Good info! Thank you! How would you fix a side dot that is not totally in the centre? I have this guitar thats really perfect, except this one dot on 21st fret, that is 2mm off the centre. Drilling it out and putting a bigger dot to cover it up? But than i'd have to do all the dots, and they would be way to big. Paint it? Any ideas?
Hmm, it sounds like it’s on a finished guitar? If you are midway through building a guitar then the fingerboard edge could be taken off on the jointer then a new binding glued in and dots redone. Does the guitar have some sort of binding? Or can you see the fret slots on the edge of the fingerboard?
@@SamuelBlues- Okay yeah, that’s trickier. A good repair shop should be able to drill out the dot, fill it with a matching wood to the fretboard, colour match, then drill a new one in and refinish… but it might be better to just live with it. Haha
Great video. Thanks!
You’re welcome! And thanks!

@zachlefebvre4825 On a finished guitar yes, and has no binding.
I guess I just have to accept it. :)

you can do it the way I do it, by hand, then screw it up, then try to fix it. And hate yourself.
But I'll try yours.
I also like to forget to do it until it's glued on. I will try to not do this going forward.
Hahaha, how do you think I came up with this method? ;)
Been there… felt that way.
Yes! There have been so many times that I have almost done that! 🤦🏻
