As a 49er fan, I dislike this pick. Mostly because it came out that Pat Mahomes literally called up Xavier Worthy after his record breaking 40 yard dash.
I’m gonna go ahead and trust Veach on this one. Seems a little too small for the NFL. Definitely have concerns about his durability. The real question is: with the stockpile of WR’s that we have, what will happen to guys like Sky Moore and Kadarius Toney?
Xman was a big asset for Texas. They worked hard to find ways for him to get open against Alabama. Veach says he learns playbooks easily which is really important for us with the largest playbook in the NFL. He also can throw the ball which Andy will love for a trick play once in a while.

May as well have drafted a tackle round 1 then grab a WR round 2 with the WR depth in this class. Maybe even Cooper DeJean/Kool Aid was the right pick then waiting for OT/WR. I just feel like those guys are better at creating separation with their routes & have much better hands. A safer WR prospect with a bigger frame and great route runner we can rely on seems smarter as Mahomes has proved he doesn’t need superstar WR’s he just needs consistent guys. Loved Seth Keysor's evaluation of Worthy as one of the "I'd take that dude" guys. I wasn't sold on the Chiefs taking Worthy until I watched you and Seth talking about all the WRs on Wednesday. That he runs great routes and gets open is such a plus, given that the Chiefs WRs had so much trouble getting separation last year.
I am pretty happy with Xavier as our pick. Think they probably needed to move up when they did if they wanted to get him. You look at his college career and he does some great stuff in fighting for the ball and you gotta love a 12-15 yds/catch average. Andy's offense is going to be a tough transition for a Texas playbook guy, but his coaches said he was one of their hardest workers, so hopefully he can digest it. I would love for this draft to haunt every other team because Worthy landed with K.C.

I’m cautiously optimistic about this pick. Considering Worthy is pretty much build like me I’m a little worried about him getting injured. But if his size isn’t an issue he’ll be amazing. I didn’t think the chiefs would draft him ahead of Mitchell or Legette though and I was really hoping for Brian Thomas Jr.

This is the guy I thought we would get late 1st early 2nd round guy. None of the early pick were going to give us the time of day and it sounds like even in the early 20’s the ones that would wanted too much. Best to keep the number of pick we have get a solid guy.
It's the best first round pick the Chiefs have made in 3 years, I know that for sure. The Chiefs always seem to nail picks in the mid to late rounds. So if that's the case this year, then this is lined up to be one of the best drafts they've had in the PM era.
Xavier Worthy is fast and hopefully he remains durable. The other Xavier (Legette) went in the 1st round which was a mild surprise. He could be good too if developed right and if Bryce Young can stay upright and get the ball to him.

If rice comes back, with hollywood and xavier, oir passing attack just got MUCH better. Xaviers and hollywoods soeed to stretch the field, rice working midrange and kelce working inside. That passing game can be lethal, which would also thin it out for pacheco for his runs.

We tried going above the Jags and getting Brian Thomas Jr but no one wanted to trade with us. Well now it even hurts the rest of the league cause they don't want us having so much speed
Hollywood Brown, Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice (as of now), Travis Kelce, and Isaiah Pacheco. damn son. and on defense, i think it will take a step back but still be good. the only pieces we really lost was sneed and gay. gay we will just miss his sideline to sideline speed, but do still have bolton, tranquill, and Leo Chenal. and at corner, it sucks losing sneed, but we still do have a lockdown in McDuffie. so one lockdown instead of 2.
We know that Veach and Reid and crew have done their research. They know their team better than anyone. Including chemistry and personality. Also, I heard that Mahomes had a voice as well. No one knows how any of the picks in the draft are going to pan out. There might be a lot of busts. Then there will likely be some diamonds in the rough show themselves like a Nacua and Pacheco. Can you imagine though Travis Kelce having more clear path freedom because teams have to pay attention to and respect Hollywood Brown, Worthy and Rice? Don’t forget Pacheco in that equation too. All of these guys in Mahomes and Reid’s arsenal is not what opposing teams want to see. Then coupled with the defense that can put the ball in the offenses hands more often means that there’s a good chance that the offense and Patrick Mahomes will have one of the league’s most productive and dominant offenses in the league as well as one of the most dominant defenses in the league. There’s more draft left. It will be interesting to see what Veach and Reid can do with the remaining picks. They do as well or better than anyone in the league with their later round pick finds. Sure, like every team, there’s picks that don’t work out. Remember though that new picks often times must beat out more experienced and older players to make the team. Also remember that when you have the championship team you pick last each round unless there’s a trade. When you’re last pick or close to it for several years running then other teams typically should have an advantage over you. The Chiefs seem to have a system to work through that. It’s tough to stay on top. When you win then all players want more money. The Hard cap in the NFL limits how much a team can pay. It takes some genius and also some player humility and willingness to work with the team system to make it so the team as a whole stays strong. So far, the Chiefs formula has worked and has worked better than any other team since the Patriots winning teams. Gotta love and trust Reid and Veach and Mahomes.
I guess this next season we'll be more interested watching the punts, cause now we have the punt god Araiza and a pretty good punt returner......we may see some good punt plays defensive and offensive.
I’m SO excited Worthy is officially a Chief!! I’m not worried about his size or weight at all. Tyreek Hill was a small, speedy guy too and he was amazing. Worthy definitely could be the same way. Now the Chiefs can focus on getting OT help, particularly at the LT position tonight for night 2.
Again, in Veach We Trust! Chiefs still prove to be a well run organization unlike the Bills, 49ers, and especially Cowboys this off season. Always a lottery feel to the draft but no real shooting in the foot like these other teams. This still allows some cap money for that notorious LT. With the LT in the bag, the 3 Peat would definitely be even more solid!
This is almost going to be the return of Tyreek Hill for us in terms of the speed that Xavier Worthy possesses in his game. Looking forward to see how Patrick and Worthy work together. If rice comes back, with hollywood and xavier, oir passing attack just got MUCH better. Xaviers and hollywoods soeed to stretch the field, rice working midrange and kelce working inside. That passing game can be lethal, which would also thin it out for pacheco for his runs.

and on defense, i think it will take a step back but still be good. the only pieces we really lost was sneed and gay. gay we will just miss his sideline to sideline speed, but do still have bolton, tranquill, and Leo Chenal. and at corner, it sucks losing sneed, but we still do have a lockdown in McDuffie. so one lockdown instead of 2.
We know that Veach and Reid and crew have done their research. They know their team better than anyone. Including chemistry and personality. Also, I heard that Mahomes had a voice as well. No one knows how any of the picks in the draft are going to pan out. There might be a lot of busts. Then there will likely be some diamonds in the rough show themselves like a Nacua and Pacheco. Can you imagine though Travis Kelce having more clear path freedom because teams have to pay attention to and respect Hollywood Brown, Worthy and Rice? Don’t forget Pacheco in that equation too. All of these guys in Mahomes and Reid’s arsenal is not what opposing teams want to see. Then coupled with the defense that can put the ball in the offenses hands more often means that there’s a good chance that the offense and Patrick Mahomes will have one of the league’s most productive and dominant offenses in the league as well as one of the most dominant defenses in the league. There’s more draft left. It will be interesting to see what Veach and Reid can do with the remaining picks. They do as well or better than anyone in the league with their later round pick finds. Sure, like every team, there’s picks that don’t work out. Remember though that new picks often times must beat out more experienced and older players to make the team. Also remember that when you have the championship team you pick last each round unless there’s a trade. When you’re last pick or close to it for several years running then other teams typically should have an advantage over you. The Chiefs seem to have a system to work through that. It’s tough to stay on top. When you win then all players want more money. The Hard cap in the NFL limits how much a team can pay. It takes some genius and also some player humility and willingness to work with the team system to make it so the team as a whole stays strong. So far, the Chiefs formula has worked and has worked better than any other team since the Patriots winning teams.
Gotta love and trust Reid and Veach and Mahomes.

I’m SO excited Worthy is officially a Chief!! I’m not worried about his size or weight at all. Tyreek Hill was a small, speedy guy too and he was amazing. Worthy definitely could be the same way. Now the Chiefs can focus on getting OT help, particularly at the LT position tonight for night 2.

Again, in Veach We Trust! Chiefs still prove to be a well run organization unlike the Bills, 49ers, and especially Cowboys this off season. Always a lottery feel to the draft but no real shooting in the foot like these other teams. This still allows some cap money for that notorious LT. With the LT in the bag, the 3 Peat would definitely be even more solid!

This is almost going to be the return of Tyreek Hill for us in terms of the speed that Xavier Worthy possesses in his game. Looking forward to see how Patrick and Worthy work together. We all know that Patrick has a pretty good deep ball 🏈. I think we’ll get one more receiver, probably a bigger body maybe after the draft is over, a veteran.

When Rashee comes back, the middle of the field is going to get chewed up by Travis, Hollywood, and Rashee. Worthy will be lethal in the Tyreek role when they dare to go single high!!! Last pass attempt Hill had was in the Post Season in January, 2022. He dropped the pass & allowed the Bungles to go to SB 56. We've since won 2 SB'S without him. Oh & Worthy is faster than Hill.

We also had a horrendous defense when Hill was here and have had a top 10 defense the last two years. Lastly yes on paper Worthy is faster but in pads Tyreek is the fastest man to ever play football. How quickly we forget or turn a blind eye to how good the Cheetah was for us.
