i think teltacles work becouse they allow a 3 dimentional movement and i the space, where there is no gravity or the concept of up and down, they look like the natural thing to use for a monster to move around. But hey it just my random thought.

I think the best way to explain cosmic horror is that it is less about space and more about comprehension. It scares you, as you can not understand it. You can not put the creatures into classes like in other genres. And the monsters are usually not even the scariest part. The real horror lies in revelation. In finding out something that is not meant for humans to know, knowledge you can not comprehend.
To quote this from the bloodborne franchise, "enlightement can drive you mad".
Still, a nice design. A really nice creation.
If you want more cosmic horror, i highly recommand you reading the works of howard Philip lovecraft (he was a garbage bag, and a wreck of a human being, but he was a really good writer) checking out bloodborne, the horrifying video game classic and (i'll edit this once i've found more)

To me, it looks like a second creature or parasite has latched onto the top part of another one and it screaming and fighting to get away. Once it's done merging, it will use its body to move around. Anyway, cool design.

    Great Session!
It would be cool to see you using color traditionally with pencils. I find myself struggling getting a smooth colored layer like in photoshop with pencils.

I'll be doing more painting tutorials soon. I will also be filming my traditional sketching more but I'm looking into a nice camera and lighting setup for that.

hi thank you for sharing this design process and was very glad to hear your talk over the design as you work :)
I have a little technical question - which tablet do you use?
I know, its a general question and doesnt mean much, but asking that because your lines looks and feel very flowy and natural,
and you mantioned that you are used to traditional media and drawing on paper - which made me think - do you use a table tablet or a screen one?
I find it more natural using screen tablets, when I go digital :)

I made it in Photoshop. I just Googled old parchment paper and combined textures that I saw.
