This actually would have been a nice addition. I heard someone mention that TWS was one of the most "real" MCU movies because we didn't have a bunch of aliens and a giant green guy, we had a corrupt government-affiliated organization and an assassin killing regular people. Adding a scene where a bunch of guys with assault rifles walk into a high school gym would have added to the reality and scariness. That's probably why they cut it though.
State terrorism and political commentary all added in one scene. Yep.
Its a college campus, I go there
Adding to the scariness would probably be those people in the gym thinking that some sort of government or private black ops force is looking for someone who works or studies there, meaning they fear they could be associated with someone they knew who is doing really really bad or unwanted stuff.
They shouldve kept this scene to show how smart Cap is!!
Smart enough to know not to where your spy outfit when in hiding. That's pretty much self explanatory and you get that regardless of whether or not they actually show what happens to the suit.
I think there is enough proof in the movies especially the first one when he took down the flag. I think that explained why he needed to steal his old uniform in the end.
Yeah but then he wouldnt be able to use that suit for the Avengers 2. If you look closely at the new one you can see its the same suit jusy with some modifications and new paint work
Sheena Mistry I know it's a bit late but it is because Hawkeye was in the original script, he was to take down Cap but when Cap closes in, Hawkeye whispered "there's a tracker on your suit, punch me so it would look like real, there's a quinjet above us". That's the reason why he abandoned the suit and instead use the WW2 suit (also to disrupt Bucky's head). Jeremy Renner was busy filming for Bourne Legacy and Mission Impossible: 5 that why it was cut.

I read an article that said that they originally wanted Hawkeye to be sent after Steve to take him down, but instead he warns him about the suit, hence why Steve drops it off. I'm ok either way, but I'm still pretty disappointed it couldn't get in Dx
Shoot, if I saw that bag lying around I'd take that sucker. That suit is so epic. Hydra would probably be chasing my butt around but who cares.

this scene should have been in the movie
This scene was to follow on from a scene that was in the script that they didn't film. The scene had Hawkeye turn up and fight Captain America, but it is a rouse for him to warn Captain America that they are being watched and that their is a tracking device on his suit.
I think they deleted this pretty cool scene because see Shield being so aggressive (with guns at a school and throwing people to the ground) would have seemed strange, and wouldn't fit with the lie that Shield it's Shield.
Yeah, Hydra never broke their cover before Cap’s speech. When Strike went to capture Steve and Nat at the mall, they wore plainclothes and entered through the back, and Hydra used unmarked Russian mercenaries (my headcanon: Wagner Group soldiers) to support Bucky on the Highway and only deployed Strike once they could frame the trio as terrorists. This scene would’ve made Hydra seem stupidly obvious about their existence.

Shoulda had like Rick Fox or someone just chillin on the bleachers, wearing the helmet, drinking a powerade, and when the strapped SHIELD dudes come in, just be like "Sup' Bros?!? Check out this sweet helmet I got."
Better yet have a homeless Stan Lee with the helmet.

buddy, if that scene was still here, CinemeSins would have never questioned why Cap took the old suit from the smithsonian, thus proving they don't think logically and outside of the box AND don't know about the MCU wiki,
wich is completely wrong if you want to understand these movies.

They should have kept this in, I was so god damn confused about why he ditched his suit for his old one for no reason.

I didn't understand why they removed this scene? It makes sense and explains why Cap suddenly decided to go fetch his old one at the museum.
the tan building they’re coming up from in the beginning of the raid is Fenn Tower it’s a dorm for Cleveland State University, lived there for several months before the pandemic :))
I live in Fenn Tower currently, so I was so shocked to see this video! I knew a few Marvel movies have scenes filmed in Cleveland, but didn't know exactly where. The gym scene is Cleveland State's Woodling Gymnasium :)

This would've made more sense if it was kept, and it would show how he got the clothes. I would also prefer the golden age uniform worn during the helecarriers part to be actually made into a real uniform, since it was not bulletproof and a knife was able to get through.
why was this scene removed? it perfectly explains why he ditches the suit, and was an excellent scene altogether. it couldnt of made the run time that much longer if it was left it, the scene is only a minute long.
This one was pretty good, nice terrosim.

Good thing this scene was cut. It kinda ruin that speech moment for just a simple explanation on why cap needs a new suit. And the scene was OTT.
another kinda important scene. maybe someday in like 10 years they wil re-release the dvd as an extended edition with scenes like these re-integrated into the movie? worked well for LOTR and SW

They just skip over the part where they go find falcons flight suit right? I don't think it's a problem that they didn't explain it, it would have been a big unneccesary mission to show that would have made the movie too long. At least I don't think they explained?

If they have a tracker implanted into his suit how could they not find him until that point? Unless they just activated it right then and there but that would be friggin stupid for the world's top espionage organization to do when hunting someone down. It doesn't add to the movie you don't need to know HOW he got rid of his suit and it's self-explanatory WHY he would get rid of it so it's pointless.
That scene takes place only a couple minutes after he escaped the shield faculty. It takes a little while to locate something, like how GPS systems always takes a bit of time to calculate routes.
Deja-Rae Barrett But that's calculating a route basically the thing has to connect two points and find the most efficient one which is why it takes so long even then it takes a few seconds to calculate a route. The figuring out your location part doesn't even take a second even on a phone doubt it'd be any different for the top of the line tech of an international intelligence agency.

Cap took out a hit squad of about 20 guys in an elevator with one of his wrists magnetized to the wall you take every advantage you can get bro.

The government likely gave Cap his suit back before Civil War or after Infinity War.
