Waja, is like a Malaysian Crown Victoria. Bought by the public, used as police fleet vehicles & as some taxis too.

Used to have Waja in my house. IMO, i still feel like Waja is the best mass production car that Proton ever produce, the outlook and the interior is timeless, still look good and feel good even until today. Handling is good, as well as the high speed stability. those 1st gen mitsubishi engine and gearbox are proven long lasting.
Other than the power window issues, there is nothing much to pinpoint about it.
It was also the only Proton-designed Proton with xenon headlights as far as I recall! Haha.
But I'd like to try the Renault 1.8-equipped Waja one day. Want to see how it drives.

I have a Waga ( impian in the UK ) it's a GSX model. It's a great car lovely leather trim and nice to drive .☺

I owned this car before back in year 2003. A 2001 mitsubishi engine. Superb handling and powerful..however, low quality built especially the loose door handle and lousy steering buttons. overall it is a good car

I didn't mind the look of the front end on those cars. Kinda cross between a MK1 Renault Megane and a 90s Alfa.

power window is always a problem and often new parts are repaired, the oil pump is also a problem if it always fills the gas at a low level, other things can be considered

2005 is like in this vid , 2001 is the one exported to UK. U can search it in google I don't know how to explain clearly
only minor changes for exterior and interior. 2005 looks much sportier. 2001 looks a bit dull.
This waja version doesn't have rear passenger power outlet.. just sharing..

My Waja have air bags and ABS system. Maybe this own standard version.
