Well, that would be "nice" if that were all that went on. The companies all got together to discuss how to make the filament it's thinnest and hottest, so the bulbs would burn out quickly and people would have to buy more. They didn't want anyone making a light bulb that was good enough to make anyone else look cheap. It's called planned obsolescence and profiteering. Nothing but corruption/collusion and scum today in high places. Some of the original light bulbs ever made are still burning today in train depots and the like. What does that tell you about your few month or 1 year bulb? LOL!

City code ordinance will stick you with a ticket for leaving your junk you don’t want to pay store on your own private lawn but businesses always have a work around where their actions don’t have consequences.
