@heirihunziker The artists at Montmartre are in the public eye every single day. They are used to being scrutinized, filmed and photographed every single day.As far as a portraitist is concerned the bigger the crowd, the more chance there is of 'enchainment' i.e: a 'follow-up client'.I have the advantage of being one of the gang, and the artists know I would never do anything to betray their trust. There are a few,a handful, who are a little camera shy...but you have to respect that.
My approach to portrait is similar to this artist ever since I was a child, but I did not want to be a starving artist, so I worked as a part-time waiter through college and picked up something to do with my talent- to be a registered architect. Now I am 76 years old, I could start doing something I always loved doing, and gifted at doing it- life sized portraits and life-sized International ballroom dancing figures and foot-prints. It's a bit rough, but what do you expect? This is not a ten thousand dollar oil painting. It is very good, but he made the chin too long, imo. (I do portraits in Central Park, NYC).
i do portraits too, but this is very good for 10 min portrait. it has colors and everything while most artist would go for just charcoal or pencil for a quick drawing
