The craziest thing about this is, if 10 or even like 7 years ago, someone said that luffys peak abilities will include skipping rope with kaido and making a pizza dough from kizaru and an elder everyone would hate the idea 😂 when ı think about it it seems so silly, but it somehow works like magic. I like the in-universe reason for the 10 minute timer. This pre-recorded message is a one time stream, there isn't gonna be a VOD unless the visual transponder snails can use DVR. There's a clear video component to this. As a man of science, Vegapunk knows there needs to be multiple forms of evidence to prove anything/raise the level of assurance of a theory. Video and audio are those two forms of evidence.
I feel like this would explain why the gorosei weren’t that worried but luffy becoming nika. Why they didn’t pursue luffy more if he is the one thing that could ruin their reign of tyranny. If nika can’t fully awaken without the world believing in him than it kinda makes sense why the gorosei wouldn’t be that troubled by luffy. Because even if luffy somehow manages to awaken the gum gum fruit and turn it into the nika fruit. It still wouldn’t be the nika of the past. The nika they’re afraid of is the one that has the people’s belief and the world now has completely forgotten about nika. It would make them not wanting to put the nika form on the wanted poster make sense too because they don’t want the people to make connections and start believing again. Saturn was also trying to force Bonney to stop believing. It all makes sense
I like this idea, It's a power up for Ussop I hadn't thought of. I have been trying to think of powerups for Ussop. One I thought of is that since Ussop doesn't want to eat a devil fruit, well we are on Egghead and Vegapunk invented giving weapons devil fruits. I think a good power up would be Ussops sling shot eating a devil fruit and it even kinda works cause his slingshot is technically alive being a plant. I figure ussop needs a power up cause if he's gonna fight Van Augur who uses a rifle and now has a teleporting devil fruit, Ussop will need to improve from what we saw in Wano

I'm just throwing this out there, G5 Luffy showed Bonney how to be like Nika and act like him. So Luffy G5 and Boney teaming up is the gorosei worst nightmare, two Nikas playing off each other's antics.
I agree with you and we already know who is joining the crew. Vivi, yamato, Bonnie and momo all of them will be with Luffy soon. Oda loves his zodiac signs so that will complete it now. I hate to say this but this does not look good for revolutionary army at all. To me it points out that Sabo and dragon will lose to Imu or Blackbeard if Luffy defeats all five of the gorosei now.
The Jaden Smith edit had me ROLLING 😭 But I really like the concept! I think it's a great way to parallel how Bonney's powers got weaker because she couldn't believe in the future, if so many people believe in Luffy, it only makes sense for him to get stronger. It's the shonen classic ala Spirit Bomb, but it makes sense for the world to come together and bet on Luffy because it's been that way since the beginning.

With how the planets align, I wonder if they’re all equal in power or if their strength is synonymous to the positions of the planets in relation to the Sun (Nika) with each one being slight stronger than each other. Saturn is the furthest planet of the 5 so he’d be the weakest of the members and Mercury is the closest to the sun so he’d be the strongest in relation to Luffy. Plus that’d mean Venus, the swordsman, would be 2nd strongest and Mars would be 3rd strongest, which would also align them to fight Zoro and Sanji since they always fight the 2nd and 3rd strongest respectively (Ik Mars is the 4th planet from the Sun but of 5 planets their names are derived from Mars would technically be the 3rd closest). And since the One Piece world isn’t entirely based off ours there could be another planetary body in the One Piece world even closer to the Sun or related to the Sun in some way that could represent Imu
I think Imu is based on Earth, Gaia (part of the word Pangea as well), Mother Nature. But at the same time I think Imu is the inverse of mother nature (with the sea, Umi, being referred to as mother nature) which is why I think they're called Imu, the inverse of Umi. I think the inverse of mother nature could be the devil and maybe that's what Imu actually is. Aligns with the Gorosei demonic selves so far at least. The only problem with this Imu thing is that powerscaling wise it doesn't really make sense.
@@RandyTroyI think the metaphor here is the geocentric view that represents false history vs the sun centered view that represents the true history. Imu is earth because Imu is Umi and that is the sea, which is Earth being the ocean planet… so I think with the Gorosei it makes more sense if they are power scaled off how close to Earth they are and not the Sun. They disown Nika and the Sun and the true reality. Imu is their lord so in their false reality, Earth is the center of everything and not the Sun.
Along the lines of Nika being powered by people believing in him, I feel like that's why the Iron Giant activated during the Fishman liberation movement 200 years ago. And I think that's why the World Government basically gave in and gave them concessions. You had a whole race of people fighting for their freedom who probably all believed in Nika, and if it got bad enough that the Iron Giant was knocking on the door they had to give them something for fear of what else could happen if more people began to believe. Then they wanted the robot destroyed as quick as possible so this could get buried under the rug.
I think the iron giant activated to stop the fishman from joining the world government. I think he was left there as a failsafe to make sure that certain events do not take place before the return of joyboy such as the fishman joining the world government in the world government claiming Poseidon as their own

I really, really think that Saturn's "black magic" is just part of his devil fruit. Mythican Zoans often have either one or multiple Paramecia-type powers that coincide with what the creature is. Luffy can turn the surroundings to rubber. Kaido can breathe fire and produce clouds. Yamato can breathe ice. Marco can heal people. Devon can shapeshift. Sengoku has those shockwaves. And so on. So I think Saturn's demonic Mythical Zoan is what's giving him all these demonic mythical powers like pentagram circles that can summon demons, paralysis, deadly eye contact, etc. I can't see Oda introducing a third power system into the story when the first use of it we ever see is on Egghead, and we only have roughly 100 chapters left to wrap it all up in, and Devil Fruits and Haki were built up *so* slowly.
I always love it when a piece of media teaches me lessons about how to consume and enjoy media. Berserk, for example, taught me the meta-lesson to accept that new chapters will come out whenever the come out, or they won't. That you can never get back something from your past, but you can still look forward into the future with hope and despair in equal measures. Meanwhile, One Piece has taught me what it really means to just strap in and enjoy the ride. Sure, we all know "it's about the journey, not the destination", but something about this story just makes that hit on every single level of analysis. This 10 minute "wait" is no exception.
I like the idea of the spirit bomb style effect on Gear 5. I’ve talked about this on Twitter before, but there is an eerie similarity between Vegapunk’s description of devil fruits and Roger’s words in chapter 100. VP: “As long as people’s desires persist, such a thing will never cease to be” Roger: “As long as people hunger for freedom, these things will exist.” In other words, as long as people believe in Nika, or maybe even the idea of freedom itself, the Nika fruit will be out there somewhere. This is why the mass censure of both the void century and Nika is so important to the world government.
Call me crazy but Luffy's sounding real self-sacrificial right now... "until the moment all my friends get away, I'm keeping you right here". Okay tinfoil hat is secure... Luffy's not dumb. This is definitely Sabaody 2.0, and I think the crew is still catching an L, but this time Luffy knows there's Vegapunks win condition is Luffy stalling for 10 minutes, Luff (and crew's) win condition is stalling for the crew to escape. The Sun God is jumped by the forces of the WG in what might end up being a direct parallel to Joyboy's last stand against the 20 Kingdoms. He holds his own long enough to let his allies escape, but ends up being apprehended by the forces of the WG (20 Kingdoms) . They arrest the Sun God. He's apprehended but like Roger with Garp, and I'm thinking Joyboy with Queen Lili, he finds someone he can trust on the other side. This person has one essential task... Ensure the will of Joyboy is allowed to live on in one way or another. Thus Luffy's role in fulfilling Joyboy's prophecy/role will come to a close, at least as far as the parallels go. While Joyboy is brought up to Mariejoa and executed, (death by 16 bullets) Imu keeps his hat as a trophy. His allies are given the task of holding on to the hope that he will somehow someway be back to fix this little mess. His allies do what they can. They protect their poneglyphs as much as they can and are beaten because were separated due to trying to protect the Poneglyphs. Luffy on the other hand probably doesn't need to do much from hereon out. His crew knows the drill, and so do the Grand Fleet. If Vegapunk's announcement is telling the World about Nika or something, then to squash any hope the world has in Nika, they'll have to kill him for the world's to see so, the WG may opt to openly execute this Sun God live. WG will be expecting his crew and his Grand fleet to show up to help him. 5600 odd pirates wasn't it that's what Morgans said? They'll get their 5600, but then also get unexpected SH allies to show up, just to do what they can, to save the person who risked his life to save theirs. Zoro will lead the samurai from Wano (leaving Wano unguarded, Blackbeard has a chance to swing by and pick up a Pluton). Dressrosa, Zou, Fishman Island and Alabasta. Bonney with an army of Pacifista. I'm assuming Dory and Broggy will be there too so the old and new Giant worrior pirates might be there. The Revs would have a good opening to strike. Plus Sabo isn't sitting around letting his only living brother die. Dragon hopefully does something. Cross Guild might add impact because there's bounties on everyone in the Marines and here the Marines will be gathered round like a bunch of bowling pins. One word, *Chaos*. A "Battle Royale" that'll make Marineford look like a joke. Blackbeard can be sneakily taking advantage of unguarded locations with Ancient weapons. Probably Wano if we're being honest. I'll bet my almighty slippers on this prediction. Leaves room for the story of One Piece, to end with Luffy's juorney as a pirate and not with his role as Jusus 2.0.
maybe there`s a parallel between Zoro`s ashura, Robins red devil form, Rayleigh dark king title, ben beckman moon to shanks sun, the five elder forms and Hakuba. A power system we havent discovered yet. Maybe BB has the same, and maybe luffy will get it. Hito-Hito-Nomi and Sun god nika form could be two seperate powers, because we hace no super clear explanation to why Nika is a sun god, other than he will bring the dawn.

IMO the gorosei don't have time to waste on Luffy. I think the gorosei's primary goal over the next 9.5 in story minutes is going to be to take down the labophase barrier and stop the transmission

The major issue with the "Luffy gets captured" theory is that WG/Gorousei have no reason or motive to hold him prisoner. Their goal should be to kill him as soon as possible and snuff out the Joyboy revolution.
I can get behind the belief idea. Another moment that highlighted this were the lanterns in Wano reaching Luffy during the final round against Kaido and his Bajarang Gun.
I know that NI-KA is the sfx for the grin-like laugh but knowing Oda I can't help but think about one more meaning. You see the actual word NIKA (Νίκα) in Greek, it means WIN. It seems farfetched but knowing how Oda knows so much about our world's lore, he could have easily come by the byzantine legend that says about a dream, that Constantine the First (Κωνσταντίνος Α') the byzantine Emperor once had. In that dream he supposedly saw the The Cross, manifesting in the sky. Written on The Cross were the words: "Έν τούτῳ νίκα". (En tuto nika) Literally translated: "With this (The Cross) you win". Luffy's NIKA stance, is that dance, in which he's weirdly shaped like a cross. "With this (Luffy/NIKA) you win".
I've seen crosses with this printed on it and it's been a big part of Nika discussion over the past little bit but I love the way you've presented it here (better than others) and absolutely believe it's on purpose
The faith the crew had in Luffy vs Kaido, heck, the beliefs of all the people of Wano behind him, is what truly awakened Nika. A god’s power comes from faith. Might go for the Gorosei as well, since the world believes them to be absolute. …but imagine how that worldwide faith might flip or shake if Vegapunk said the right things in his broadcast?
It would be really interesting to have a reveal similar to FMA about how the Haki power system is actually fueled by a completely different power system. Haki as it is right now is somewhat based off of "Belief in ones self" but the TRUE power system could be based on "Belief in others" which could tie into the Gorosei believing in Imu (or something similar with the WG) and creating power that way.
Another thing I love about the countdown that some others have noted is that this is a reverse countdown. Usually the straw hats have 10 minutes or w/e to do something. Now they have a defensive countdown, a reversal of the norm, where the ENEMIES have 10 minutes to completely annihilate Egghead and it’s up to the straw hats to defend it. I could see them winning just to assert their Yonkou status but I could also see Oda making them lose so they have to go to Shanks’ crew on Elbaf to understand what’s really important here and what it really means to protect something. That Roger/shanks Pirate King level of being able to absolutely annihilate someone when their friends’ lives are on the line.
My thought its going to be Luffy, Brogy, Dorry and the ancient giant (All three are on the move or straight out heading his way.) Maybe Bonney as well with her Possible Nika future form. VS the Gorosei. A strong possibility as well is that Luffy has to hold the line for the broadcast to start and possibly fail at some stage where the broadcast is "Destroyed". But then to be revealed never to be originating from Egghead at all.
One thing I think is glossed over (not by you cause you've mentioned it several times) but the name of the ancient kingdom has to be a big deal too. Cause the one dude in Ohara who they shot was about to mention it or something related to it and they shot him before he could actually say it. So the government seems to be terrified of that name
Not my theory, but one I heard is the reason V.P. called Dragon was to let him know he is going to pass and basically to get the broadcast ready. Like, V.P. had it ready to go and entrusted it to Dragon to get it in order to show the world his message because he (V.P.) knew the World Government was going to come and destroy Egghead thinking they would stop the broadcast, so he decided to shoot it from elsewhere. AND...the arc began with V.P. warping back from somewhere, that's why he was stuck in the robot and they had to pull him out, so basically V.P. decided this was the way he wanted to die....or he could have left already but decided to stay and pull this final reversal after all the others he's already done.... (but with that being in mind and a possibility, I think V.P. is definitely going to film/ or play what's been going on at Egghead and show it to the world, but something I think we're going to see and the rest of the world as well. I think the Gorosei are going to kill Kizaru...and when they do I think the world's going to see it. This is what's going to set it in motion for the Marine's to rebel. Along with the rest of the mayhem...and the most beautiful thing, MAYBE, the actual broadcast comes from Ohara.
Look for the episode 727 in dresseosa where the mayor yells over the loud speaker to believe and have faith in luffy to beat doflamingo while the dinging of gear four resounds in the back ground and a mother loses her child wearing a kuma shirt and finds him again after the chaos. Also Doffy awakens that episode
I really like the whole power of belief theory but tbh I think Saturn isn't taking any real damage because it's not his real body. I believe the Saturn that's on Egghead island is really just an astral projection and his real body didn't get off the ship. Same with him summoning the other Gorosei. Their real bodies are still in Mariejois and they're just "spiritually projecting" themselves onto the island. Imo the key to actually hurt/defeat Saturn is to find his real body, which is most likely still on the Marine ship. Also I definitely think you're right about the Marineford inversion.

With all planets but Earth being addressed, including the three ancient weapons being the last 3 plants in orbit (Uranus, Neptune/Poseidon, and Pluton/ Pluto). The lack of representation for Earth could be due to the fact that Imu is that that deity but trying to replace the Sun in the solar system, being the center. If Luffy or nika is the sun in which the world revolves around then the antithesis to that would be a black hole. If I’m not mistaken Imu translates to void. Also a stretch but the portrayal of Imu as a silhouette is always tall and skinny which matches up with the theory of spaghettification.

Regarding the Gorosei powers: So far in the story we know of two different ways for "having/using" DF powers, i.e Blackbeard's "formula" for having more than one DF and Vegapunk's "green blood" for the seraphym. My guess is that the Gorosei have found a way around for having gathered the best of the best DF powers in the verse, even combined the powers. It could be magic too, it could be "alchemy" (like in full metal alchemist) who knows? Maybe Imu (whom we think comes from the void century) is a great scientist like vegapunk but pure evil, and have found ways around to stay alive for many centuries and has researched DF powers in depth.
After finally getting around to catching up to Egghead in the anime, I started wondering whether the Gorosei and Imu are just using really advanced technology instead of Df powers or magic. Seeing as the WG would be the only ones to have possibly kept some things from the void century or the ancient kingdom. Maybe even devil fruits are nothing but micromachines that alter a persons DNA/ turn them into a mutant or whatever. Egghead really changed the perspective on a lot of One Piece lore for me
I would love it if Vegapunk drops some lore but when he gets to naming the ancient kingdom the video cuts out just before. Robin is listening to the theory and with her existing knowledge and what Vegapunk says she breaks into a cold sweat...she's just worked out the name of the ancient kingdom. But the video cut out, Vegapunk failed, no one will ever know. No, not again not on Robin's watch. She will inherit Clover and Vegapunk's will and fulfill the dreams of her friends in Ohara. Whilst everyone else is fighting Robin runs through Punk records, she has an idea of where the video's signal is coming from. She runs as fast as she can, using her hana-hana no mi to get over obstacles and to propel herself foreword with her hand wings through the corridors. After what seems like ages she reaches the room where the signal was being broadcast. It was Saturn, with a relieved look on his face he has pulled the plug on the machine broadcasting the video. But robin with a lifetime of determination welling up inside her attacks him with all her might, taken by surprise Saturn can't react in time before his eight limbs are restrained Black Maria style and to ensure he is out of commission robin creates a giant hand from the ceiling which swats him to the floor like an insect with her fishman karate. Whilst Saturn is down Robin walks over to the beeping and whirring broadcasting machines and looks over them. Saturn is hurling insults at her and cursing her, telling her that her and the Oharan's efforts will always be futile and that they cannot beat the world government. She can hear the other Gorosei in the distance getting closer, sprinting in their animal forms, they must have worked out the signal's location as well. With tunnel vision she taps on the machines main screen, she didn't completely understand how it worked but she prayed that her intellect would carry her. After multiple seconds of panic shed done it, she had set up a live broadcast on the machine, with the settings still set to broadcast globally from when the video was made. She hurriedly clicked the button and the broadcast across the globe started, with den den mushis awakening across all the world's seas. Robin leans towards the microphone and starts to speak. "People of the world my name is Nico robin, you are in no doubt confused by what Dr vegapunk just told you but I assure you it was all true. I am here to tell you the name of the ancient Kingdom that was sought after for so long by the people of Ohara, proffessor clover, and dr vegapunk but was kept from us by the world goverment. Everyone in this world has a right to knowledge and I will avenge all those that have fallen trying to uphold it". The Gorosei burst in, Saturn's face is completely shrouded in darkness. Having heard her start to speak while looking, the Gorosei charge at Nico robin, the demon child who was the biggest threat to their dominion since being just a little girl. "Nico robin!!" they bellow with rage. Robin turns and looks at them with a face of seriousness and contempt, she speaks crystal clearly with all her focus and determination pinpointed into her words. "The name of the ancient kingdom was _(Idk Sniper island)_". *Chapter ends* P.s Then in the following chapters out of rage and in an attempt to quell the global uproar she caused the Gorosei kidnap Robin and imprison her in Mariejois which is what leads to the Strawhat's raiding it, Imu speaking to Robin, and Robin apologizing to Vivi after she is also kidnapped and imprisoned with her. I know Elbaf is next but its still a cool speculation for how the story could go imo.
I really like your idea about Nika/Luffy and the power of belief...it makes a lot of sense to me. I had an idea that maybe the message, or part of it, will be about what Sabo saw...including Cobra's message. We don't know when this was recorded but with Shaka telling Dragon he was going to die, Sabos and Dragons ellipses, and Vivi and the world watching I think it would be a great opportunity to tell the truth about Imu, Lulusia, and have Vivi know what Cobra wanted her to know. Could be confirmed by the rescued Lulusia citizens, King Wapol, and Sabo.
I don't expect the 5 Elders to be defeated, but Vegapunk has many contingency plans. So, what if the island has a Self-Destruct like Punk Hazard had? If the Mother Flame Reactor blows like Chernobyl, then the 5 Elders should receive substantial damage and be out of commission for an Arc or two.
Personally, I think Imu and the Gorosei are direct inverses to Sun God Nika. Imu is the incarnation of nightmares and fear. Sun god Nika is the incarnation of dreams and belief. Nika’s power is to make his and others’ dreams come true. Imu’s is the ability to turn that dream into a nightmare. The Gorosei are incarnations of fear. It’s a war of attrition. Who has the stronger will? Also an interesting way to think about the situation here. This is the future fighting against the past. We as people fear the past coming to haunt us. We have to lean into the faith that the future will bring better times. This war is the personification of our fears vs our dreams and wishes for the future. Which means the reason the Ancient kingdom lost is because Imu is the evil they created in their time, making Imu the “present evil” of the past. So the present of the time fighting the present of the time. They couldn’t envision a future without what they created. They lost when they couldn’t imagine a future at all. But this time, it’s a present without the knowledge of the past, so they don’t fear the past, fighting for the future they can EASILY envision without Imu, or the past’s evil.

It's like why is the enemy just standing here and waiting a literal week for you to finish your attack when he could be killing you while you're trying to do it😅

I think that given the big face form of St. Shepherd Ju Peter yokai form is based on a Jikininki a tall thin zombie like spirit with an elongated mouth that is always open and eats people matches the shadowy face very well.
I want Luffy to give his Awakening to Zoro, Sanji, Jinbei and someone else. Imagine him using his Awakening in other people, not attacking, but lending his actual powers to them, to fight off the Elders. There is a TH-camr that does drawings of anime characters and one of their drawings was the Strawhats in Gear Fifth. The TH-camr is called Norridzuan Art. Imagine seeing the Monster Trio with Jinbei in Luffy’s form combined with their other abilities. Since it’s the most ridiculous power ever, why not literally give his crewmates his own power. This could help Zoro understand King’s Haki more, help Sanji potentially awaken it and stuff like that. Heck why not just give the whole crew Luffy’s powers to fight against the WG and Marines. It would look so hype
I know you want Robin to tell the Name of the ancient kingdom but I think the One Piece world needs to hear it from Vegapunk. Of course that just makes me feel "why not both" basically cut away from the broadcast says the name and have Robin say it to the Crew/Audience.
Im pretty sure Luffy will get help very soon. its going to be an almost exact copy without Imu there to the void Century version of Joyboy/ and or Nika difference being that Luffys friends manage to come to his side while in the void centuries Joyboys friends didnt make it and therefore he lost. could also be a part of vegapunks message "come to this guys aid or these creatures will continue to rule for another 900 years"

While Vega could research what has been left of Ohara's knowledge about Ancient Kingdom and even know how to read poneglyths he couldn't possibly have much info for the info dump, so I agree, the only way to pay off the usage of video snails has to be the live stream. Out of everyone who's relevant to the action (unlike Zeff and Nojiko, altough I really like when Oda give's us everyone's reaction) I think we might get also Amazon Lily/Sabaody with Rayleigh and Boa and Impel Down. I don't think it is possible to transmit the signal to Wano or Fishman Island, that is unfortunate .

If Shanks can use a summoning circle like the Gorosei since he's from a Celestial Dragon family (a high ranking one at that) then that would explain how he got from Wano to Marineford so fast.
I think it would make sense if instead of defeating the Elder Planets, that we get a taste of there power the strawhats do fight them abit. But then it turns out that they are cursed and can only stay on land below the redline for a certain ammout of time before having too go & recharge.
Theory: We already saw the kingdom´s name. The ancient kingdom´s name is that of some present day kingdom. Otherwise why bother hiding it right? If the kingdom´s name was Fruit Loops then would it really be this important? Picture for a second the possibility of the kingdom´s name being something like Jaya, Alabasta or Wano. The world´s perception would turn upside down. No PR can save you from that, a reset would be needed (Imu), that´s why a buster call was called before (even the Gorosei looked a bit upset about it), they really thought it was either destroying Ohara or Game Over.
One of the interesting underlying questions that comes out of this chapter… What is Oda hiding Windmill Village from seeing on Egg Head? They already saw G5 poster… something to do with the robot? Hmmm….

The craziest thing about this is, if 10 or even like 7 years ago, someone said that luffys peak abilities will include skipping rope with kaido and making a pizza dough from kizaru and an elder everyone would hate the idea 😂 when ı think about it it seems so silly, but it somehow works like magic. I like the in-universe reason for the 10 minute timer. This pre-recorded message is a one time stream, there isn't gonna be a VOD unless the visual transponder snails can use DVR. There's a clear video component to this. As a man of science, Vegapunk knows there needs to be multiple forms of evidence to prove anything/raise the level of assurance of a theory. Video and audio are those two forms of evidence.

I feel like this would explain why the gorosei weren’t that worried but luffy becoming nika. Why they didn’t pursue luffy more if he is the one thing that could ruin their reign of tyranny. If nika can’t fully awaken without the world believing in him than it kinda makes sense why the gorosei wouldn’t be that troubled by luffy. Because even if luffy somehow manages to awaken the gum gum fruit and turn it into the nika fruit. It still wouldn’t be the nika of the past. The nika they’re afraid of is the one that has the people’s belief and the world now has completely forgotten about nika. It would make them not wanting to put the nika form on the wanted poster make sense too because they don’t want the people to make connections and start believing again. Saturn was also trying to force Bonney to stop believing. It all makes sense

I like this idea, It's a power up for Ussop I hadn't thought of. I have been trying to think of powerups for Ussop. One I thought of is that since Ussop doesn't want to eat a devil fruit, well we are on Egghead and Vegapunk invented giving weapons devil fruits. I think a good power up would be Ussops sling shot eating a devil fruit and it even kinda works cause his slingshot is technically alive being a plant. I figure ussop needs a power up cause if he's gonna fight Van Augur who uses a rifle and now has a teleporting devil fruit, Ussop will need to improve from what we saw in Wano

I think it's a great way to parallel how Bonney's powers got weaker because she couldn't believe in the future, if so many people believe in Luffy, it only makes sense for him to get stronger. It's the shonen classic ala Spirit Bomb, but it makes sense for the world to come together and bet on Luffy because it's been that way since the beginning.

With how the planets align, I wonder if they’re all equal in power or if their strength is synonymous to the positions of the planets in relation to the Sun (Nika) with each one being slight stronger than each other. Saturn is the furthest planet of the 5 so he’d be the weakest of the members and Mercury is the closest to the sun so he’d be the strongest in relation to Luffy. Plus that’d mean Venus, the swordsman, would be 2nd strongest and Mars would be 3rd strongest, which would also align them to fight Zoro and Sanji since they always fight the 2nd and 3rd strongest respectively (Ik Mars is the 4th planet from the Sun but of 5 planets their names are derived from Mars would technically be the 3rd closest). And since the One Piece world isn’t entirely based off ours there could be another planetary body in the One Piece world even closer to the Sun or related to the Sun in some way that could represent Imu

I think Imu is based on Earth, Gaia (part of the word Pangea as well), Mother Nature. But at the same time I think Imu is the inverse of mother nature (with the sea, Umi, being referred to as mother nature) which is why I think they're called Imu, the inverse of Umi. I think the inverse of mother nature could be the devil and maybe that's what Imu actually is. Aligns with the Gorosei demonic selves so far at least. The only problem with this Imu thing is that powerscaling wise it doesn't really make sense.
@@RandyTroyI think the metaphor here is the geocentric view that represents false history vs the sun centered view that represents the true history. Imu is earth because Imu is Umi and that is the sea, which is Earth being the ocean planet… so I think with the Gorosei it makes more sense if they are power scaled off how close to Earth they are and not the Sun. They disown Nika and the Sun and the true reality. Imu is their lord so in their false reality, Earth is the center of everything and not the Sun.

Along the lines of Nika being powered by people believing in him, I feel like that's why the Iron Giant activated during the Fishman liberation movement 200 years ago. And I think that's why the World Government basically gave in and gave them concessions. You had a whole race of people fighting for their freedom who probably all believed in Nika, and if it got bad enough that the Iron Giant was knocking on the door they had to give them something for fear of what else could happen if more people began to believe. Then they wanted the robot destroyed as quick as possible so this could get buried under the rug.
I think the iron giant activated to stop the fishman from joining the world government. I think he was left there as a failsafe to make sure that certain events do not take place before the return of joyboy such as the fishman joining the world government in the world government claiming Poseidon as their own

I really, really think that Saturn's "black magic" is just part of his devil fruit.
Mythican Zoans often have either one or multiple Paramecia-type powers that coincide with what the creature is. Luffy can turn the surroundings to rubber. Kaido can breathe fire and produce clouds. Yamato can breathe ice. Marco can heal people. Devon can shapeshift. Sengoku has those shockwaves. And so on.
So I think Saturn's demonic Mythical Zoan is what's giving him all these demonic mythical powers like pentagram circles that can summon demons, paralysis, deadly eye contact, etc.
I can't see Oda introducing a third power system into the story when the first use of it we ever see is on Egghead, and we only have roughly 100 chapters left to wrap it all up in, and Devil Fruits and Haki were built up *so* slowly.
I always love it when a piece of media teaches me lessons about how to consume and enjoy media. Berserk, for example, taught me the meta-lesson to accept that new chapters will come out whenever the come out, or they won't. That you can never get back something from your past, but you can still look forward into the future with hope and despair in equal measures.
Meanwhile, One Piece has taught me what it really means to just strap in and enjoy the ride. Sure, we all know "it's about the journey, not the destination", but something about this story just makes that hit on every single level of analysis.
This 10 minute "wait" is no exception.

I like the idea of the spirit bomb style effect on Gear 5. I’ve talked about this on Twitter before, but there is an eerie similarity between Vegapunk’s description of devil fruits and Roger’s words in chapter 100.

Roger: “As long as people hunger for freedom, these things will exist.”
In other words, as long as people believe in Nika, or maybe even the idea of freedom itself, the Nika fruit will be out there somewhere. This is why the mass censure of both the void century and Nika is so important to the world government.

This is definitely Sabaody 2.0, and I think the crew is still catching an L, but this time Luffy knows there's Vegapunks win condition is Luffy stalling for 10 minutes, Luff (and crew's) win condition is stalling for the crew to escape. The Sun God is jumped by the forces of the WG in what might end up being a direct parallel to Joyboy's last stand against the 20 Kingdoms. He holds his own long enough to let his allies escape, but ends up being apprehended by the forces of the WG (20 Kingdoms) . They arrest the Sun God. He's apprehended but like Roger with Garp, and I'm thinking Joyboy with Queen Lili, he finds someone he can trust on the other side.
This person has one essential task... Ensure the will of Joyboy is allowed to live on in one way or another. Thus Luffy's role in fulfilling Joyboy's prophecy/role will come to a close, at least as far as the parallels go. While Joyboy is brought up to Mariejoa and executed, (death by 16 bullets) Imu keeps his hat as a trophy. His allies are given the task of holding on to the hope that he will somehow someway be back to fix this little mess. His allies do what they can. They protect their poneglyphs as much as they can and are beaten because were separated due to trying to protect the Poneglyphs. Luffy on the other hand probably doesn't need to do much from hereon out. His crew knows the drill, and so do the Grand Fleet. If Vegapunk's announcement is telling the World about Nika or something, then to squash any hope the world has in Nika, they'll have to kill him for the world's to see so, the WG may opt to openly execute this Sun God live. WG will be expecting his crew and his Grand fleet to show up to help him. 5600 odd pirates wasn't it that's what Morgans said? They'll get their 5600, but then also get unexpected SH allies to show up, just to do what they can, to save the person who risked his life to save theirs. Zoro will lead the samurai from Wano (leaving Wano unguarded, Blackbeard has a chance to swing by and pick up a Pluton). Dressrosa, Zou, Fishman Island and Alabasta. Bonney with an army of Pacifista. I'm assuming Dory and Broggy will be there too so the old and new Giant worrior pirates might be there. The Revs would have a good opening to strike. Plus Sabo isn't sitting around letting his only living brother die. Dragon hopefully does something. Cross Guild might add impact because there's bounties on everyone in the Marines and here the Marines will be gathered round like a bunch of bowling pins. One word, *Chaos*. A "Battle Royale" that'll make Marineford look like a joke.

The major issue with the "Luffy gets captured" theory is that WG/Gorousei have no reason or motive to hold him prisoner. Their goal should be to kill him as soon as possible and snuff out the Joyboy revolution.
I can get behind the belief idea. Another moment that highlighted this were the lanterns in Wano reaching Luffy during the final round against Kaido and his Bajarang Gun.

I know that NI-KA is the sfx for the grin-like laugh but knowing Oda I can't help but think about one more meaning. You see the actual word NIKA (Νίκα) in Greek, it means WIN. It seems farfetched but knowing how Oda knows so much about our world's lore, he could have easily come by the byzantine legend that says about a dream, that Constantine the First (Κωνσταντίνος Α') the byzantine Emperor once had. In that dream he supposedly saw the The Cross, manifesting in the sky. Written on The Cross were the words:
"Έν τούτῳ νίκα". (En tuto nika)
Literally translated:
"With this (The Cross) you win".
Luffy's NIKA stance, is that dance, in which he's weirdly shaped like a cross.
"With this (Luffy/NIKA) you win".
I've seen crosses with this printed on it and it's been a big part of Nika discussion over the past little bit but I love the way you've presented it here (better than others) and absolutely believe it's on purpose

The faith the crew had in Luffy vs Kaido, heck, the beliefs of all the people of Wano behind him, is what truly awakened Nika. A god’s power comes from faith.

…but imagine how that worldwide faith might flip or shake if Vegapunk said the right things in his broadcast?
It would be really interesting to have a reveal similar to FMA about how the Haki power system is actually fueled by a completely different power system. Haki as it is right now is somewhat based off of "Belief in ones self" but the TRUE power system could be based on "Belief in others" which could tie into the Gorosei believing in Imu (or something similar with the WG) and creating power that way.
The Byfrost could be an inspiration for the "Good" teleportation... and matches the elbaf aesthetics...
Another thing I love about the countdown that some others have noted is that this is a reverse countdown. Usually the straw hats have 10 minutes or w/e to do something. Now they have a defensive countdown, a reversal of the norm, where the ENEMIES have 10 minutes to completely annihilate Egghead and it’s up to the straw hats to defend it. I could see them winning just to assert their Yonkou status but I could also see Oda making them lose so they have to go to Shanks’ crew on Elbaf to understand what’s really important here and what it really means to protect something. That Roger/shanks Pirate King level of being able to absolutely annihilate someone when their friends’ lives are on the line.

A strong possibility as well is that Luffy has to hold the line for the broadcast to start and possibly fail at some stage where the broadcast is "Destroyed".

The crazy part of that recording is that all of the Vegapunks featured in it are technically dead.
Not my theory, but one I heard is the reason V.P. called Dragon was to let him know he is going to pass and basically to get the broadcast ready. Like, V.P. had it ready to go and entrusted it to Dragon to get it in order to show the world his message because he (V.P.) knew the World Government was going to come and destroy Egghead thinking they would stop the broadcast, so he decided to shoot it from elsewhere.
AND...the arc began with V.P. warping back from somewhere, that's why he was stuck in the robot and they had to pull him out, so basically V.P. decided this was the way he wanted to die....or he could have left already but decided to stay and pull this final reversal after all the others he's already done....
(but with that being in mind and a possibility, I think V.P. is definitely going to film/ or play what's been going on at Egghead and show it to the world, but something I think we're going to see and the rest of the world as well. I think the Gorosei are going to kill Kizaru...and when they do I think the world's going to see it. This is what's going to set it in motion for the Marine's to rebel. Along with the rest of the mayhem...and the most beautiful thing, MAYBE, the actual broadcast comes from Ohara.

I really like the whole power of belief theory but tbh I think Saturn isn't taking any real damage because it's not his real body. I believe the Saturn that's on Egghead island is really just an astral projection and his real body didn't get off the ship. Same with him summoning the other Gorosei. Their real bodies are still in Mariejois and they're just "spiritually projecting" themselves onto the island. Imo the key to actually hurt/defeat Saturn is to find his real body, which is most likely still on the Marine ship. Also I definitely think you're right about the Marineford inversion.

With all planets but Earth being addressed, including the three ancient weapons being the last 3 plants in orbit (Uranus, Neptune/Poseidon, and Pluton/ Pluto). The lack of representation for Earth could be due to the fact that Imu is that that deity but trying to replace the Sun in the solar system, being the center. If Luffy or nika is the sun in which the world revolves around then the antithesis to that would be a black hole. If I’m not mistaken Imu translates to void. Also a stretch but the portrayal of Imu as a silhouette is always tall and skinny which matches up with the theory of spaghettification.

Regarding the Gorosei powers:
So far in the story we know of two different ways for "having/using" DF powers, i.e Blackbeard's "formula" for having more than one DF and Vegapunk's "green blood" for the seraphym.
My guess is that the Gorosei have found a way around for having gathered the best of the best DF powers in the verse, even combined the powers.
It could be magic too, it could be "alchemy" (like in full metal alchemist) who knows? Maybe Imu (whom we think comes from the void century) is a great scientist like vegapunk but pure evil, and have found ways around to stay alive for many centuries and has researched DF powers in depth.
After finally getting around to catching up to Egghead in the anime, I started wondering whether the Gorosei and Imu are just using really advanced technology instead of Df powers or magic. Seeing as the WG would be the only ones to have possibly kept some things from the void century or the ancient kingdom. Maybe even devil fruits are nothing but micromachines that alter a persons DNA/ turn them into a mutant or whatever. Egghead really changed the perspective on a lot of One Piece lore for me

I would love it if Vegapunk drops some lore but when he gets to naming the ancient kingdom the video cuts out just before. Robin is listening to the theory and with her existing knowledge and what Vegapunk says she breaks into a cold sweat...she's just worked out the name of the ancient kingdom. But the video cut out, Vegapunk failed, no one will ever know. No, not again not on Robin's watch. She will inherit Clover and Vegapunk's will and fulfill the dreams of her friends in Ohara. Whilst everyone else is fighting Robin runs through Punk records, she has an idea of where the video's signal is coming from. She runs as fast as she can, using her hana-hana no mi to get over obstacles and to propel herself foreword with her hand wings through the corridors. After what seems like ages she reaches the room where the signal was being broadcast. It was Saturn, with a relieved look on his face he has pulled the plug on the machine broadcasting the video. But robin with a lifetime of determination welling up inside her attacks him with all her might, taken by surprise Saturn can't react in time before his eight limbs are restrained Black Maria style and to ensure he is out of commission robin creates a giant hand from the ceiling which swats him to the floor like an insect with her fishman karate. Whilst Saturn is down Robin walks over to the beeping and whirring broadcasting machines and looks over them. Saturn is hurling insults at her and cursing her, telling her that her and the Oharan's efforts will always be futile and that they cannot beat the world government. She can hear the other Gorosei in the distance getting closer, sprinting in their animal forms, they must have worked out the signal's location as well. With tunnel vision she taps on the machines main screen, she didn't completely understand how it worked but she prayed that her intellect would carry her. After multiple seconds of panic shed done it, she had set up a live broadcast on the machine, with the settings still set to broadcast globally from when the video was made. She hurriedly clicked the button and the broadcast across the globe started, with den den mushis awakening across all the world's seas. Robin leans towards the microphone and starts to speak. "People of the world my name is Nico robin, you are in no doubt confused by what Dr vegapunk just told you but I assure you it was all true. P.s Then in the following chapters out of rage and in an attempt to quell the global uproar she caused the Gorosei kidnap Robin and imprison her in Mariejois which is what leads to the Strawhat's raiding it, Imu speaking to Robin, and Robin apologizing to Vivi after she is also kidnapped and imprisoned with her. I know Elbaf is next but its still a cool speculation for how the story could go imo.
I really like your idea about Nika/Luffy and the power of belief...it makes a lot of sense to me. I had an idea that maybe the message, or part of it, will be about what Sabo saw...including Cobra's message. We don't know when this was recorded but with Shaka telling Dragon he was going to die, Sabos and Dragons ellipses, and Vivi and the world watching I think it would be a great opportunity to tell the truth about Imu, Lulusia, and have Vivi know what Cobra wanted her to know.
Could be confirmed by the rescued Lulusia citizens, King Wapol, and Sabo.
I don't expect the 5 Elders to be defeated, but Vegapunk has many contingency plans. So, what if the island has a Self-Destruct like Punk Hazard had? If the Mother Flame Reactor blows like Chernobyl, then the 5 Elders should receive substantial damage and be out of commission for an Arc or two.
I feel like Saturn definitely has a DF. Mythical Ushi-oni fruit. He even has the cloud scarf that “successful” awakened Zoans have.

Personally, I think Imu and the
Gorosei are direct inverses to Sun God Nika.
Imu is the incarnation of nightmares and fear. Sun god Nika is the incarnation of dreams and belief. Nika’s power is to make his and others’ dreams come true. Imu’s is the ability to turn that dream into a nightmare. The Gorosei are incarnations of fear. It’s a war of attrition. Who has the stronger will?
Also an interesting way to think about the situation here. This is the future fighting against the past. We as people fear the past coming to haunt us. We have to lean into the faith that the future will bring better times. This war is the personification of our fears vs our dreams and wishes for the future.
Which means the reason the Ancient kingdom lost is because Imu is the evil they created in their time, making Imu the “present evil” of the past. So the present of the time fighting the present of the time. They couldn’t envision a future without what they created. They lost when they couldn’t imagine a future at all. But this time, it’s a present without the knowledge of the past, so they don’t fear the past, fighting for the future they can EASILY envision without Imu, or the past’s evil.

I want Luffy to give his Awakening to Zoro, Sanji, Jinbei and someone else. Imagine him using his Awakening in other people, not attacking, but lending his actual powers to them, to fight off the Elders. There is a TH-camr that does drawings of anime characters and one of their drawings was the Strawhats in Gear Fifth. The TH-camr is called Norridzuan Art. Imagine seeing the Monster Trio with Jinbei in Luffy’s form combined with their other abilities.
Since it’s the most ridiculous power ever, why not literally give his crewmates his own power. This could help Zoro understand King’s Haki more, help Sanji potentially awaken it and stuff like that. Heck why not just give the whole crew Luffy’s powers to fight against the WG and Marines. It would look so hype
I don’t think Zoro would want to use his awakening. Zoro wants to be the world’s strongest swordsman solely through honorable and conventional means.

Out of everyone who's relevant to the action (unlike Zeff and Nojiko, altough I really like when Oda give's us everyone's reaction) I think we might get also Amazon Lily/Sabaody with Rayleigh and Boa and Impel Down. I think it would make sense if instead of defeating the Elder Planets, that we get a taste of there power the strawhats do fight them abit. But then it turns out that they are cursed and can only stay on land below the redline for a certain ammout of time before having too go & recharge.

Theory: We already saw the kingdom´s name.
The ancient kingdom´s name is that of some present day kingdom. Otherwise why bother hiding it right? If the kingdom´s name was Fruit Loops then would it really be this important? Picture for a second the possibility of the kingdom´s name being something like Jaya, Alabasta or Wano. The world´s perception would turn upside down. No PR can save you from that, a reset would be needed (Imu), that´s why a buster call was called before (even the Gorosei looked a bit upset about it), they really thought it was either destroying Ohara or Game Over.
