  • The owner of this Proton Waja have kept his car completely stock and in mint condition. The Proton Waja was a Malaysian executive compact sedan launch back in the year 2000. Vips, polices, government leaders and limo service companies in Malaysia used them widely. The Waja after 20 years is still to me one of Proton's best vehicle. It went on sale for nearly 11 years and even sold in UK, Australia, middle east and Indonesia.

    I hv been driving a Waja 2002 Premium model. No issue on the engine n gearbox till now. Drive shaft is still the original till now. Mileage done almost 460K... superb handling n performs madly during wet roads. Had 2 bad accidents but still runs very very well.

    The side mirror is not electronic since it still needs input from the user. Hence it is known as electric mirror.
    Electronic device means it has a brain (or ECU) which allows it to think and act under certain parameters.
    EFi is electronic, the radio.unit is electronic in the sense that it is capable to detect radio stations and stop seeking.
    2 items that are both electric and electronic are EPS and EPB. Early versions were simple electric motors but later variants are adaptive system.
    But nice video. And nice car. Its a clean example. My father bought the first waja in year 2000. I got a base persona in year 2007.
    I now have a Gen2 CPS manual and soon will be getting a waja campro auto - hence surfing the youtube around.
    Your car I believe is what known as Waja EV or enhanced version. IR was launched after the 1.8X and 1.6X but before the campro and last the CPS.

      Hi thanks for watching my video. And giving the info regarding the different between electric and electronic power folding mirror. I be sure to use the terms properly next time. 😁

    Hi Afiq, Between Waja and the 1st gen Persona, can u compare them in the aspects of ride and handling, performance, comfort and refinement(proton weak area)? They r closely priced in the used market, the waja may be slightly cheaper though.

      Hey sorry for the late reply. So busy. Haha. Well I myself own a Persona IAFM. Comparing it to this first gen Waja MMC the iafm feels more powerful. In term of ride comfort, space and luxury the Waja win. The Persona rear seats are just not that comfortable. Handling the Persona is better tho. Built quality I would say kinda the same haha. Just that Persona degin is simpler inside.

      @@afiqbazlibusairi no worry. Then u r d right person to compare them. I guess that d nature of Campro doch engine, high revver. Rev it hard it will outrun the Sohc Mmc engine. How do u find the torque dip of Campro at the midband? Hope u can do a video on the ownership on ur Persona.

    • @afiqbazlibusairi
      @afiqbazlibusairi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The original 4G engine is the one with less issue compare to newer campro and CPS model. But as for the rest of the car. Quality control not the most consistent. If you can find a good condition one like this one it can be a decent car.
