    I currently live in my van in northern California. I am one of the nicest people around. I do not drink liquor, nor do i do drugs. Just a few minutes ago at a campground i had a woman walk up to me, and ask me to move to the other side of the parking lot because she felt uncomfortable with me here. I am parked by myself, and they parked two car spaces away with an entire parking lot to choose from. I guess they didn't read the back of my van. It says in big writing. " If one chance we get to live this amazing life, why live with anger, hatred, and strife? It is so sad that people have to judge without even taking the chance to talk.

      Reality is sad. Some people judge people by the appearance. Good luck. hopefully you will meet some kind people.

    Mark-I’m a newer subscriber and this has really opened my eyes. I am 65 from Iowa and have a spinal disease, so I don’t have but what I get from Social Security. I know if I was in a big city, it would be very hard to make it. I was blessed to get a nice one bedroom apartment 5 years ago. I had lived in an apartment that was not taken care of by the owner. And rent was 499.00. I was on a 4 year waiting list to get here. I don’t take anything for granted since watching you. I think here in Iowa there wouldn’t be homeless, but have been told I’m completely wrong. It’s getting cold now, & can’t imagine anyone sleeping outside. No longer will I complain when I keep my thermostat down to save money, and say I’m cold. If I do “shame on me!” God bless you Mark.

      Well housing is ever more regulated, ever more modern, ever more expensive. It will become worse as the years past. If you buy a flat in Montreal for example, it cost at least 150 000$ and the maintenance fees will be at least 300$ a month, plus around 200$ a month in taxes. So government cant just give those away for free to anyone asking for it...

    • @TheAs57
      @TheAs57 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@InvisiblePeople It all depends on how people live their lives and how the government of that country is willing to help the (poor) people. As far as I know Switzerland / Finland / Iceland and Luxembourg are doing a great job by providing people help. It is very hard to find people sleeping in the streets. It is outrageous that US and Canada got homeless people sleeping in street. yet there is extra wealth in the government to spend on useless things like wars in middle east.

    Something I thought would be so helpful, an app that matches people sleeping rough with others who are in the same position that match close to their personality. Like a roommate finder but for rough sleepers, who could pool their resources together and get inside.

    • @MJSinger10
      @MJSinger10 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trina James - Great idea! Only it would need to be a website as well since most homeless people can't afford a phone. This would be especially helpful and comforting for females who are more vulnerable on the streets, but it could also prove dangerous if predators used it to target weak, naive, or trusting homeless folks. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ You should contact an app developer! 😁

    One thing i have noticed within our society is that the same thing that a person does who has an anger issue, or chemical dependency is happening to the low income, or homeless people. Rather then society dealing with its issues, it has decided to retaliate like a drunkard, by pushing its problems onto the low income. It seems that society is picking on the homeless, and rather then accept that it has major issues it has began to make a big deal about it. I feel society needs a physiatrist.

    A lot of great ideas and it was interesting! BTW... you don't have to be in the video for it to be a VLOG, and it might make people less uncomfortable if you're not trying to squeeze in the frame with your subject. If you just film the same as you would in an interview of a homeless person, it will be less awkward and your audience will be just as informed. Plus, then my head won't spin from the camera being turned back and forth all the time. LOL 😉

    Art and music helps homeless people..NO, I think a permanent resident and regular food is far better

    • @InvisiblePeople
      @InvisiblePeople  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct. Food and shelter are the first priority. But people also need a purpose. Plus, after years of homelessness people need healing. Art and music can help with that. Just putting people in a box is warehousing. People need to thrive.
      Art and music can also help with advocating for more housing.
