It has caused myocarditis, afib, strokes, blood clots, and higher blood pressure. Ashari Hughes, 16, died on a football field in January. Preston Blair Settles, 15, died during a basketball game in February 2022.

Praying for him to make a full recovery. I remember Reggie Lewis and Hank Gathers both was well on their way to having geat careers before tragically losing their lives. Even when Bron recovers they will have to be very careful in moving forward because it could happen again.

As a father that the worst fear is anything happening to your child. I’m glad he’s doing ok now. But you just scratch your head at this happening to an 18 year old!!! It’s scary for an older person but for a young man like this it’s truly terrifying. I’m just glad it didn’t end worse and I hope it’s an isolated incident that has no further complications for this young man’s dreams and I’m Praying for him and his family.

As a doctor, I can tell you this is SCARY! If you’ve never witnessed one before, I can tell you that it is one of the scariest situations as a doctor: LITERALLY every second matters. When this happens in the hospital, it’s all hands on deck. This usually doesn’t happen to young people but when it does, it’s historically fatal.
So happy he’s in stable condition. Let’s all keep him and the family in thoughts, prayers, good vibes, or whatever you subscribe to daily to promote positivity!
