hey miles.....my experience with townhouses is that everyone has there own seperate box..you can tell by checking out the electric meter to make sure he has his own, and you have yours....definitely using a 10 dollar tester would be extra assurance..i hope this helps!
Hello I have a electric stove and I would like to plug in a 240 plug which is for a heater. Is there an adaptor for this conversion I'm trying to accomplish.
hi terry. you will want to consult an electrician to ensure proper safety for your house, but as long as you change with the proper receptacle, you should be good.. hope this helps.
That’s wrong , you need to run the rated wire size for that specific unit. I would run new wire with the correct wire size as well as the double pole 50 amp breaker. That Romex 12/2 is a little risky.
Eric Townsend hey Eric. Sure I do but shutting off the main makes me feel good. Lol. Also homeowners might not have testers. I hope it helped! Thanks for commenting.
@@homemend " Also homeowners might not have testers." I would love to see a homeowner face when after following your guidance, they have to reset all their clocks, routers, cameras, and everything else that didn't have anything to do with changing the outlet in the kitchen.
You don't show anything here... just cut off all power, pull out the old and replace with the new. done. This video is incomplete and shouldn't be here.
If you can't fill in the blanks that he missed, you don't know enough to be messing with high voltage. I'm not trying to be mean, just saying you're trusting YT a bit much with your life.
Very poorly explained! You should have stated existing conditions before making changes. I.E. breaker amps, conductor size, receptacle amps existing. Unless someone put an illegal receptacle (being a different ampacity) or you did by not changing the conductors and the breaker. Since you did not explain, only you know. I suggest if you made the error, you should fix it. Especially since you put this on TH-cam.
Two Dustin’s getting the dang thang done the right way!😎🤙
You better believe it
Thank you I learn a lot
awesome brother thank you!
You changed from a 30 amp to a 50 amp breaker right? Because that receptacle is 50 amps.

Couldn't you just turn off the breaker to the range and use a non-contact voltage detector to test for live lines?
Absolutely Jon. Great tip, thanks for sharing
I didn't know the oven plug and the dryer plug are different
Hey sass. You are awesome.
Would have been nice if you could see what he was doing.....
