29.06.2020 - VN24 - Accident with four cars leaves four injured on A45 near Schwerte

VN24 - Schwerte / Germany - Two consecutive traffic accidents occurred on the A45 motorway in the area of the Westhofen intersection (Schwerte) early Monday morning (29 June). Four people were injured in the second of the two accidents. The motorway had to be closed for several hours. The first accident occurred around 04:45 a.m. about 200 metres before the Westhofener Kreuz intersection, in the direction of Oberhausen. According to initial reports, the vehicles of a 25-year-old from Herdecke and a 49-year-old from Hagen collided sideways. The cars involved in the accident stopped in the right lane and the hard shoulder, and the passengers got out uninjured. Several vehicles noticed the accident site and passed it. A 26-year-old man from Waltrop also braked his car on the left lane. A 22-year-old man from Leipzig seems to have overlooked this for reasons as yet unknown and hit with his car the car in front of him. Both drivers and the passengers of the 22-year-old (19 from the Netherlands and 13 from Leipzig) were seriously injured in the collision. Ambulances took them to nearby hospitals. The A45 motorway had to be closed until about 8.20 am.

Kleiner Tip an die Feuerwehrleute der Hebel zum öffnen derselben befindet sich rechts unten neben der Fahrertür... Es ist klar zu sehen das die haube nur vom Sperriegel gehalten wird.. Das Leben kann so einfach sein... Aber lieber mit roher Gewalt sinnlos eine Haube zerstören... Traurig sowas..

@@dot7107 It's called Health and Safety - Recovery Ops should wear cutproof gloves at all times. After an accident a car usually has dozens of razor -sharp edges just waiting to slice your hand open, and your head too if you have to bend down or if the car is suspended from a crane. I know, I am a Recovery Operator!
