- Join me as I head from Adelaide all the way to Eden New South Wales to compete in one of Australia's biggest spearfishing competitions. The Eden 3 Way is a hotly contested 1 day event that has been running since 1970 🏆

We've been waiting for this for months. I just watched this with the boys and they were screaming, shouting groaning and pointing all through that first kingfish encounter. Great work bringing this comp alive. You've got to come up and dive the APCC next at Nelson Bay.

Top vid mate, I'm down for Eden this year! I can't believe you let all the pike go by, they are a top eating fish. And yes I would have plugged the kings first time, you have to have a crack when the opportunity presents. Would have liked to see your buddy nearby, they could have sorted the second shot! Looked like an epic Trip Ethan, well done on the video. That Float line drama was a complete confuckery. You manage to get yourself in to some funny circumstances bro! I loved the way you edited this, cliff hanger stuff LOL! The Kingies looked amazing, they are so much fun to shoot and are such good chew. I was interested in your new speargun, what’s so different about it? Actually whilst watching this video, I was super curious to know about the history of spearfishing and also how the speargun has evolved. Maybe if other fans of yours are also interested you could do a video on this in the future? Just a thought.
I was wondering, if you managed to get one of the large kingies (that got away) would that have effected your finishing position in the tournament ?

The new speargun I am using in this video has a cuttlefish carbonfiber barrel which has a larger mass so absorbs a lot of the recoil of the shot making it much more accurate. It also has twin 14mm bands, compared to the previous gun I was using which has twin 16mm bands. So it doesn't have as much punch but in return I've found it shoots a lot smoother and still has more than enough power.
I don't know much about the history of spearfishing and spearguns but I'll look into it and see what I can find, that's a great idea though!
No unfortunately I didn't see those large kingfish again, I saw them prior to the competition so only thing it effected was my ego 😂

Great video mate :) Ditch the drop weight I reckon, just go standard float line to gun. Not worth the faff
Glad you enjoyed it bro! Yeah most of the time I just run the float to my gun, however during comps I like to just anchor my float at fishy spots and just swim around freely without having to worry about diving with a long float line 😅

Step1. Clip the gun off on the float.
Step 2. Swim down fliatline under the white water.
Step 3. Retrieve drop weight.
Step 4. Pull float, fish and gun to you from open water.
Mission success!
