Been sipping on bourbon/whiskey for over 50yrs and have many different brands, some expensive some cheap. I never forget my lower proof/cost bottles. Its nice to mix it up from time to time. So many bottles less than $30 are VERY TASTY and I just love my Dusty bottles from many years ago 👍😋💯. Another great video my friend and Cheers 🥃
Man I’m a newbie and while there’s lots of channels I appreciate the level of detail and like making bourbon fun and not so culty. I love the different brand breakdowns and also the different levels plus being open to messing with it add a bit of ice or water. I definitely have the bourbon fever for sure but it’s refreshing to kinda be reminded that chasing allocations might just me getting caught up in hype. I seriously want like a college level course on all things bourbon from a-z.
Thanks for watching! I plan on making even more educational content and also have more educational content on my patreon page. I continue to learn every day as well! Cheers! 🥃
One of the best videos i've come across for people who want to expand out of the base bourbon offerings. I started with the Woodford reserve for bourbon. Now enjoy bourbons like eagle rare and Jim Beam single barrel.
Another great video Ty. The amount of information you are able to fit into the natural flow of the video is fantastic. For me, when I started to get the itch to dive deeper into the bourbon/whiskey scene, it felt like I really suffered from name fatigue, and was really interested in finding a brand that felt new and different to me. Some brands that really jumped out to me early on that weren’t the typical names I’ve known for years, included Redwood Empire, Bardstown, Barrell, and Ben Holladay. I am glad, however, that I circled back to the more familiar names, because I have been enjoying makers mark quite a bit recently.
I've seen people try and keep up with seasoned drinkers and I never ends well. It's very true you can't as a new drinker go O-100 and understand the nuances of whiskey most I've seen try end up either giving up spirits or go straight a mixer. The complexity of whiskey is a journey that evolves over time. I started long ago and went through all the phases from shots to drinking to excess to trying every e whiskey made from bourbon to Canadian rum vodka gin and so on. It took a couple decades to really go back to bourbon and whiskies to enjoy them for what they are. Now I'm a whiskey enthusiast and look for unique pours but still maintain my go to shelfers. Best advice is find something you like and slowly pick out the notes over a couple weeks then try another brand and do the same.
Great advice! Two years ago when I started my journey I really enjoyed Jack Daniels single barrel select at 94 proof? It was great and only 40.00 bucks! Jack Daniels squat bottles are all nice!
Great advice. Thanks. I started my journey drinking bourbon with cocktails. Started with Old Forester 86, the 100, and bought a bottle of the 1920. Next up was Wild Turkey 101 because it was supposedly equivalent to the Forester 100 and more readily available locally. Bought a bottle of Rare Breed to start my bourbon on the rocks tour, but have settled to drinking more 101 on the rocks. I will get a bottle of the Kentucky Spirit for my collection as you suggest. After reading Fawn Weaver's Love & Whiskey i bought three bottles of Nearest (1884, 1856, and Single Barrell) and will probably crack 1 to 3 of the open tonight to watch election results. Thanks again for the video.
What are some other good suggestions for beginners?

Great piece. Thanks for the knowledge!!
Appreciate you watching! 🥃
woodford reserve makes a wheat whiskey, a rye whiskey, and a malt whiskey as well
They do. I like that as a suggestion if someone wants to experiment with other whiskeys and mashbills. Cheers! 🥃
jack daniels barrel strength is really good
Absolutely. 🥃
great video
Cheers, thanks for watching! 🥃
makers mark cask strength is delicious and fairly reasonable price
I’m a big fan of that one as well! Cheers! 🥃
Have you had the Maker's Mark Lost Recipe yet? For $60 for a 700ml, it's a great value and an elevated experience over the regular Maker's.
I haven’t been able to find it yet. The mocha stave was my absolute favorite so I’m sure I will love that bottle. Cheers! 🥃
