    Paul my friend, been golfing for 25 years, nothing but fast moving arms. I have been trying for the last month, to use that slow easy swing it’s hard when your muscle memory won’t allow your body but when I get everything working your way. The ball just explodes off the club face easy Peezy. Thanks for all your videos I wish I would’ve seen these 25 years ago.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. It is a different way to do it for sure. Takes understanding and wanting to do it. Stay focused and keep doing it. The payoff is huge in the future because when you are 95 years old you will still be hitting it 250+. You don't have to be strong to be loose.

    Today-first time ever! -with my local Pro, I was shown the body swing as advocated by Paul. What a transformation! Very exciting! I knew this was possible but had never EXPERIENCED it before. I have Paul’s earlier DVDs and literature but unfortunately hadn’t persevered with the material and other Pros just did not teach this.A new era has dawned and everything seems so much simpler! Another bonus was better, straighter and more penetrating shots with both irons, 3 wood (from a tight lie with no tee) and the driver. Thanks so much Paul for your help and enthusiasm !

    Hey Paul, I just found you a couple days ago. I'm 50, used to be a good golfer. Over the years my swing has just gotten so compacted in so many bad ways. Thought I'd give this swing a shot, went to the range today, and wow. It works! I'll need a lot more practice, obviously, but thanks so much for these videos.

    • @paulwilsongolf

      Glad you found me. I love teaching guys like you cause I don't have to teach it to you. I just have to get you to remember what to do. Just loosen up and use your body. i am messing around with these other swings people are teaching to get a feel for the different techniques out there. When I do I hit it sideways and they take effort. I like long and straight with a feeling of nothing. I am planning for the future. I've got you by a few years so you need to plan for it too.

    Paul, I played yesterday. Most likely the best round in regards to distance and ball strike that I have ever had. I have been watching your videos for the last four or five months. I have adopted the body swing and allowing the club to feel heavy(really helped). I have wide hips, so this is my new challenge to clear them. I will use this drill. Thx for the content, it is amazing. Just FYI. There are many of us out here who loose valuable strokes on the short game. We are close to the green but have trouble now and then getting the ball in the hole. We need to chip closer to the hole so that we one or two putt...

    I’ve been watching your videos for about 5 weeks and started working on this swing about 2 weeks ago at the range. I was skeptical because I can already swing at 117-122 mph and over 300+ ... but I’m getting older so I said why not try this. I can’t believe it ... I still swing at the same distance and speed but with way more confidence, less energy and pressure on my body. Thank you sir for saving my joints and back.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So glad you tried it. So way less effort for the same distance. Why would anyone wan to keep swinging all out? You see it because you are getting older. Hope others do too cause if they don't they only have one way to go and that is less distance as they age. Stay focused and make this your goal to be known as the person who hit it long and straight but looks like he is barely swinging at it. This is the swing everyone marvels at. It's so cool when you are the one with that swing.

    • @arctichawk1978

      Long irons: th-cam.com/video/kCSoZGENOYg/w-d-xo.html Putting is simple. You need to be target oriented. Imagine a ball in your bottom hand. Thumb straight down the flat surface of the grip. Feel like you are throwing the ball at the target. Practice only long putts 30+ feet and 6 feet or less. That's it. Do that you will be great. I was almost born in South Africa. I can actually work with anyone, anywhere in the world now with my new app. It is live, video coaching. You can find out more here: bodyswing.com/coachlink People who have used it are loving it because now they know what to work on. This is not swing analysis. This is live video coaching.

      You shouldn't be in pain other than when you first try it if you have never turned your hips before. Those who have any pain more than after a few practice sessions would be trying to do this stuff too hard. So get the moves and loosen up but don't fire the lower harder than what you can handle. Build it up slowly.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to go out by yourself with 3 golf balls in your pocket. You don't keep score. You swing at 50%. Drop balls and hit extra shots. It is about actually trying something new when you play. If you keep doing your old swing when do you ever change. With driver you pick a close target a few yards away or way way way in the distance that you cannot possibly reach. You cannot pick a fairway bunker at 250. This is a distance thought. So with new targets your thought to hit the fairway not hit it 250 down the fairway. Keep doing this by yourself until you get used to it. Right now if you play with others you will think distance and you will hit some bad shots. So try my way and get make the switch.

      Nice work! Yes, if you are at 115moh with driver you should be hitting it longer than me. I would check your launch monitor cause there is no way 115 would hit it 250 even with excess spin. Then you need to get fitted because the numbers don't make sense.

    Great drill and like I can practice around the house easily ! Question though...I noticed when I played today and focused on rotating my hips, that when I straightened my lead (left leg), I often ended up topping the ball. After watching this drill, I am wondering if not lifting the back foot enough could cause this ? Or what else might be the problem ? Thanks !

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is jumping. I am turning and the leg locks. You need to coil up to the top then think about turning allowing the foot to come up 3-4" at impact with irons and 5-6" with driver. If so you weight is shifting. So it is a turn and shift by think about turning knowing the shift will happen if you get to the tip of the toe in the follow through.

    Hi Paul, I seem to have very stiff ankle joints so in order to turn my hips towards the target I need to "spin out" my left foot so that my toe points at the target, this is much easier nowadays with spikeless shoes. However everyone (friends being helpful and at a recent lesson) advises against allow the foot to spin but when I do this I instantly fell much less rotation in my hips... Should I just let my foot "spin out" and ignore all the advice to the contrary? Cheers, Clive.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Different people have injuries and issues with their bodies. I would asses this on an individual basis. Make sure your lead foot is turned out at set up. That reduces knee/ankle pressure. Also, you don't want to the foot to twist at impact. If you hit the ball then it twist that would be fine.

      @@paulwilsongolf I spent 10 min doing it last night paul, what a work out and I'm only 28!!, should we be doing right hip back then left hip with the heel off the ground?? To get the whole movement??? Many thanks for this Brilliant Tip Paul.

      And people think golf isn't athletic. as you go through the heel should be up for sure. 3-4" with irons 5-6" with driver.

      @@paulwilsongolf sorry Paul what I meant was can we do the drill doing a full hip turn, right pocket back then clear the left hip on the way through?

    Paul, am I right that turning hip fast is not turning hard?

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fast hard ... same thing really. I am putting a ton of energy into firing them and I have doing this quick (fast) but I have done this for many years. Watch: th-cam.com/video/WpalLq7rAc8/w-d-xo.html

    If you turn the hips to far will that cause you to hit the ball left? all the pro i seen said you have to get the timing right so wouldnt you have to get the turn right speed so you wasnt to far turned at impact?

      what im trying to say can you exsplain what is the correct timing

      this is total oppisite of what single plane teaching they say keep feet still i never understood that i have never seen no good player doing that

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you need to practice to get the timing. This is not that hard if you get the wrists loose first. Get that then you are watching your ball to add more or less legs and hips. Pull = more legs push = less.

      Exactly. This will kill your body.

    5:34 - Can't even begin to emphasize to everyone, how important it is to video your golf swing, both down the line and face on. Anything else and I guarantee you're wasting your time. Video doesn't lie, it doesn't have an ego, it doesn't guess. It will reveal all the weaknesses in your swing. Only then can you finally begin to be honest with yourself and make a plan to improve. I watch people at the range, and they THINK they know how to improve, but 2 years later and the swing is exactly the same, they're only fooling themselves. Champions want to know what's wrong so they can improve it, anything else is an utter waste of time!

      I got it. If you put the hammer down on everyone I won't have to. I can be Mr. Niceguy and no one will tell me how mean I am in my tips. Problem solved!

    It’s the pelvis not the hips. But point taken

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I keep everything simple. To those who don't speak english pelvis means nothing. Everyone knows what hips are.

      Paul Wilson Golf what?? Non English speakers ( who probably have an education) but probably wouldn’t be watching this video know that The pelvis is above the hip region that includes the top of the thigh bone. You cannot thrust the hip. Only the pelvis. Which is what your video demonstrates. This small discrepancy is the problem with golf instruction today. “It’s what I say and you must not question anything “
