    I get back pain walking and even just standing 🙁🙁

    Well, that explains why I go up and down with pain levels. I start to feel stronger, get real happy and optimistic, and then do more errands, shopping, walking, driving, cooking, etc. Then pain gets worse again. I see now--I was thinking walking = strengthening. Doing more must be good for me right? Lol, not necessarily. Thank you so much for this info ❤

    for so long I was sold the lie of walking improves back pain and even that it builds core strength! Hard lesson to learn. I understand it has uses of course and it remains my favourite thing, but its absolutely not the be all end all!

      It does suck, it is annoying, I don’t think/hope it’s malicious, I think its more a matter of laziness/lack of thought or expertise on the part of the practitioners

    You make so much sense! I've been to numerous Chiropractors and have learned more in a few of your videos than seeing them.

      You're too kind, I think it's just a limitation of the model that they just aren't equipped to help in this way

    I am doing the strength and decompression excercises. I go to PT and thankfully am receiving correct posture instructions. I have very minimal pain, and my PT wants me to increase my walking (with a rollator for balance/fall prevention) from 20 minutes to 40 minutes. My thoughts are it is increasing my leg muscles and stamina. My body becomes tired after 20 minutes of walking. What are your thoughts regarding this and if it is advisable for strengthening my legs? Thank you for your invaluable videos!

      If you're tryign to improve for fall prevention - walking is better than sitting... But its not really a strengthening exercise, there might be some benefits of improving you distance but you'll find that if you improve your strength like we talk about through proper exercises that do this you'll get so many more benefits including the ones they are talking about you getting whihc are very important

    I was wondering what you think of dangling the lower body while pushing yourself up on the arm rests of the chair for decompression?
    The towel doesn't seem to do much for me, as I have a more than 50 degree lumbar curve. not being allowed to do other stretching makes everything feel tight 🥲 I wish I could do your program but I have mild scoliosis and am currently saving up to afford the Schroth method therapy.
    So I can only thank you again for providing some free guidance here 💜

      It certainly doesn't sound like an unreasonable idea - the towel is more there to support the natural lordosis, Sometimes the measure includes the sacrum which would be incorrect and so worth double checking.

    So what is a great source of cardio to do to maintain cardiovascular health and manage body weight. How often should one do the dead bug, squat, hip hinge and step ups during the week?

      The workout that you would do shuold be a challenge and achieve that goal to a degree in the medium to long term but cardio such as eliptical and in due course running could be fine :) (walking would likely not be sufficient to build CV health)

    Lumbar herniatic disc here
    As long as i walk i am ok
    If i sit down more than 10 min, i cannot straighten my back 😤
    Difficult when i am outdoors since decompression out in the open is a bit difficult 😕

    • @BackInShapeProgram
      @BackInShapeProgram  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah that;s because sitting loads the disc more in ways not good for the hernaition - you need to do your rehab work :D

    Hi! I have a question, I was diagnosed with an annular tear with bulging disc that results in minor stenosis. What should the main focus when it comes to physio and healing, the annular tear, bulging disc or stenosis?

    • @BackInShapeProgram
      @BackInShapeProgram  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      all of it - you cannot focus on any one of those - neither can your practitioner - you just have to focus on rebuilding the back :) that's what we help people with in the program :)

    My herniated disc has returned for a month now and I can only walk with a back brace like I did years ago, I used it for 6 months to walk for the first time

    • @BackInShapeProgram
      @BackInShapeProgram  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Try and avoid the back brace and focus on rehab instead - we have dedicated videos on braces
