    i travel between Lagos and Ibadan regularly but what i find uplifting other than the train service between Lagos and Ibadan ,is when sat in Agege station waiting for the train and was able to watch 2 other trains pull up and depart , they were the old trains but the arrived on time and departed on time , like i said i used the service very regular and each time am waiting at Agege station these 2 trains pull up and drop off and pick up just like the service in the UK it show we can do it and our future in Nigeria will move forward if the NRC keeps up its service

      I like the predictability of the trains. The 2 hours 45 minutes to ibadan is a comfort ride. Unlike when I go by road and arrive ibadan tired. Something about the road just stresses you out and it’s unpredictable, 1 hour today , 3 hours tomorrow … you never know

    Thank you for your efforts in recording this video. I have a few observations. Mostly, the station looks good as does the train. I think some of the green covers over the seats looked ripped so those could be in better shape. That's really the only thing I noticed. The train looked clean, the announcements were clear, it was on time, and everything looked well organized.
    I think this is a Chinese built station and train. Am I right. If so, that's OK for now but hopefully, Nigeria will phase out Chinese builders and Nigerians can make their own trains, stations, rails and such and even the signals and computers to run them. Hopefully, that is the goal. I want to see Nigeria turn into the power and even superpower I think it has potential to be.

      Very true way better than what they have in Turkey and even US. The only problem with Nigeria is landscaping. Nigeria really need to improve on that. Around the rail track doesn’t look good. It’s either fully green or interlocked. Likewise Nigerian streets. This is a serious issue in my opinion. Nigerian streets are too narrow and no proper sidewalk and then there’s open drainage which is nasty and breeding ground for mosquitoes that kill the citizens. Roads are not well marked with traffic/road signs. Around the terminal not well done too. But the interior is perfect. Another concern is wtf with cash? This is how they’ll embezzle and run this project to the ground. It shouldn’t be cash but with card, online direct to government account which will be used to pay staff, maintain the facility and also generate revenue for the government

Looks very elegant and still in its infancy state with everything so neeat and luxurious even in the economy class . I wonder if this business is not being run at huge loss right now looking at all those near 50 train attendants at the Alagomeji station in Ibadan for the handful of commuters boarding from Lagos to Ibadan . If they organize themselves properly ensuring passengers following gates manned with Turnstilles there will be no need for up to 10 attendants at the rail station. Its only 2 trips daily anyway.

    Great video, bro. Very informative. It's a shame about the cash economy at the station. I like that you can leave your vehicle at the station for a couple of days. Its nice touch.

    Well done! When I visited in December, I was excited to see construction being done on Ikeja Train Station!

    • @seuntimothy
      @seuntimothy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yes I believe more stations will
      Be added in the future but then they have to increase the speed of the train so we don’t get to ibadan in 3 and half hours

    • @FERESE
      @FERESE 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ikeja train station is "Light rail" under the blue line project constructed by Lagos state government. This train has been running for close to 2yrs. It is a "SGR" train constructed by the Federal government.

      @seuntimothy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@FERESE the ikeja station is actually red line, The blue line is expected to begin operations this month from CMS to MILE 2. Hopefully I’ll get to check it out when it does

    I actually enjoyed this video because of how informative it is. But you left out one key information which is the cost of parking at the Mobolaji Johnson station in Yaba. Thanks for the video.

      @seuntimothy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good point! I totally missed that. Same day parking is 500 Naira , then the overnight parking is 500 Naira .

    Thanks Seun for the video. Just watched the blue light rail commissioning in Lagos today as well and great to see our country is moving forward but looks like the awareness for this service is low, the reason shops and the waiting room are practically empty and the use of cash to get tickets should be discouraged otherwise I doubt the sustainability long term. 2 hours 45 minutes travel time by rail between Lagos and Ibadan is discouraging and would not be attractive to prospective passengers including myself but hope FG could get more better trains as time goes on. Can`t wait to jump on the Lagos light rail when next am visiting Nigeria.

    This is Great content. Keep it up please. More showcasing of the positive sights and sounds of Nigeria.👍👍👍 This makes me feel proud to be Nigerian.👍🇳🇬👍 I noted that your picture colours are not very bright. Maybe the camera quality. Please get a better camera and I assure you it will add class to your wonderful effort. Add more aspects of recreation, hotel and accommodation, beach life, and great outdoors. Many in Nigeria don't even know what we have. Cover tourist areas. I am subscribing to your channel and I hope you will take it to a greater height.👍👍👍 From Abuja 🇳🇬
