  • In this episode I am once again joined by Tibetologist, author, and Tantric Buddhist Lama Glenn Mullin.
We learn how a mystical vision at Tibet’s oracle lake Lhamo Latso directed Glenn to move to Mongolia for 10 years, where he would eventually receive the nation’s highest honour, the Mongolian Star.
We discuss Glenn’s encounters and friendships with the great Shamans of the Steppes, Himalayan Oracles, and the last Princess of Mongolia.
Glenn reveals the inner workings of Mongolian Shamanism including the training of apprentices, 99 Spirit channeling, ritual and trance practices, and more.

Lovely interview. I've studied shamanism as my day job for many decades and recently returned from Mongolia where I was travelling to sacred sites with traditional shaman friends. I'm taking ngakpa ordination with Lama Glenn in a few hours time and so thought to watch this this morning because of that.

Hi Glenn - I remember you from Lhasa in May 2009. You helped me at the market - the big Tibetan guy brought the dreadful skull section that for some reason he thought I wanted. Meditating in Atisha’s cave and the sky burial were remarkable. You’re a funny guy.

This is one of the better talks that I have heard in awhile. My favorite interviews so far of yours are with Glenn Mullin. I hope that you continue to do them. It would be great to see you interview Thurpten Jinpa someday also.

At around 1:19.00 starts a discussion that is very complicated... If we are to follow this line of discussion then where does it lead? If Thomas Murton and Jim Thompson were alive what would they say to Lama Mullin. In fact what does Lama Mullin think about or discuss with himself in terms of the English Doctor analogy. Who is Lama Mullin in this story? Ethics is cheap when you leave yourself out.

I couldn't listen past 20 minutes and I tried. I HATE THAT PHONY LAUGHTER, which I think it's an imitation of Alan Watts behavior who was another phoney.
Also, why every guest here feels the urge to give a loooooooong story of their life!!??? Nobody cares. These teachers seem to have a larger ego than a stock broker!
