stop time. That was just a new camera technique used
It was their way to show that Trinity and Neo were moving much faster then the normal people. Showing them moving really fast isn't dramatic though so they showed it from Neo's perspective which made everyone else seem to be moving slow.

Now you have to watch the rest of the trilogy
Pigeon man is called Lawrence Fishburn
Even though you seemed really confused, you got the oracle scene better than any other reactor I've seen
9:01 Oh, you didn't do the Agent Smith impression. Instead you accidentally did classic Dracula! 😄
I had to watch it a couple times it was so good.
😂😂😂
There are a few actors from this franchise that show up in the 'John wick' franchise. A bit of a reunion. See how many you recognize! Nice reaction.
Thank you

No one traveled back in time. The simulations imitates life as it was at the end of the 20th century, but they have always been in the year 2199 (or close to it)
