I'm glad you're enjoying this series! I have planned to start such a series for a long time and I'm happy I am finally doing it. I hope to continue this series for a long time! 🙂
Came across this channel by accident - really enjoy your patient and easy style of teaching. What is that accent? German? Dutch? I have never played solo games before - but now I will play this one, and I definitely want that brand of deck. Liked and subbed - thank you!
Welcome to the channel and thanks for the support! 😊 I'm actually German. My German accent used to be much less recognizable when I lived in North America for a while but it's definitely coming back more and more. 😅
I just saw this game under the title of one-hand solitaire. I also saw variations on that video of if the 2 surrounding cards are of the same rank, you can discard all 4. Or if all 4 are the same suit, discard all 4. That video only taught it as a 4 card set though, not 3-4. So you could only discard 2 at a time. So the difficulty probably balances out. Also it didnt have the King-Queen relationship so the goal was to just get rid of ALL cards (which you would need the discard 4 rule to work). I think i like this version you taight better. I united them in my first game. :)
The bike is a penny farthing. Goofiest looking bike. 👍 I can keep getting it down to 3 cards between the Q and K of Hearts. Unfortunately I cannot figure out a way to win lol. Great playthrough though. Edit: You could have won. I didn't see it before because I am a dope and kept ignoring the Q of Hearts as usable for one end of the match lol If you eliminate in this order: 1) 7 of Spades : use Jokers 2) Ace of Hearts : use 6 and K of Hearts 3) 9 of Diamonds, 6 of Hearts : use 4 and 9 of Clubs 4) 9 of Clubs : use 3 and 4 of Clubs 5) K of Spades, 3 of Clubs : use 4 of Spades and 4 of Clubs 6) 4 of Clubs : use K and 2 of Hearts 7) Second Joker and 3 of Diamonds : use 8 of Spades and 8 of Diamonds 8) 8 of Diamonds : use 8 of Spades and 8 of Hearts 9) First Joker, 8 of Spades : use Q and 8 of Hearts 10) 2 of Hearts, 4 of Spades : use 8 and K of Hearts 11) 8 of Hearts : use Q and K of Hearts Win.
Oh, wow - that's what I call dedication! I see...you always tried to evaluate which exact cards to eliminate. Sometimes it's more clever to eliminate only one card, even though you could eliminate two. I'm impressed - really well done! 💪
@@SirThecos Yeah, sometimes there is added fun in trying to figure out if you could have won after you think you lost. I actually think it could be fun, in that optimization sense, in the variant in which you drop the entire deck at once. Though then it becomes more of a puzzle, like a Sudoku or something. But it certainly could be fun. Hehe .... I am still chalking this up to you won that game. Lol ...
Well, I did win, didn't I? 😅 Yeah, I see the appeal in playing the version with the open cards but I think I'd prefer it the other way, even though it definitely is more prone to luck.
Loving series too. Royal Marriage seems like a relaxing activity, but very luck based with few strategic choices.
Yeah, a lot of those games are quite luck dependent, to be honest.
Really enjoyed watching this solo card game series! Thanks for sharing and showing us some great solo games using a standard deck of cards :-)

Nice play through. Never played this one before. I enjoy the solo card series!
I'm glad you do! I really like the idea, too. 🙂

I've got the black monarchs deck and it's definitely my favourite deck of playing cards ever.
All of the Monarch decks looks really nice - I'm still missing the black one!
Regarding solo gin rummy: Thanks. I am going to try this one. Thinner cards would be better for the all in one hand approach.
Yes, for sure! 😁

Oh, that is interesting - thanks for sharing! 😊
That deck looks nice! Did you back Beth Sobel's River and Stone decks? I just got mine today, and they look great!
Yes, I did - you lucky one! I'm still waiting for it. 😅
Lucky! I missed that kickstarter
Maybe you'll be able to get the cards some other way - they look really beautiful. I hope my cards arrive soon! 😁

If you eliminate in this order:
1) 7 of Spades : use Jokers
2) Ace of Hearts : use 6 and K of Hearts
3) 9 of Diamonds, 6 of Hearts : use 4 and 9 of Clubs
4) 9 of Clubs : use 3 and 4 of Clubs
5) K of Spades, 3 of Clubs : use 4 of Spades and 4 of Clubs
6) 4 of Clubs : use K and 2 of Hearts
7) Second Joker and 3 of Diamonds : use 8 of Spades and 8 of Diamonds
8) 8 of Diamonds : use 8 of Spades and 8 of Hearts
9) First Joker, 8 of Spades : use Q and 8 of Hearts
10) 2 of Hearts, 4 of Spades : use 8 and K of Hearts
11) 8 of Hearts : use Q and K of Hearts
Win.
