Hi! I reverse-coded my negative statements/items, and got a Cronbach alpha of 0.5. I found out that if I deleted one of the items that I reverse-coded, the Cronbach alpha increased to 0.7. So should I undo the reverse coding of the item that made my Cronbach alpha low, or just delete it? I would delete it however, I kinda think that statement is important.

You could reverse code some items to improve the reliability scores
if i got 4 variables, each variables got 4 questions, do i insert the 4 questions or find the mean of 4 questions to insert into the test?
Why would you need the mean?
