I had always wanted to build a pc from the case up. I've done plenty of upgrades, but I was worried a bottom up build was a waste of money compared to equivalent pre-builts. Your videos convinced me otherwise. I built a PC for and with my daughter about a year ago using one of your builds as a template. It's been running beautifully ever since. I just wanted to say thank you. Not only did it give me the confidence that yes, I can build a complete gaming pc, but it was a wonderful bonding experience. My daughter loves science and technology and it gave me a chance to teach her the basics of how a computer works. Thank you. Keep it up!
Love what you do Oz. I always build my own pc's. My first ever pc was a Compaq 286 box and I upgraded it by adding a 3.5 inch floppy drive! Also added some ram chips which back in those days (I'm 67) plugged into sockets on the motherboard. The trouble with watching you (and for example The Toasty Bros) is that I get the upgrade itch even at my age! Here in the UK the CPU you chose is more expensive (cheapest I found was £149.99 on Ebay) but the cooler is cheaper, £20.99 on Amazon. Keep on building!
😊 my first pc that my parents bought me was and IBM AT Clone 286, the case said Kaypro, i special ordered a click clack keyboard which was a clone of the IBM keyboard, nowadays to replicate the feeling i use mechanical gaming keyboards, i have one that blue switch and another is red, feels good, I still have the pc upgrade itch so what I do is every once in a while i buy cheap old used computers off of my local area and fix em up just for fun and see if they still work and try out some video games on them.

@17:20 the Graphics Card is already bending - it needs support to keep it straight, it's too heavy for the PCIE slot. It will work fine for now, but in the long run it will break your card (I learnt that the hard way)

I've been subscribed to your channel for a while now and your videos are so calming and your builds are so downright logical that you've inspired my next build. Well it's more like you've inspired me to finish my current system. I've been using a mish-mash of parts for years because I gave all my good stuff to family. An 11400 with no gpu, stock cooler, an h510 itx mobo, 16gb Corsair LPX ram, a 600w Corsair sfx psu, in a Rosewill case with no side panels because there's absolutely no airflow. I'm gonna upgrade to a Thermaltake Versa H18, which I've grown to love after seeing it on your channel so many times. I'm going with a Thermalright Assassin X cooler because it's all I need. I wanted a really clean, white, minimalist, liquid cooled system for a long time, but I've realized I can get a lot more bang for my buck buying the "uglier" budget parts and putting the majority of the budget into the cpu and gpu, which will most likely be a 5700X and RX 6700 XT. Almost a sleeper build. No rgb, no bling, just sensible hardware that gets the job done. Love the channel.

another clean lil build dude!! Love it, I've had the 6600XT for almost 3 years now and it's still performing great for all I play! I got it open box at microcenter, that's why I'm always telling people they don't need a crazy expensive card to get decent numbers w performance.

It's a good parts selection and you always can upgrade any for better performance for little more $$$. I only would install the memory first and then a CPU cooler, because sometimes it will interfere with the memory.

Edit: I actually am glad the 7500f is starting to get some more love. I had a built a pc for my younger brother years ago when Ryzen was just getting big with grabbing him a 2600x and he still has that in his pc with older wifi and my older 2080ti I handed down to him. I was considering grabbing this from aliexpress when I grab one of my handhelds this month.

Great video man! Just noticed that the fans at the side of the motherboard are oriented as exhaust instead of intake (most cases do this because it looks more aesthetic). I think the build would be better if we have equal no. of intake fans too!
The 7500f and 6750xt or a gpu in that ballpark is literally perfect for 99% of gamers. And it’s pretty cheap. Paid $750 for my build. I made sure to min max everything
Oh I also got a Ryzen 5 7500f, but a rx 6750xt gpu and just recently bought a ASRock B650m pro rs wifi motherboard. I still need to buy like 4 more parts to my pc build like ram, ssd, cpu cooler, and the psu. I may swap out the psu for this one if it cost that much. Was going to get the msi mag 850gl which is like 114 for the black unit. Other than that everything else is fine. Hopefully soon I can finally be done with my buile!
If you watch the numbers during the gameplay footage, you can see the build is GPU bottlenecked a bit, so it could be worth it to get that 3070 rather than the 6700xt.
I believe the Ryzen 5 7600 comes with the cooler, saving a bit of money, plus it's slightly faster than the 7500f. Also the PSU should be at least 750W, taking GPU and CPU upgrades into consideration in the future, seeing as we're building on the new AM5 Platform. Also if you can, find 6000mhz DDR5 Ram, as AMD has officially stated that this is the sweetspot. Check that the CL is preferably CL32 or lower, but it's not too important at this price/performance point. Generally, for gaming at least, spending less money on the cpu and more money on the GPU is important, especially if you're gaming at 1440p or higher. At 1080p the CPU becomes more important though.

I know that super budget gaming is your niche but touching onto mid tier builds as well is always super nice, I'd say your audience loves all the content, super budget and mid tier too. I'm really glad you did this one at the higher price point. There aren't many cozy builders, and I've got a $900-$1,100 budget on a main PC replacement and I'm really only interested in 1080p gaming, though I wonder if my 4K/30 TV could do 1440p at 60? If not, 1080p will be fine. This goes in my living room, and I'll pass my old PC down to my two younger sons for their room. Anyway, by giving me an example of what you can pickup secondhand for a CPU and GPU, and this not being a pressing project, I'll have the patience to wait for a good CPU and GPU at killer prices, or at least what you did. Do you have an opinion on the CPU/Motherboard/RAM combos that AliExpress sells? Or are they horribly unreliable?

Many NVMe SSD's (you could check your specific model, but generally most drives using PCIe Gen 4 support this feature) use HMB technology (Host Memory Buffer). This allows the SSD to use a small portion of system RAM as a buffer. Gen4 drives also generally are fast enough that, combined with HMB as RAM, you will not see a noticeable difference in daily activities, game loading, etc. If you saturate your drive with large file transfers regularly as part of your work flow, I would suggest a drive with DRAM.

Living iN USA is OP if you're gonna build pc. The best i can get for 900 bucks is used rx 6600 and i5 12600kf, the most budget ddr5,

@@octodinosaur2419 is that OS dependent? I would absolutely saturate at first building a 1tb Batocera drive. I'm ready for SSD prices to come down.
@saysbadman I am not familiar with that distro, but Ubuntu, for example, supports it fully to my knowledge.

have the exact same gpu, and nowadays i wouldn't say it's a 1440p card, more of a 1080p beast, at least for new UE5 AAA games (unoptimized games)

i resently got my pc upgrade for 719.34 $ same cpu a620m s2h mobo adata 16 gb ddr5 5600 all new and rx 5700 xt 650 watt power supply samsung ssd 256 gb all used i gave my old parts in exchange put this price is form the part with out discouting of my other parts
