The problem I have with him is when he drags out words like "it isssssss....caught" or "baaccckkk at the waaaalllll" and sometimes he's a little too low energy. I think he is not a good regular season announcer but in the postseason I actually like having him announce baseball games. He 100% does let the moment speak for himself and he conveys a seriousness that I quite like about postseason. I much prefer him in baseball over football. I wish he would show a little more energy like these highlights when big moments do happen tho

Need to give Joe Buck credit, he took the criticism directed at him earlier in his career to heart starting around 2013. He's gotten so much better at showing emotion and passion where needed, while letting many moments speak for themselves. His Minneapolis Miracle, Cubs WS, and Seahawks comeback calls are classics.

The Minneapolis Miracle is one of those things you will never forget where you were or what you were doing when it happened.
I was at Walmart, just got done with a shift, but was keeping tabs on the game. I remember trying to hurry to the break room to catch the end of the game, ran into one of my coworkers, asked her who won. She said that the Vikings had lost by 1 point. I just sunk to my knees in the middle of the aisle between one of our clothing sections and another aisle, about to just go into shock. Then I looked down at my phone because something just told me to, and saw that we had won. I had to do a double take, and I remember my mouth was wide open and I screamed "We won? WE WON!!" My mom and I immediately went home afterwards and saw the play. Just seeing it was amazing, definitely one of the best plays in sports history.

well I'm drivin that train and I have already taken MLB away from him because of extreme bias so blatant. Sure he prob picked the Red Sox as a "favorite" but when you are a SF Giants fan listening to him cackle about all of the teams we buried on the way, especially Rangers, Cardinals, Tigers then Royals, he is full of shit. We beat em all and he had to backtrack every series. My favorite "greatest pitcher on the planet" verlander. Panda wasnt impressed wiht 95-99 and knocked 2 homers against him and then a 3rd. He sounds more analytical and unbiased in most cases, making the announcing of the game feel less motivated towards one set of fans or the other.

@@texascard The fact that he could still DO that WS even in that state speaks to his dedication.
But I thought his "We'll see you tomorrow night" was better because it must've felt great to redo an famous call his father did.

There are times where he’s been completely emotionless. But through the years you can hear more excitement from him. Compare early 2000’s to the last 5 years. Big difference. And he lets the moments happen without unnecessary blabber (usually). But don’t get me wrong, every time he gets excited to yell no flags, I just pound my head

I’ve always been a fan of “ortiz hits one to right field, we’ll see you later tonight.” Also the 2013 World Series had a walk-off interference call and a walk-off pickoff in back to back games.

  • @RangersFanatic275

Here's my honest opinion on Joe Buck: he is definitely not my favorite announcer, and he has had some bad calls in the past. But ever since 5-10 years ago, he has gotten so much better in his calls. Also, if there is one thing you can't take away from him, is his ability to allow the moment to speak for itself. One big example was the Altuve walk off shot in Game 6 of the 2019 ALCS against the Yankees. He had a great call and allowed the atmosphere to show how monumental that game was. In addition, the Kearse NFC championship winning touchdown against the Packers is another great one too.
