Another incredible video. For me, it was the prisma color "sealing" trick. Thank you ❤

Huge point with the layering of graphite and building up a nice flat tone to work over, such a great thing to highlight! Never tried the colored pencil coat, I'll give that a go. Some thoughts on sharpening the pencil... I like to shave the pencil down to expose about 1.5-2 inches of graphite and sand the graphite down to a tapered point. This forces you to draw more like you're painting and keeps the pencil sharp for a long time! you can also fill holes in the shading using the tip of the pencil and use a gummy eraser to pick out dark splotches when they occur, which can help create flat values. Thanks for sharing, really great tips! I've got another idea for a monster: Elephant, Alligator Gar, and I know you want to do the praying mantis too (devil's flower Mantis)

This shading technique is so simple yet very effective. I'm glad I found your channel these past few weeks, I've been trying to incorporate your lessons into my own art with promising results. Good teacher, good content, can't go wrong.

Absolutely fascinated by the value and texture of the creatures tentacles. How do you achieve the highlights without erasing?? And the softness of the tentacles themselves I can imagine how they feel just looking at them! Would love to see how that's done!

I am learning a lot in your approach to drawing, it is more organic and relax than what I was thought to do.

That makes me happy. There is the mechanical side to drawing - muscle memory and arm movement. But so many times we tense up because we're so worried about it looking perfect.

Really interesting technique ! Almost like the crosshatching you would do with ink, but the result is smooth, and that without a stomp. Really handy for sketching on the go, cause you virtually need only one pencil. I'll try it !

Hey mister you always work with a 4B ,but I will like to know if really each pencil has a different tone/color? or have to skeep the scale ,cause I don't wanna buy tones that looks too similar to the other, ,of course shading LITE ,like you teach or is worth to get the whole set?? For diferents parts like if were COLORS

I realised that I might have problems with shading instead of just "doing bad drawings in general" when I simply would stop when the shading part begins, coz whenever i try, it doesnt add anything: the drawing doesnt look more detailed or realistic, still a sketch but darker, "full", ending worse than before sometimes; I believed that my sketch to begin with might be the reason why the rest doesnt follow, but I saw even "hyper realistic" artists have very similar drawings to mine till they start shading, thats where their drawing really transform and thats where im left behind...

I have the opposite problem.. I am very good with shading but not so good with the initial structure 😂 working on it though! Good luck buddy
