my roommates recently asked me why i cook so much korean food. after thinking about it, i realized, maangchi taught me how to cook! i've been watching this channel since i was 13 or 14 years old and i just turned 21. thank you for all the delicious recipes over the years ❤
This comment made me smile. Sometimes I never had eaten it before, but with Maanchi her guidance I managed to make traditional tasting dishes. It always gets some reaction from friends, where did you learn how to cook that? Answer will always be ‘Maangchi thought me’. 😂❤
I'm a Korean American living in Maine. There aren't a lot of options in terms of Korean restaurants here, but thanks to Maangchi, I've learned how to cook Korean food at home for my family. Thank you, Maangchi!!!!
Thank you very much for your nice comments and your interest in this contest! English and Korean captions are up! 영어, 한국어자막 있어요. Be careful, everybody! I found a hacker left messages on your comments, using a fake avatar that looks like mine. They asked you to text them. I deleted all the hacker's comments and reported it to TH-cam. By the way, I'll never ask you to text me. My comments are verified by TH-cam which means that my name has a grey box around it and a checkmark! Happy Sunday!
Thank you very much for your kind warning Maangchi! I’m a blind in social media and always give full credit to people. I’m really very grateful you’re trying to protect your fans! ❤🙏
Hi i'm from philippines☺️ i always love your recipes 😋i'm a filipino but i'm a super fan of korean dishes... I like the way you cook and so patient in preparing your ingredients
Was stationed in Korea and fell in love with the country their people and the food! I am growing my own veggies that go in Korean foods and cuisine because I live so far from Korean stores.
omg Maangchi, I haven't seen you in my YT homepage since the "old" TH-cam times! I used to watch you as a teen, now I'm almost thirty! It made me so happy to see you again. Keep on making these delicious recipes!! Love from Brazil 💚
Korean food, I'm so crazy about it🤪🤪, I've make a lot of your recipes my husband air force retired travel alot and said Korean food his favorite and now in love with Korean food and he introduced me to it now I'm in love too.. Everytime I watch your videos makes me run to store and buy all the ingredients 😊 you so much for sharing ❤️
ahh it's so lovely that you two share an interest for the same gastronomy😍 In my family everybody likes differet foods, cooking can be difficult like this😂
I'm a vegetarian..but I'm so connected to the Korean cuisine...i just love to make it by watching your videos..i have never made Korean cuisine till this ...but this year unknowingly I'm so connected to it .i already tried the kimchi recipe that you taught n i do make it all the time when i get the ingredients ☺️.. .i love all your veg and non veg recipes 💜
I found Maangchi online a few years ago. What delicious food i made because of her. This year, i discovered Korean dramas on TV. Now i am learning Korean, eating Korean and watching all the good Korean dramas. Basically, I should be given a Korean passport and a ticket to Busan lol 😊😊🇰🇷🇰🇷
I LOVE making tteokbokki, it makes me so happy on a cold day! We store our gochugang in the same kind of jar! Thank you for you videos - we used to live in Seoul, when I came back to the US I missed Korean food so much that I had to learn to make all the delicious recipes that I couldn't find here. Now I share Korean food with all my friends and family!
maangchi!! i've been watching your videos for ages, and now i'm in college. i love your recipes because you always tell us the history, and it feels so warm and happy. i can buy super inexpensive ingredients and feed myself and my roommates easily, and it's great. thank you
Being an Indian I am really attached to my food. After coming to South Korea it was difficult for me. but thanks to your videos I am learning about the food here. I'm missing my mom a lot after watching your video 🥺
I hope everybody makes jeukseok-tteokbokki and enjoys the recipe! btw the giveaway winners were announced and all the gift boxes were sent! www.maangchi.com/blog/teeokbokki-contest-winners
Thank you for showing each ingredient in the box...it will help me find the ones I don't already know about. We have a lovely Korean grocery store where I live.
A guilty pleasure of mine is watching videos of Korean street vendors making this dish. Where I am there is no place making this which is sad because it looks amazing! The kit is a blessing for being able to try it at home! I adore watching Maangchi cooking, I have watched videos of her for a few years now. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I've been marathon-ing many of your videos no matter how far back they are and trying out some of the recipes. Very fortunate for me, living here in Manila, mostly every mall, district and street corner, has an Asian grocery where all these ingredients are available and I've been stacking up on ingredients, condiments and spices. Last dish I made was japchae. I also made sampgyeopsal with some of the banchan or sides. My son and I can't have enough, so I will be making bibimbap soon, as well. Korean cuisine is so popular in the Philippines because there are so many Korean communities in cities where young people attend school to learn English in high school and college before going back to South Korea to be professionals. More power to you, Maangchi
Made this today for my family. I had to substitute a couple of things, but everyone loved it. The eggs were a favorite bite of the dish. It was very cozy to sit together and share. Thank you!10/10!
My husband was walking past when you mentioned mandu dumplings and he froze on the spot. He used to take these dumplings to the field when he was stationed in Hawaii. His face 😆Guess I know what to make for snacks today! Thanks for your great recipes. You always make us smile.
I have been using your recipes for a long time now and have introduced many of my family, friends and coworkers to the Korean food I fell in love with when I lived in Korea
I make this all the time because of her! I always have a jar in my fridge. Sometimes I give some away and I always laugh when I hear, “this looks like the real thing”! Duuuh! It is!!!
Thank you Maangchi for the videos you made, thanks to you, all the korean food I make is very nice It's happening. Although I am 16 years old, thanks to you, I cook from world cuisines thank you for the Turkish subtitles 💖💖💖 (I used Google translate and if the sentences are wrong I apologize)

Love your cooking show, fun n easy to understand! I have learned many Korean dishes n shoeing off at the dinner n parties! Thank you Maangchi, you are a wonderful chef ! ❤
Tteokbokki is my go to comfort food, I’m a purist so I’m not doing rose or carbonara. I have a Gochujang addiction and if my eyes aren’t running, it’s not spicy enough. Thank you for teaching those of us in Canada the joy of Korean cooking. It has been a weekly tradition for me, and when depression sets in, I make rice cake. The sauce I made yesterday included black pepper sauce and a touch of maple syrup, Grade AA straight from the tree as I didn’t have sugar. Turned out beautiful.
My family and I love watching you cook then we have to order the stuff we want from Amazon because we don't have any Korean grocery stores within 150 miles of us. You are an amazing beautiful woman who always lifts our spirits when we watch you. ❤️💖
OMG this is so delicious everything you make is delicious ❤ I made my own kimchi by following your recipes and ordered everything I needed like Korean chili powder and I have to say it came out soooo good 😊 I’m going to make this recipe on my days off ❤❤❤ thank you for inviting us into a part of your life and showing us new things !
I made this with my koren friends but I insisted on having mangchi's video running during dinner so we wouldn t get her order wrong ;D I was declared crazy but everybody played along!!!
the rice and seaweed combi at the end is so good. I've tried it in a local restaurant in Seoul. Super delish even though you might already be full from the main stew dish.
I love how fun and social so much Korean food is. It’s some of the best party food and Maagnchi always brings the party! That rice dish at the end was just awesome! If that amazing stew doesn’t fill you up, then the rice certainly will!
I make all the time your recipe of pan (bread)and every time that I make it I remember the story of your mom making it for you and your siblings after learning from a friend. Make me remembering when my mom tells me stories every time that she was cooking.
I have fallen in love 💗 with your recipes. Due to health, I have had to cut simple carbs from my diet ( I was having 40-50 blood sugar crashes every day). Your recipes have helped me learn to cook enjoyable, filling meals that don't affect my blood sugar. Thank you for taking time to teach all of us around the world.
Love watching every one of your videos and love Korean food! My twin daughters have a very good Korean friend at their high school just opened a Korean restaurant here locally. My daughter was invited to the soft opening of the restaurant last weekend. She was so excited and told me she loved the Korean fried chicken so much which has a touch of Korean spicy flavor! Looking forward to more of the recipes from your channel. Happy cooking! 🥂💐

This is a great idea! I live in NYC and have an HMart not too far, so I can just go buy the needed items if I don't have them yet at home. So no need for me personally enter, but I am sure any of those who'd enter and win a box will have a blast! Thank you for all you do!
Amazing recipe. For those who have difficulties memorising its Korean name, think of "Jigsaw-tteokbokki", because it's much like a jigsaw puzzle: it's made by putting all those ingredients together!
I have made so many of my favorite Korean recipes at home thanks to you Maangchi and i can not thank you enough for showing us how to make your food 🍲 ❤ And I am definitely going to try this latest recipe that you just did because the food and the sauce looks so amazing; I love spicy food 💥 So once again thank you so much for your wonderful dishes and your great personality; we all just love you 🫶🏾 Blessings to you and your family🥰🥳💫

I'm an American born Korean and my husband is American born Thai but we have 2 young boys. My oldest is 5 years old and he loves his grandma's kimchi, ghim, jjajangmyun and most recently jjajang ddukbokki! This is too spicy for him but I make a jjajang sauce for our ddukbokki with all the same toppings! Thank you for this recipe. I'll make this for me and my husband!
I love your videos and your recipes! We do not have a Korean grocery here, but I often travel to other areas to shop and order online so I can make your recipes. They are always so delicious. Thank you!

Love your channel. I have made your Traditional Kimchi for years....everybody that eats it says it the best they have ever had.
Good luck with your Korean cooking!
Omg I love her so so much! Makes Korean cooking easy, fun and enjoyable!
I love your videos and your recipes! We do not have a Korean grocery here, but I often travel to other areas to shop and order online so I can make your recipes. They are always so delicious. Thank you!
