Install Tailgate Assist Struts on Next Gen Ranger. These struts slow the tailgate in an automated motion, rather than the slamming if you open it and drop it.
Hi Mate - I had mine wireed in by the boys at Ironman when they did my front bar and light bar. A lot of guys wire them to the accessories or to a fuse in the fuse box that is always live when the car is on. But I'm not an auto elec, so can't comment on how to do it or how good those installs are.
Hah, I've been searching for an answer to the same question. I was hoping all the wiring looms would be the same and the connector for the factory Raptor grille is already hidden somewhere but obviously not the case. Guess I'm cutting into the park light wiring and not telling the boss 🤣
I wouldn’t cut in to the lights if it were me. I would Look for a fuse in the fuse box that has power to it permanently whilst the car is running and hook up to that.
Mate did one side of the tailgate have a strut ball end already fitted? Mine has one ball on one side..
If so, how did you get that off
Hi mate. Nah it just has a Torx screw on the hinge and a bolt hole on the body. Send me a pic and I’ll have a look michael@hamiltons.com.au

What tool did u used to remove the screw from the tail gate ?
its a T50 Torx bit. They are hard to undo, so be careful. Ford has packed every screw full of loktite!
takes 2 to 3 business days to open
