      your tastes must be impeccable too 😉 and yess we love stories that make us think and reevaluate our own perspective on life and ourselves ☺ there's def a child-like aspect to that manga, but also situations that are more so meant for an older audience. hope you enjoy and maybe get something out of it? :)

    Hey Cadence,i love " I want to eat your pancreas".. it made me feel very sad.. 🥺 The manga got me reading manga again..

      yahh i remember when i first read it, i cried a lot. and then watched the movie which made me cry again 🥲 i thought i wouldn't with the movie since i knew exactly what was going to happen, but it still made me sad.
      interesting you can't remember the male character's name bc i can't either lol. but i think that was intentional by the mangaka :)

    Really enjoyed this video and looking forward to more in this cadance reads “series” 😍 I really like Haru’s Curse and The Gods Lie, so I’m glad they were ones you enjoyed 🥰🥰 I enjoyed Love in Focus, but just as a simple read, it was def nothing deep.. I’ve watched the anime for I Want to Eat Your Pancreas (enjoyed it and ofc cried my eyes out) but I can’t bring myself to read it because in the manga, their character designs look so young 🙈 Wolf Children has been on my radar since I saw the anime trailer, but I still haven’t decided if I’m going to read it or not.. but Josee, the Tiger and the Fish is on my tbr since your last video! I’ll def let you know when I read it 🥰

    • @cadence_la
      @cadence_la  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ohhh i was actually thinking that the other day bc i saw someone mention the same thing in a review about the I Want to Eat Your Pancreas character drawing style being hard to get into bc they look young. in which case the art style matches more with I Had That Same Dream Again ☺
      i read Wolf Children mostly bc i was hearing so many who watched it and it tore them apart lol. so that's still on my list to check out.
      but i'm so glad you enjoyed this super long talk through haha. and yess! at the very least, the Josee art is 💯

    started listening to this on my way to the book store to pick up some new volumes lool, unfortunately wasnt able to find something that i wanted in the store, but whatever
    other than that, thoughts!
    really want to read “Haru’s curse” now, from your description sounds like something i would enjoy, yet i dont think i’d like to have it in my physical collection, shame cz the omnibus looks pretty clean
    “i want to eat your pancreas” is such a good read, i gave it 10/10. i watched the anime adaption and read the manga after and it was amazing and in addition, my friend told me that live adaptation made him bawl his eyes out even more than the anime, so i’m surely watching that whenever i feel like crying ahah
    "Look Back" is the best of one-shots tatsuki created so far, i loved it so much and as you said just those panels with drawings with no dialogue are so nice, sometimes i could just feel an emotion from simple image. i'm not quite sure about the confusion that occurred for you with the story, but i assume i understand at which part it happens. that part kind of reminds me of "Sayonara, Eri" as where the line between whats real or not just disappears for a bit, it really seems nice though!
    "ride your wave" is fine ig, i watched an anime adaptation of it and its decent, but i didnt enjoy it too much. fun fact: the moment from the childhood that was shown (i assume its in the manga as well) reminded me of my own childhood, but i was the one who got saved haha
    it's really a decent thing to watch with a good friend or a partner to laugh about some things and be bit sad about others or crack jokes ~

    • @cadence_la
      @cadence_la  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      for Haru's Curse, i def didn't approach reading it expecting much in terms of the romance genre. it was more like a side thing, which i was totally ok with bc it seemed more focused on guilt and learning to live with it and somehow move on. let me know how you feel about it once you do check it out online :)
      ooo i haven't watched the live adaptation! i should look into that. (side note, i did this recently with Ao Haru Ride where i read it, watched the anime, then watched the live drama haha)
      i agree with Look Back! it's like that feeling of sitting in silence...no dialogue, but the panels speak volumes without actually having to which is amazing. but yahh i think it was def the blurring of lines (that's a good way to word it, thanks!)--between what's the present, what's reality, which are hypothetical situations--that kinda got me confused. or at least it didn't process in my brain when i first read it XD
      oh wow! that must have been quite the experience! 😳
      thanks so much for giving your in-depth thoughts! always feel free to send more :)

      @@cadence_la does live action for Blue Ride cover more volumes than series?
      and also no problem, i like to talk about anime and manga in-depth as u said, but with my friends it’s not always the case or rather i just feel like im annoying them with my long speeches about what i liked or what i didnt ahhaha

    • @cadence_la
      @cadence_la  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lars8596 it does. the anime only goes up to a certain part of the manga, but the live action adapts all of the manga (it leaves out quite a lot imo when it comes to stuff that happens in the later vols)

    Maybe try watching the movie adaption of 5cm per second, it could be better? I know that might sound dumb and I might sound dumb but I remember the movie being very popular when it came out and alot of people I knew really enjoyed it. I never watched it myself but I know sometimes Anime adaptions can be better than the source material so it could be possible. If you do end up giving the movie a try at some point after reading this and End up disliking it and effectively wasting 2 hours I am SOoooo Sorryyyyyy T_T

    • @cadence_la
      @cadence_la  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Idk why I didn’t already know this, but ofc 5 cm/sec has a movie since it’s Makoto Shinkai 😂 I’ll put it on my list to check out! 😊 But I do remember watching Your Name and not being blown away compared to so many people who totally loved it. Makoto Shinkai movies are aesthetically beautiful, but I personally think a little too overhyped? Maybe my lower rating of 5 cm/sec is bc I was hoping for a different outcome and didn’t get it 🤔
      No need to be sorry tho if I end up not liking it haha. I didn’t hate the story so maybe there’s only one way to go, which is up, for this manga 😆
