One thing I also heard that was a gem of wisdom is when you’re doing creatures…..their teeth shouldn’t be perfect. They don’t have dentists 😂😂😂 make them look jagged/misshaped and terrifying.
It's so valuable to hear you talking through your thought process as you design, even the more basic principles for us noobs. This is priceless content! 💯
Dudee, when you started doing the fast scribbling to add gesture and motion I really enjoyed it! I sometimes do that. I love how it shows so much movement and a little chaos but controlled, very intentional. Awesome drawing and content man 👏🏼
Always very cool! I “see” the different techniques you use each time. For example the value “at least 3 passes”…. I’ve noticed how you layer them , with the different passes each was kinda over lapping another, but strategically placed. I learn by visual. I keep watching them over and over to learn different techniques.
@@bobbyrebholz2183 I can’t speak for anyone but me, but ….YES! Im very studious visually. Now it’s trying to balance my values, unfortunately I’m a little heavy handed, even when I try to go light.
It’s always exciting whenever you post new content. I’m doing a lot of studies based off your videos. You have reignited my obsession for drawing and I can’t wait to see how much more you have to teach
Good morning draw sessions, the hydra was amazing, what do you think of painting a kraken some day? I still cant believe this has won by much more than the other one
Am currently working on sketches involving characters of my own and I plan on making a manga involving those characters and even though this is a creature and not a character it does give me some inspiration on how to improve my shading
I would love to see your interpretation of krampus. Because this hydra triggers my primel book it now!!! Response. One of the best hydras iv seen. Subed.
Hi again. Jim from Madrid, Spain (a fellow artist and a New Yorker expat living abroad). WOW! Another great learning experience (every time you teach so much in each video, it's just amazing!). With this one you've "illuminated" me on another thing I was having some trouble in my looser sketches... "The selling point"! When I start sketching loosely to just get ideas out for paintings (I am very much into wildlife art and slowly starting to adventure into creature design) I try to remind myseld to focus on what's important (the selling factor as you call it) but I tend to include too much detail in areas that are not important for the idea and the sketch. So again, thank you very much. The way you've explained it and demonstrated it with how to choose the Hydra's Heads that really impact the sketch while keeping everything loose has been an eye opener (at least for me!). Right now I'm in the ER at the Hospital and I've started to sketch a new scene while I'm waiting for doctor's results and right after watching this video twice. Thank you for sharing with us all your knowledge and expertise! One more thing! Watching your thought process from a blank sheet if paper to a drawn sketch also helps me a lot with how to think strategically both in composition, atmosphere and protagonism within the sketch. What can I say... just THANK YOU! This is one of the best channels out there for drawing! Cheers from Sunny Spain! 😁👍😎✌
Can I ask you a question? Do you also draw with Ink? I personally draw with graphite and, for quick sketches, in blue or red, and I also work on Ink, before I finish a project in watercolor or Gouache. The way you draw in graphite is amazing and I was wondering if you also used other mediums... Thank you for your interest, though. Unlucky me... I'm still at the Hospital. But hopefully out by Monday! Bad Christmas for the family here (wife and kids) but you can't choose things in life sometimes. Anyway... thanks and cheers from Sunny Spain! 😁👍😎✌
@@bobbyrebholz2183 I just discovered something that might help others. You shade in value with I think it's a 4b so I've been doing the same but if I use a harder graphite like a HB it looks soooo much smoother with my unpractised hand
I don’t know about the crab part, but i remembered Hercules having to hold his breath while killing this thing because it can kill you when you inhale its foul and poisonous breath.
Oookay, all the heads of my hidra will look like top-right head of ur hydra, but let's give it a try:). Its cute and im glad to think it prefere chocolate and not rly enjoy party with that dangerous guys. Thank you for video^^
Ok so the Hydra wrapped a coil round Hercules leg trapping a foot, and then the crab started attacking that foot. So you remembered that right pretty much. And sooo looking forward to the dragon. The whole reason I started learning to draw was so I could one day draw dragons.
I absolutly love your art style. For a beginner in creture disoning with no experience in your tecnique, where did you suggest to start learning and what focusing on?
Definitely anatomy study of existing animals. Do sketches of bones and muscles from animals so that you can build up that visual library of believable reference.
My suppressing my shadow is similar to slaying a hydra tho ive found a way better way i befriend it and allow its expression in my art of twisted demons and aliens.... so thank u for reminding me to keep expressing ...😊

Hi! I’ve been thinking about trying to enter the art industry for a while now as a career. But my primary worry has been the financial stability of that job. I was just wondering if you could tell me if that kind of career is stable and comparatively to others, profitable. Also love the artwork man! I hope to be as good as you eventually!
Hey man, started teaching myself to draw a few months ago, and I practise every day - just got some black pencils because I've seen how impactful you make them seem. However, due to the fact that they are more waxy in feel, how would you hdnel the blending process? Or, do you avoid blending entirely? I'm finding that he more I use them like a standard pencil the better, but I don't want the darkest darks to seem blocky or cartoony! Thanks for the awesome videos man.
Do you have any suggestions how to geht into creating creatures and so on? Its Like, that i try to come Up with a creature and after some minutes i get so frustrated that i Stop the drawing. So i am wondering what could be a Help to get better into creating creatures? Maybe there are steps that i am missing to get results that please me more. And sorry for my bad writing. I am actually from Germany and also in a Fight with my stupid T9 from my mobilphone😅

I'm pretty sure the person that send the crab to distract Hercules during the fight was Hera (hating on Hercules as per usual)
Amazing!
