- Recorded on April 30, 2009, this impromptu jam session would have made Monk and the old-school beboppers proud! Delfeayo-tram, Marlon Jordan-trumpet, Mark Gross-alto, Vincent Gardner-tram, Charnette Moffett-1/2 bass, Herlin Riley-drums. Pure melody and improvisation, this performance displays all of the great aspects of live jazz.

I love delfayo solo on this one, but I definitely think that Vincent Gardner is playing here one of the most important solo on trombone in the all Jazz History!!!!

With the exception of Gross and Gardner, I know everyone in the band personally. True, I have heard Marlon sound "better" but if you know anything about Marlon and his family, you know that they are always reaching for something beyond the status quo. I think that's what Marlon was doing...some things came out, some didn't...that's jazz baby. Plus, as a trumpeter, the amount of control he displayed was very commendable.
Vincent makes that trombone sound like a baritone sax. He has a great amount of creativity and control of sound, making musical expression rather than a technical display.
