    Mike, I'm not saying you didn't do a good job because you did, but you missed a very important step. On the left front side where the transmission axle is, there is a screw plug that you need to remove to check the level. The car must be perfectly leveled on the ground and as you pour new fluid you should see the excess fluid coming out of that hole. Another important step is to drive the car 10-20 miles before you check the level because the transmission fluid expands a lot at higher temperature and the volume of fluid is 10-20% bigger so the level must be checked when the fluid is hot (180-220 F.)

    Good video.Yes the back wheels against the parking block is very smart.I have lifted up a car without blocking the back wheels and the car rolled back scaring me.
    Those back wheels absolutely need to be blocked.
    I bet changing the fluid your transmission will never slip now.
    It revs and accelerates normally?

    I have a 2013 Escape. I do a drain and fill to the trans every 10,000 miles. I drain and add a little more than 4-1/8 quarts. I never do the leveling procedure

      As long as you have no leaks, it’s a good way to do it. You could even drain it cold and if you measure that amount you just add that same cold amount back. This is an easy way to do it as long as you don’t have a leak. It’s not a bad idea to periodically check it after the car is warmed up good. An easy way to check it is to jack up the front driver wheel but before doing that use a measuring tape to measure the distance from the floor to the bottom of the door. Then take the wheel off and slowly lower the car to have it positioned at the same height you measured. Then you know the vehicle is level as it was with the wheel on. With the car running remove the plug for checking the fluid in the side of the transmission and make sure it’s just dripping from the hole. If it’s low add some more fluid to get to the drip point. You can even add the fluid through this hole until it drips out instead of adding it up top.

    All problems because of bad engineered cooling system. No problems with this in Canada... Cars ran 200k without fluid change

  • @brentacusmaximus6677

    Unfortunately you've added the equivalent of a contaminant. It takes ford Motorcraft mercon LV. Its specially designed for the that trans specifically the valve body. Draining it the way did only removes the fluid in the trans pan there's still Close to the same amount in the torque converter and valve body. Mixing 2 different types of atf isn't a good idea. I flush mine every 3 engine oil changes along with the ptu gear oil. Like others have said there's a check plug next to the driver side cv axle, there's important steps to take over or under filling are detrimental to this transmission.

      @muradbilalov  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As I mentioned in this video I have completed this procedure several times, to be exact 3 times after each next month to make sure I remove as much as I could of the previous fluid and to be honest it fixed my problem, that’s pretty much fixed all the main strikes during the 2nd to 3rd shift that made it almost unnoticeable. Your way is correct, but as I mentioned in the description I made it for those who wanted to fix the same issue for cheap! I still keep in touch with the owner of this vehicle and he is happy with the truck!

      @@angieengle7064 Just make sure you drain the old fluid in metered substance, so you would know how much fluid you have drained so you would add exactly the same amount of oil! That is important!

  • @rickbraden4272
    @rickbraden4272 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    You have absolutely no idea if the trans is over filled or under filled. That's why Ford has a port to check the fluid level.

    • @muradbilalov
      @muradbilalov  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree, I was only measuring how much fluid came out, so I can put exactly the same amount in. But I am about to make a new video of doing stage 3 deluding ATF along with adding Lucas ATF liquid. Unfortunately theses models don’t have atf dip stick, but I found the leveling screw next to the drivers wheel, so I will show leveling in my next video.

    How's the gear shift quality after the ATF change?

    • @muradbilalov
      @muradbilalov  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It started to shift smoother but didn't completely fix the issue, but its much better than it was before. I will do one more ATF change, since there still some old oil left, so we pretty much deluding it by draining and refiling. It will be my third refill. I will also add Lucas atf fluid this time and make another video update.

    Your totally doing this wrong car should be level car should be hot and last but not least pull the driver side tire off to get to the leveling screw if you over fill that can do major damage I can't watch this video anymore because your totally doing it wrong.

    • @muradbilalov
      @muradbilalov  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That’s why I mentioned on this video to level up and measure how much original liquid came out so you can put exactly the same or preferably less, because it’s always easier to add… So what I was suggesting wrong?! It definitely helped my problem!!! And as I mentioned in your previous comment, this was the first video that came out to help people to locate where is derange hole and where to fill in, many people fixed their problems this way.

    • @Loudes012
      @Loudes012 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@muradbilalov I think it is smart to add less.I did the same thing.You could always add more later.
      I have a Ford also but the manual suggests also when adding more ATF to add 8 ounces at a time while shifting through the gears after every 8 ounce fill ups.
