Our schools doesn't have the curriculum of military history. We are only taught about the world wide revolutions and freedom movements.

It's a shame that I was not taught about it but thanks to internet and my keen interest in Indian Army I now know this for a fact! In schools we were taught how Mughals and Britishers ruled us and how Gandhiji saved us all that's it! There's a reason why Congress was in power for 60 years and literally killed our long pride history as great warrior people!
This is a beautiful comment & beautiful video. My great grand father, Capt Sagat Singh, was one of the Haifa heroes, and along with Major Dalpat Singh, one of those 3 who were awarded the Military Cross for their supreme bravery. I never met him because he later died at the age of 24 due to injuries from the war. We have his written diary that describes the war days and his MC medal and seeing these videos makes my extremely emotional & proud. There's a huge misconception that the Indian soldiers were forced to fight this war by the British - my great, great grandfather and Capt Sagat Singh's father, Jodhpur Regent Sir Pratap Singh, had volunteered to send his regiment and his son, Jodhpur Lancers to the war and to the Haifa battle - knowing that the Haifa battle was likely a suicide mission. That decision, and the victory at Haifa, likely impacted the course of the 1st World War.

The Battle of Haifa is not specifically taught in school curriculums. I learnt about it much later while studying history deeply for competitive examinations. Nevertheless the common feeling among us Indians towards Israel is that we consider Israelis to be brave, innovative and resourceful and we respect you for that. Also the deep bonds of Indo-Israel friendship is clearly evident in many areas of cooperation between the two countries. Also, there have been many reports of India and Israel secretly collaborating with each other and helping each other out as and when required. Overall, Israel is loved and respected as a true and tested friend of India.
