Thanks for the great tutorials. I'm going to college soon and I've been looking into parkour and free running as a way to keep myself in shape and build some coordination and muscle. These have helped a lot already. Keep being awesome.
found a great location in my city to train the stride, but when i analyzed my stride in slowmo i reckognized that i am using both arms to pull me forward. this destroys my momentum. your tutorial is really helpful and i will try to improve my stride as soon as possible :) keep it up
Thank You for all of the parkour training videos you post I just got into parkour about 2 weeks ago and your videos were the first ones I saw. Thank You.
Thx for the tutorial Jesse! I do triple jump at my track meets and I have been having trouble with the second part, which is basically a strider. I think this will help me in my championship meet in 2 weeks! Wish me luck!
Thanks for all the tutorials they realy help tomaro its training day also thanks so much keep on doin wat your doing you inspired me to do parkour almost a year ago for that i thank you a lot
Good video. As a long time runner (normal, not free, running) stride is very important so I have been wondering how important it is in parkour. This video explained it very succinctly and thoroughly.
thank you for making these tutorials i love them they help me a lot but can you make a short exercise video to get stronger it would help a lot of people
How amazing is it when he talks about the arms being counter to the legs that you can watch the people in the background walking demonstrating the concept.
Hey jessy i want to do parkour I have precisions down and my rolls, and I want to do the other stuff. But I dont want to get hurt by doing them do you have any advice.
Thank you for this tutorial Jesse, all of your tutorials & videos are really great. But, what I don't understand about the Stride is how you land on your heel without hurting your knees or back? I always thought landing on your fingertips is the right way to land ...
I love at 8:33 when you are talking about how when walking your right arm moves forward with your left leg, there is a guy crossing the background from left to right giving a perfect example of what you are describing.
Please make a wall spin tutorial. I've done the palm spin and in that video you talked about progressing to the wall spin and I would like to know how to know how to follow up with that
damn man I wish people around here did some free running ...I start talking about it an people look at me weird lol watching your vids is the closet I get to it ..keep doing your thing
Hey I finally mastered the kong vault thanks to your tutorial and hard training. :) But could you please explain me or make a tutorial for how to do it on a rail because i am still afraid of doing it there! I would be grateful :)
Hey, have you ever tried a hand launch wall jump? (Where you run up to a wall and someone gives you a boost up with their hands, then you run up the rest of the wall) I'm not sure if that's the name, but you can gain some amazing height with that trick. I wouldn't suggest doing the tutorial on concrete though, because you could break you legs if you fall down. Hope you can try it with someone in a gym!
Thank you jesse! Because of you i found 4 rocks, the distance between the first 2 was 8 ft, and then the next stride was 9 ft to a 13 ft precision on the last rock!
Please make a b-twist tutorial or a corkscrew tutorial. Please understand that you are the best on TH-cam at breaking down tricks and explaining them well.
Hey Jesse, I know this probably doesn't have much to do with parkour and the likes, but do you have any tips on running up stairs faster? Might sound like a silly question, but I feel that there is a better way to do it than I currently do.
Hey jesse, can u fo a video on the vinetian plumber from assassins creed. I know it sounds weird but me and my friends want to know if its actually possible. That'd be great :-)
Hi there Jesse! I was just wondering if you have any tips on a good camera for about 1000 dollars, we're a new parkour group and would like to be able to film with the best quality that we can. Thanks from Sweden!
I had already taught myself how to do this and then it's like "WAIT A SECOND" because I used to do this all the time. At my old school, we had these tree stumps lined up outside. I once tried to run along them, and I taught myself and others how to do Strides.
Lol earlier I was trying to do it on a rail also because rails are mainly what I have to train on (if you c my vids you'll know that) so it would be awesome if you did a tutorial on a rail....
as always ur good in teaching,,but i maybe have a dumb prob,,but can u help me with a jump,,,so i mean how to far jump:) plz?? IM still busy eith the basics so...yeah,,,thanx
I think I do everything about like you except for what I do with my arms... I kinda use both arms to swing it through if I'm trying to get a lot of power. What I mean is I swing both of my arms through and push my chest out. I almost have the motion of a breaststroke... It gets me really far though. I swing the crap out of my kicking leg and swing my arms. That might work for some people if swinging the opposite arm doesn't work...
Could you please make a video on striding over gaps with a height change? I don't really know how to explain it... But here's an example: There's this gap I'm working on where I run and use a 2 foot ledge to jump to a 5 foot ledge that's about 5 feet away from the first ledge.
I'd suggest you try going into a cat jump/leap. You'd just have to pay attention to switching from your chest being more foward for the momentum of the stride, to having your chest back while going into the cat jump so your feet/legs can make contact with the wall first, and you can successfully complete the climb up and/or pop up.
+zach girton I know, it's just that it's seriously better than the previous one and I was going through his vids one by one. sorry if I seemed retarded lol
I do strides on the lines of a parking lot. The lines are about 6 feet or so away from each other. I do a run into it and then try to stride all the way through. However, by the 4th line, I end up not hitting the line. Is this a technique problem or am I doing these strides too far apart?
It's exactly the same movement and mindset. You can use the same techniques you use for a kong on a small concrete wall and then just apply them to a rail. It seems you have the skill to do it since you said you could but it's just a mental boundary. Just start easing into the movement and build up confidence. It's exactly the same movement just on a different surface. Good Luck :)
I like the reactions of random people walking by.
Thanks for the great tutorials. I'm going to college soon and I've been looking into parkour and free running as a way to keep myself in shape and build some coordination and muscle. These have helped a lot already. Keep being awesome.

Love your tutorials...I enjoy how you take your time to explain all of the details.
This helped a lot! And I am SO glad that the audio quality is better ^_^
Another great tutorial, Jesse. By the way, what kind of shoes were you wearing? I'm definitely interested in them.
Thx for the tutorial Jesse! I do triple jump at my track meets and I have been having trouble with the second part, which is basically a strider. I think this will help me in my championship meet in 2 weeks! Wish me luck!

I live in England and I am 13. What can you suggest as I am starting out, but you are my idol. Thank you and love all of your videos.
I can finally have the full mario experience Lol
Thank you for this tutorial Jesse, all of your tutorials & videos are really great.
But, what I don't understand about the Stride is how you land on your heel without hurting your knees or back? I always thought landing on your fingertips is the right way to land ...
you don´t put much force on your heel.
I just watched you on American ninja warrior!!! You did the best!!! Good luck in Vegas:)
Remember watching this when It first came out!
You should do a tutorial on effective practicing. I love all your tutorials, but it's hard to know what I should learn.
Great tutorials man u helped a lot Tnx

Here's how I remember it, if you've played Mario or seen him do his jumps, its kinda like a stride but just more dedicated to height.

Can you do a wall spin tutorial please?
I had already taught myself how to do this and then it's like "WAIT A SECOND" because I used to do this all the time. At my old school, we had these tree stumps lined up outside. I once tried to run along them, and I taught myself and others how to do Strides.
They actually had to knock the stumps down because I kept doing it.
it is the same place where were you doing the climb up tutorial, isn't that?
Lol earlier I was trying to do it on a rail also because rails are mainly what I have to train on (if you c my vids you'll know that) so it would be awesome if you did a tutorial on a rail....
I started this on big rocks near a playground nearby its really fun

Can you do a parkour work out video
Can you do a video about the perfect parkour diet?
Can you do some beginning vaults for me I'm 11 years old weigh 105 pounds and am 5ft 3in???
He already put up some videos. Try looking at the safety vault, speed vault, lazy/thief vault, and the kong vault. Hope that helped
helped me alot
Will you teach us how to do a backwards vault in to a backflip?
Could you please make a video on striding over gaps with a height change? I don't really know how to explain it... But here's an example: There's this gap I'm working on where I run and use a 2 foot ledge to jump to a 5 foot ledge that's about 5 feet away from the first ledge.

Unfortunately, the wall that I'm trying to jump to isn't really suitable for cats. In addition, probably lower than 5 feet. Maybe about 4 or so.
Oh shoot!!! Your voice! YES! New mic? GOOD
this video is old
+zach girton I know, it's just that it's seriously better than the previous one and I was going through his vids one by one. sorry if I seemed retarded lol

Can you train easy tricks on trampoline?
