Hi Sarah, I am so sorry to hear your story. I know your pain all too well. I just lost my third and last sister, October 3, 2023. The four of us were inseparable. The pain is so awful and yet, somehow hearing your story, is helpful. I am Sally (baptized Sarah Jane) and the youngest of the four. I found you by googling lost sisters because I just wanted to see if there was a story similar to mine. The craziest of all is in the frame time that I was losing them we also lost our 39 year old beautiful niece to colon cancer. She left behind a seven year old. Life is so hard sometimes. I miss them all so much. I am sending you so much love.

I’m a cancer survivor. Stage two breast cancer, I will hit my first milestone in June (five years). I made a close friend in treatment. Different cancers she died in October. I’m gutted. I also have a cousin who had been in remission for five years. So fight my sisters. I’ve seen miracles happen. I will hope this for you.

So so sorry for such heartbreaking news, be positive at all times and stay strong. That’s what l like about our medical here in South Africa where l live, it’s just darn good . When l had some reflux and gastric issues l was immediately sent for a colonoscopy, it was all clear, however why is this not done as a regular check for most symptoms or are people just leaving it too late. Cancer is very curable these days, however it’s when it hits the liver that’s rather concerning. My husband has had cancer four times and his a walking miracle so please don’t ever give up.

@@SJ_Strum thank you, because the prep wasn't very effective, I have another colonoscopy Friday, they are still convinced it is cancer but want another biopsy. The good news from all the scans is that they have caught it early and it hasn't spread. So still a bit of a waiting game to find out the treatment plan. I feel very blessed. This has been down toy very astute GP.
I have been on extended prep this time but am still constipated, am hoping the rest of the prep does its job. I am at a loss to understand why things aren't moving so to speak.

Sadly within hours of his last appointment he was rushed to hospital diagnosed within hours with cancer of the oesophagus nothing could be done we lost him within weeks. Hey,
Thank you for making this video. You are both incredible. My 2 year old son was diagnosed with a wilms tumour in July, he had his kidney/tumour removed and then 8 weeks of chemo and thankfully was declared as in remission in November.
What you said about showing up rang through and made me cry because everyone facing cancer is fighting for their lives, my little boy Beauden though brave and strong was very lucky in his battle. His staging plus how the operation went we’re all in his favour and he is no better nor worse than a child who’s battle may be harder to fight or who may not win.
All we could do was show up for him.
You will get through this, I have no doubt. Sharing your story is inspirational. Thank you so so much.

I have had stage 1 rectum cancer and never been the same, I have been the only one in my family and I'm only 28 don't have kids yet. Every intestinal or surgery in the bowels upsets them. Trapped air all the time. Not really enjoying food. Every bit of excitement sets the pain off again. Then there's been beautiful days where I could go out in the sunshine. I'm plucking up the courage to get my ileostomy reversed in April and hopefully will be able to visit the UK to see my family and do my Scotland tour. Thanks for sharing because I don't feel as alone anymore and if I'd bump into you whenever I am over I'd be pleased. All the best for ur journey x

I literally submitted an online appt for the gp earlier today because I’ve had a couple of symptoms that have worried me enough (I’m usually the wait and see type) and then this video pops up. I’m subscribed to SJ so it’s not even like it’s an algorithm thing. Sending love 💙

Thank you for so bravely and generously sharing your story. It is striking how much harder it is to witness the sadness and grief than our own suffering. I’m sending my loving to you all.💗

Thank you so much for sharing this - It is so important that we raise awareness about these health issues, and that we show support for those affected. Thank you.
Naomi, you are such a ray of light. Your humour and character has brightened my day through the podcast so many times. My heart is breaking to see you in pain, but I am so happy that you have loving people in your life to be there. I wish you and them all the best, and you will be in my thoughts.

So sorry to hear you’re going through this 💔 Sending you all the best. Thank you for raising awareness because it is quite common. When I was 18, I experienced bloody poops and lots of pain while going. It took me months before I checked it out because we don’t really talk about bathroom things. That’s when I was diagnosed with colitis. Its followed with regular colonoscopies - not fun, but important. Whatever the cause of symptoms ends up being, it’s important to get it checked.

I’m so sorry. Thank you for using your platform for raising awareness. My family has a history of bowel cancer as well, we’ve lost people and we’ve some survivors. It’s a horror in terms of how quickly it can manifest and the fear. I have had to save this video for later as I couldn’t make it through it. Just brings it all rushing back. I will watch the rest soon. I send you all my love and will keep you in my thoughts.

Treating to cure are amazing words My two best friends just went through ‘treating to cure’ cancers and both are 1.5 and 2.5 years out. Important video this is that u r doing...seeing family help one another, the process and encouragement is fantastic. And the future topics too will be helpful and real and connect us to our humanity. Thank u, Angela

RIP Naomi. So sorry your journey ended so soon. You are so right. Good advice to anyone watching. Just get symptoms checked. I had a endometrial cancer scare a few months ago. No symptoms but womb lining looked suspicious in regular ultrasound. Had a hysteroscopy and it came out all clear just polyps attached to it. My Pap smear was clear too. But am glad I checked it.

I can’t thank you enough for sharing your story. My dad was just diagnosed in December as well, stage 4, colon and rectal cancer that metastasized to his liver as well. Hearing 12 months to live at his young age of 64 is hard to swallow but I’m so glad you’re raising awareness for young women as well. We, too, turned to Google and YOUR VIDEO WAS FIRST TO BE RECOMMENDED so please know it has touched us and it has helped us know that we aren’t alone, whether you are the patient or the loving care giver. Stay strong and know your mission was heard loud and clear- I am vowing to listen to my body from here on out! Keep fighting!

I have stage 4 breast cancer and BRCA2, my original diagnosis was in Dec 2012. 2nd diagnosis summer 2018. Like you said, you just need to keep turning up. Xx

So sorry to see this earlier on Instagram. Ugh. So heart wrenching. Just want to say that your description of the farm shop loo episode is SO helpful - never heard an actually specific description of what they mean by ‘bleeding’. Must be such petrifying times but already, this one video, so valuable. So glad you’ve got such lovely support and you’re right, now is far far better than decades ago xxxxxx
