    All of you haters don‘t know what your talking about - it seems to be an american thing.
    If your driving a Maserati over here in Europe your pretty much king of the hill and it doesn‘t matter if it‘s „just“ a ghibli.
    Maserati is a driving legend.

      @jaquevius 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s because a famous TH-camr named Doug DeMuro made a terrible review of a 2014 model that has 4 million views. I’m American and it’s very apparent to me that people just repeat the same info over and over, without ever experiencing this beauty in person. It’s impossible to understand what this car is all about without FEELING it during a long drive. It’s an incredible experience that I’ve never felt in my prior BMW, Mercedes etc. I agree with you. It’s my favorite car I’ve ever owned.

    It looks a little smaller than the 2015-17 Ghibli models, but I love it. Another thing I noticed they changed the Trident enblem on the front member how it look fake on the 17 models...they brought the reality back lol. But so far I love it. I get it in black, more aggressive and stunning

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The trident looked like that because of the 'driver assistance package' this Ghibli wasnt optioned with it but if it was, it would get that big plastic trident. Oh yeah Jay, black would be super dope!

    • @RonsRides

      I have the red zegna leather for my 2016 S. I really love it, it gives the interior some contrast. The zegna interior comes standard in the Lusso as to my car it was an upgraded option. You can get the Lusso without it but you'd have to option it a different way.

      Well if u still in the market my personal advice would be avoid 2014 model as it's the first gen for the Ghibli and there's a few problems with it, from 2015 it's got a bit better. Overall this car cannot described as "reliable" however it does turn ppl's head and impression. Also eventually it will costs u more money than BMW and Audi for its maintenance and service. About $500 for an oil change only.

    • @seanoh432

      just dont get the cheapest used Maserati and complaint without doing any maintenance at month 1 like your neighbor. just dont get cheap 20k 30k maserati, spend at least 45-50k then you should be fine. dont take same step that your neighbor does.

    The driver talks about Skyhook and I understand that pressing the button tightens the suspension and results in improved handling. But if you don't press the button, how does the handling and comfort compare to a Ghibli with the standard suspension?
    I guess the 21" wheels really gives less comfort. With Shyhook, if you don't press the button. will you have somewhat better comfort than with the standard suspension? Any changes between 2017 and 2018?
    Maybe you could make a video testing this! Let us know how you experience it.

    • @Always1Ambitious
      @Always1Ambitious 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Summary of the "Skyhook" suspension below. So seems that the suspension is adapts automatically based on the speed of the car and the driver can also select stiffer dampening if preferred by pressing the button.
      "The Maserati Skyhook Suspension system means that vehicles can maintain great performance without sacrificing comfort. In order to interpret the road surface and other conditions, adjustable settings for the shock absorbers change their settings through proportional valves that respond to a control unit that processes data obtained from acceleration sensors located on the body of the car and in each wheel.
      In simpler terms, the Skyhook Suspension computer constantly processes information and produces calculations to adjust the shock absorbers in order to guarantee on-board comfort and a firm yet pliable suspension."

    Could you do a shorter episode on the steering alone, Ron? I know it may be trivial to some, but EPS has *RUINED* many a good car. It put me off of getting an F-type. The just off-centre steering feel is pretty good on most current EPS systems. The problem is when things load up. In most good HPS units, I can feel the sidewalls of the tires flexing and the chassis reaching it's limits mid-corner. But, with EPS, It's VERY difficult to feel the car losing grip, particularly front-end grip (otherwise known as understeer). Oversteer (the rear-end losing grip) is easy enough to feel, but that's not because of the steering. It's because the rear of the car is physically moving out of line with the front (and the visual cues associated with that)
    Overall though, I love the new Ghibli gransport. IMHO, this is the car the Ghibli *should* have been on launch. Not everyone wants an aggressive Maserati. Not everyone wants a grand touring Maserati. Finally, people can have it as they wish rather than being stuck with a mediocre compromise.

      @RonsRides  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maserati has always been known for comfort and leather interiors. Tech is not their thing. Never has been. But understand a loaded up Benz E Class AMG will blow past the cost of a Maser. Too many people try to compare a loaded Maser with a base Benz. Need to compare apples to apples. Plus looks wise, there really is no comparison. The Benz looks like a Monte Carlo SS on the outside.

    great work maserati! I sold my 2015 Ghibli befor 3 Months and bought a 2016 Porsche Cayenne GTS. Now the Gran Lusso and Grand Sport came out, and I go crazy about these new models. Now the ghibli has all the technic inside, the he needs it. Better steering, softclose doors, more HP. The new Gran Sport has now all the things inside, because I sold my 2015er Model. Can`t wait to get the offer from my maserati Dealer and the first driving experience. Good Job Rons, if you want, check out my IG mikemo5933 where I have pics of the porsche and my old Ghibli.

      You nailed it Mike, I had a 2015 and upgraded to a 2016 S and now I want a 2018 GS haha. That just shows they are making all of the right moves! I'll finished responding to these comments and then check out your IG!

    Headlights and tail lights are still too tiny.. Needs to have a thicker steering wheel, in fact since it's a Ferrari built engine, it need ps to have the RPM rev indicator at the top of the steering wheel as an option. Wheel gaps are too big... (BMW wheel gaps are probably the best of all German cars). If engine valve covers aren't paint red, they should be. The SQ4 should bump up HP to at least 450. For that matter the Granturismo should be at least 500 hp to match the C63 at best or 550 hp... But the Ghibli SQ4 definitely should be min 450 hp. This luxury car should offer a panorama sunroof. It's a large lux-sport sedan it should have that larger pan-sunroof, even though I'm not a fan of them.

      @RonsRides  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some really goof suggestions here. Yeah I wish the wheel gaps weren't as big as they are. I also agree that the GT should at least have been bumped up to 500. The RPM indicator would have been dope, I do like those on the Ferrari. All things they may be able to implement into future cars.

      Do you know if its a for sure thing that they are making a GTS version?

    • @guidolauto
      @guidolauto 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No but unless they do I won't be swapping for another Ghibli. Given that its likely to be another 2-3 years before we have any really new cars, and the fact that a GTS Levante has been seen in the wild, I'm half expecting/half wishing for a GTS Ghibli being announced next year.

    the Ghibli would be an incredible car if it was not so damn overpriced. the BMW 550i has all better features, better interior, a lot more horsepower and torque, and yet it costs around 67k. The Ghibli, not even close to as well equipped, and a smaller size with way less power costs easily 85-90k. makes no sense at all. All maserati has going for it is the brand name

      Mate, in hk these cost around 140,000usd, because of the taxation, however, Ron I love the look of this car and I am planning to get a blue one in gransport trim with my family, I am still considering if I should go for the qp or ghibli

    • @anthonywong9203
      @anthonywong9203 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The base qp in hk comes with full options and is not that much more exp than the Ghibli s grandsport. Also the qp comes with sunroofs and the dealer in hk does not have any ghibli with the power sunroof in stock, I might just wait for a ghibli with the perfect options, red leather int, sunroof and carbon or black gloss trim, do you have a ghibli in blue that you can show us? Gran sport and high gloss black grille
