What do you think about the jokes about England and English people? Please comment below if you are English or British. If you are not, then comment anyways. :)
0:17 When I first watch to the episode of The Simpsons with Ringo Starr as himself I actually recognised his voice immediately as the guy who narrated Thomas and Friends from seasons 1 to 2
02:59: A mile isn't usually called a kilometre in the UK; our road signs tend to use yards and miles. It's also common for the British to give their height in feet and inches, order pints of beer, and even express weight in stone and pounds. Promoting the metric system is more of a French cultural tendency.
I'm from Australia, and for decades before I moved to the UK and having lived in Greece as well, I just assumed it was Kilometers just like in Au and Gr, I was wrong. Makes no sense as the metric system is used here as well, at least the US has the excuse of using Imperial system.
We have a weird mixed system. In industry (outside breweries probably) metric is pretty much universal. But in common discussion, imperial is still the norm.
I do question why they didn't get an actual British actor to the voice of Hugh in the episode Lisa's wedding would have been a great way to have Hugh Grant in the episode seeing as Hugh Grant is who he's based on
Other than the inaccuracies about the imperial and metric systems (we use both) this documentary is a 98% accurate depiction of English Life. God Save the King. 👑🤴😂🍺🍻⚽
The Big Book of British Smiles 😅 Sadly so true. Forgot our unelected dictator was featured in there Amusing also that the waitress featured in Last Exit is wearing a union flag dress very similar to the one ex Spice Girl Gerry Horner (ne Haliwell) wore at the hight of 'Cool Britannia' a few years later 😮 One clip you've missed is from Wild Bart's can't be broken (season 10 I think) , a parody of children of the corn.
5:44 I find hilarious that they were trying to give these to a Yorkshire or Sheffield accent but it just sounds like a bunch of different Northern accents
There are so many British actors do I think should guest star in a future episodes of The Simpsons I would kill to hear Rowan Atkinson in an episode of The Simpsons
Davi Cameron: The prime minister which is to say I'm the Prime minister will make and emergancy declaration. In three years time me and the tory party will leave the EU and blame it onto the Labour party so that the country will stupidly vote for Boris Johnson and TRUSS LIZ!

You can put the narration in Thomas & Friends and nobody would know the difference
You mean Thomas the Tank Engine
The Big Book of British Smiles always kills me 😂
0:17 - Ayo That’s The Guy From Thomas And Friends

the only ones whining about the use of imperial are fakes trying to act superior because they have a severe inferiority complex
You know someone's never been to England when they think working class people can afford to live near Tower Bridge.
The Big Book of British Smiles 😅

0:26 this line is pretty funny because Ringo Starr like the rest of the Beatles is a vegetarian

Yep. He caught some flack for that, given the Iraq war was going on at the time
@@listerofsmeg884 That's why it took eight months for him to respond.

The Beatles band member and the narrator of Thomas the Tank Engine series 1 to 2
Actually no the the first series was in 1953 with Julia Lang, Thomas and Friends is what Ringo narrates.
Big Ben is commonly thought of as the clock tower, but it's actually the sound made!
Uhm its actually the bell 🤓 and it was named after a boxer 🤓
The Bell is Big Ben the tower is called the Elizabeth Tower.
'To shut up' will never not be funny to me.

Though not an actor, I'd love to see Alan Partridge appear, but although Coogan is somewhat known in the US, his most famous creation isn't

"Mile is called a kilometer". I'm honestly not sure if that's a joke, or something Americans genuinely believe.
5:30 funny enough they call soccer football in England
Davi Cameron: The prime minister which is to say I'm the Prime minister will make and emergancy declaration. In three years time me and the tory party will leave the EU and blame it onto the Labour party so that the country will stupidly vote for Boris Johnson and TRUSS LIZ!
I was expecting jokes about Britain, not just every single time it's mentioned in passing.
1:56 what Marge crazy the rest of the world call it foreign
I think uk is better than the USA from what I’ve seen and just saying in the war of independence the Americans had help from France
I am American but I fully agree with you
