@@richard.hart. hi mate. They are firm at first, because they haven’t been used. They need to be “oiled”. Gently apply pressure in and off to each side, they will go down. Then gently put them up and down a few times to get them fully primed.

Hey Mike. Any idea how to get the struts to go down? I have fitted them but they won’t go down

Hey mate. I'm no expert but I think you may have installed the strut upside down. You may want to check. Cheers
Definitively mounted upside down that will cause the premature drying up of gaskets
